Bruce Kevin Miles-age 57 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Friday, December 15, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident. He was a member of Meta4 Church and was faithful in attendance. Bruce was the assistant scout master of Troop 401 in Maynardville. Preceded in death by mother, Minnie Miles; grandmother, Rachel Shaffer.

Tammie Rebecca Gregg Vick

Tammie Rebecca Gregg Vick, age 51, of Powell, passed away December 15, 2017. She was a 1984 graduate of Powell High School. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Edith Gregg; siblings, Jimmy, Tommy, and Dennis. She is survived by her daughter, Brande Waddell and husband Darell; she was known as “Ne-Ne” to her grandchildren, Makynlee, Makynzee, and Trentin. She is also survived by her brother, Ken Gregg and wife Karen; sister, Linda Shelton and husband Jimmie; boyfriend, Chuck Norman; several nieces and nephews.

Paul E. Underwood

Paul E. Underwood, age 82, went to be with his heavenly Father on December 14, 2017. God saw you getting tired and your stay was not to be. He put His arms around you and whispered “Come with Me”. With tear filled eyes we watched you fade. Although we loved you deeply we knew that you could not stay. A gold heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest, our hearts were broken but it was God’s way of saying He only takes the best.

Trula White Hansard

Trula White Hansard, age 87, of Powell, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2017, at her home. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church (Norris Fwy.) and a devoted mother and loving wife. She retired from KOC after 21 years of service. She ran the dairy farm from 1959 to 1984. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Hansard by 11 years; her daughter Judy Hansard Kitts; brother C.A. White and parents Charlie and Minnie White.

MIchael "Mickey" Mulberry

Michael “Mickey” Mulberry, 48yrs, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on December 13, 2017 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Visitation will be available between 6pm and 7:30pm on Sunday, December 17th, at Mynatt Funeral Home, 4131 E. Emory Road. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation. Burial will be in Tampa Florida at the Gardens of Memories. Michael was born in Gainesville, Florida to Andy & Hilda Mulberry on May 25, 1969. In 1987, he graduated from Buchholz High School in Gainesville, FL and attended Santa Fe Community College.

Patricia Starrett-age 72 of Luttrell passed away peacefully Thursday, December 14, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was of the Baptist faith. Frances "Cookie" McConnell

Frances “Cookie” McConnell, age 85 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday December 14, 2017 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. She was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church. She retired from the Knox County School System as a longtime secretary at West, South, and South Young High Schools. Preceded in death by husband John R. McConnell. Survived by son John R. McConnell II and daughter-in-law Edith; son Dan Joseph McConnell and wife Jacqueline McConnell; daughter Beth Anne McConnell; grandchildren James Allan McConnell and wife Christina, J.D.

Floyd M. Stipes, age 72 of Knoxville, passed away December 13, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith. Floyd retired from Henley Roofing Company. Preceded in death by parents Floyd and Maude Stipes; brother Lewis Stipes; sister Grace Brady. Survived by life partner Debbie Rodrigues; son Danny and wife Trish Stipes; granddaughter Breana Stipes; sister Hazel Ellis; brother-in-law Kenneth Brady; four-legged dog companion Sweet-P. Family will receive friends 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet 10:45a.m.

Janet Marlene Fraley

Janet Marlene Fraley, age 67 of Maynardville, Tennessee and Paintsville, KY went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 11th at her home in Maynardville. She left this world surrounded with her loved ones singing her into the arms of the Lord. She was born on January 13, 1950 in Paintsville, KY to the late Delmar and Gladia Fraley. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Bud Fraley, Bill Fraley, Dean Fraley, David Fraley and her sisters Barb Maupin and Ann Treague.

Margaret Elizabeth Dalton

Margaret Elizabeth Dalton, 88, of the Gibbs Community went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2017. She was a life-time member of Clear Springs Baptist Church, Corryton. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Dalton, son Gregory, parents France and Hulda Parker, sisters Della, Dolly, Dora, and Creole, brothers Claude, Everette, Fred, and Sam Parker. She leaves to mourn her passing caregivers, Chris and Yvette Parker, Virginia and Donnie Schubert, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:45a.m.

Dortha Lee Young Harrell-age 75 of Washburn passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at her home. She was a member of Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by parents, Bailey and Mary Young; daughter, Marsha Coffey; grandson, Matthew Munsey; sister, Bennie Mae Fee; brother, Billy Young.

Billy J. Vandergriff-age 82 of Maynardville, born March 24, 1935 in Union County, Tennessee passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Willow Ridge in Maynardville. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by parents, Hassie and Allie Vandergriff; sister, Wanda Yardley; brother, Ken Vandergriff.

Raymond "Pap" Hensley

Raymond “Pap” Hensley-age 89 of Luttrell passed away peacefully Saturday, December 9, 2017 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Preceded in death by wife, Della Hensley; son, Everette “Bud” Hensley; son-in-law, Dale “Eddie” Douglas; parents, Robert and Lily Hensley; brothers, Jack, Everette, Verlin and J. C.; sister, Lela Kitts.

Winston Bullen Evans, age 86, a member of First Baptist Church of Powell, passed away at her home on December 9. Winston was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She is preceded in death by father James Bullen; mother Pearl Bullen; sister Gladys York; brother Paul Bullen; and infant son James Terrell Evans.

Cecil E. McMurray

Cecil E. McMurray, age 85, passed away December 8, 2017. He was a member of Loveland Baptist Church. Cecil was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a veteran of the US Army. Cecil was a self-employed mechanic for over 50 years. Preceded in death by parents Harvey and Leona McMurray; brother Austin McMurray.

James M. (Mike) Vandergriff, age 63, passed away 12-8-17. 1972 Honors Graduate (Halls High School). Mike was a lifelong resident of the Halls Community and Member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include: Wife of 44 years, Connie; Daughters and husbands, Rebecca (Daniel) Sutphin, Jenny (Bobby) Hassell, Amy (Nicholas) McGuire; 9 grandchildren Taylor, Oren, Callie, Ethan, Corban, Arlen, Lainey, Eamon, and Deacon; Mother and Step-dad, Mildred and Edsel Norris; Brothers and Wives, Greg (Susan), Doug (Pam), and Chris (Theresa) Vandergriff.

Kristina Nicole Raley

Kristina Nicole Raley-age 37 of Maynardville passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Zachary and Kaden; parents, H. I. and Cheryl Raley; sister, Jessica Raley; grandmother, Betty Moyers, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

B.H. Hodge, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Ft. Sanders Hospital. He and his wife, June (Tindell) Hodge, were married 59 wonderful years. God blessed their union with 3 children, Alecia (Bill), Brad (Terri) and Alan (and friend Barbara); 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Micah, Jonathan, Chase, Andrew and Annalisa; 2 great grandchildren, Natalie and Amelia. He is survived by sisters Doris Reeves, Karen (Terry) Shoffner; brother, Larry Hodge; and several nieces and nephews.
