Cleo Bradley Capps, age 86, of Powell, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2017. She was a member of Beaverdale Baptist Church. She has attended Sharon Baptist Church for the last 18 years. She worked at Standard Knitting Mill for 34 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude & Roxie Bradley and brother, Glenn Bradley. She is survived by husband, J.B. Capps; a very devoted and loving son, Doug Capps; her twin brother, Leo Bradley; sisters, Ruby Ridner, Imogene McElroy, Evelyn Keith, and Claudine Williams, and several nieces and nephews.

Rick Lee Fox

Rick Lee Fox-age 66, of Ooltewah, TN passed away on December 30, 2017 at Hospice of Chattanooga after suffering many years from the complications of cardiovascular disease. He was born September 23, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Fulton High School and the Tennessee Institute of Electronics in Knoxville, TN. He was baptized at Edgemoor Baptist Church in Clinton, TN and is currently a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. He retired from the Mueller Company in Chattanooga, and was dedicated to his beloved family and friends.

Dorothy (Dottie) Marie Anderson Calloway Zirkle

Dorothy (Dottie) Marie Anderson Calloway Zirkle passed away on December 28, 2017, after a brief illness. Born on September 13, 1925, Dottie was the youngest of Sam and Edith Anderson’s 12 children. She loved to share that she was born in the basement of her grandparents’ house. Birthdays were a special event for Dottie—a true time of celebration. She was thrilled to reach her 90th birthday, celebrating in her bathing suit!

Richard Steven "Steve" Geames

Richard Steven “Steve” Geames, age 63, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Thursday, December 28th, 2017, after putting up a hard fight against cancer. He was born November, 24th 1954 in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Gibbs High School in 1972. Steve was a beloved father, an Army Veteran, and most importantly a follower of our Lord and Savior. Steve was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by father C.W. Geames. He is survived by mother, Carrie Geames. Children: Amanda, Michael and his wife Tara, Ashley, and Cody.

Gregory Lynn Loy, born September 9, 1959, passed away at Fort Sanders Hospital at 7:11 pm, December 27, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Loy and father, John Lee Loy. He is survived by his mother, Wanda F. Darrell Wayne Hayes – age 45 of Maynardville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith. Darrell was a self-employed sheetrock contractor for several years. He was a loving husband, father and a friend to many.

Mae Elizabeth “Betsy Bull” Runions-age 41 of Tazewell passed away peacefully Monday night, December 25, 2017 at U. T. Medical Center with her family and friends by her side. Betsy was a graduate of CCHS Class of 1994 and of Walters State Community College. She was employed by Cherokee Health Systems of Maynardville, TN for over 17 years. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Burl & Mary McAfee Seals, Barnett & Dollie Bull, and mother-in-law, Margaret Runions Poore, and father-in-law, Estel Runions Jr.

Kimberly Renee Shipley

Kimberly Renee (Lyles) Milsap Shipley, age 51, of Knoxville passed away unexpectedly December 24, 2017 at home. She was a lover of Jesus. Preceded in death by father Ralph J. Milsap; grandmother “Mama” Gussie Lyles and grandfather Bill Lyles. Survived by husband of 31 years Charles R. Shipley; daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Matt Reynolds; mother Ruth Milsap; sister Tonya Coker; brother and sister-in-law Bryan and Nicole Milsap; nieces and nephews Sydni, Bailee, Leah, Austin, and Jeremey Crum; several family and friends who are too many to list in Knoxville and South Carolina.

Ruby Merle Edwards

Ruby Merle Edwards– age 94, formerly of Edwards Road in Maynardville, TN died December 25, 2017. She was born on January 28, 1923, in Paris, TN and grew up there on the family’s dairy farm. In addition to helping run the family’s dairy farm she also worked for TVA in the Reservoir and Properties Management department in Paris, TN prior to her marriage. She married her husband Ben Quintell Edwards, her best friend Sue’s brother, on February 5, 1949. They raised three children in Southaven, MS.

Eileen I. Wolfenbarger

Eileen I. Wolfenbarger, 89, of Knoxville, passed away December 24, 2017, at home surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by parents Lee Inklebarger and Bessie Skeen Inklebarger; siblings Edward Inklebarger, Loreda Brabson, Doyle Inklebarger; and grandson Mark Wolfenbarger.

Wanda Abrams Kirby, 87, of Seymour went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 23, 2017. She was the most caring, loving mother, and grandmother anyone could ask for. She was a member of Oak City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen H. Kirby; sons Billy Lee Kirby, Marion Joe Kirby and Tony Glen Kirby; Mother Edith Saylor Abrams and brother Willie Abrams. She is survived by; daughter, Teresa Childress and husband, Roger; sons, Terry Kirby, wife Lois, Kenneth Kirby, wife Karen, Jimmy Kirby, and wife Brenda.

Ira E. Wishart III

Ira E. Wishart III, age 73 went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 22nd, 2017.Ira was born May 7th, 1944 to Eldon and Jean Wishart who have preceded him in death. Ira worked at the Tool Crib for 30 plus years where he retired in 1999. He was an active member of Buffat Heights Baptist Church.

Ralph Bailey-age 94 of Washburn passed away Tuesday morning, December 26, 2017 at home. He was a member and deacon of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Retired employee of Lays Packing Company with 35 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, June Bailey; daughter, Georgetta; parents, Eck and Flora Bailey; sisters, Lucy Kate Nicely, Ruby Nicely, Lorene Nicely and Lois Muncey.

Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Coy and Sharon Bailey. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Nancy Carol “Hayo” Cox, age 69, of Knoxville, passed away surrounded by her family on December 24, 2017 after a long battle with dementia. She was born on April 6, 1948 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was a loving Christian and very devoted to her family. She loved doing for others. We will always love you more. Sally Grimes Berry-age 84 of Maynardville went on to be at peace Saturday morning, December 23, 2017 at her home. She was a member of Old Rugged Cross Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, Pat and Mary Pratt; sisters, Lizzie Ray, Lassie Ray, Jessie Sharp, Mossie Sands, Ruby Sharp, Dobie Maggie Ray; children, Shirley Noland, Helen Jordon, Lucille Russell; daughters-in-law, Patsy Grimes and Naomi Grimes; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.

Harley John Monroe

Harley John Monroe-age 87 of Sharps Chapel passed away peacefully Friday morning, December 22, 2017 at his home. Preceded in death by parents, Sterling Elmer Monroe and Lula Reinohl Monroe; wife of 44 years, Betty Holloway Monroe; brother, Bernard E. Monroe; son-in-law, David Kyle Clabough.

Richard Paul Ridenour, age 65, of Andersonville, passed away December 21, 2017. He was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. He was a hardworking man, working many years at Mynatt Hardware and most recently as a dairy farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Schylar & Cordia Ridenour; sisters, Hazel Thomas, Dorothy Ruth Hill, Maxine Ridenour; brothers, Ralph Ridenour, Conda Ridenour, and Arvlie Ridenour.
