Jeffery Lynn Berry
Jeffery Lynn Berry, born December 3, 1953 to Pat (Ramey) and Harley Berry in Knoxville, TN, passed peacefully away after a long battle with kidney disease on Friday, January 12, 2018. Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene (Ellis) Berry, brother Jay Daniels, Mother and Father, Grandparents Eunice and William C. Ramey, Aunts Betty Dowden, Joyce Wells, and Billie Bedwell, Uncles Glenn Wells and Robert Bedwell. Jeff was a graduate of Halls High School class of 1972. Soon after graduation he enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and served his country for four years. After serving his country, Jeff became a firefighter for the City of Knoxville and later the ETTP (formerly the K-25) site in Oak Ridge, TN. Mentored by his beloved aunt and uncle Ruby and Frank Ramey, Jeff was an accomplished musician who not only could sing but also composed guitar music and wrote heartfelt lyrics. He enjoyed recording his music as he played guitar and sang with his childen and grandchildren. Jeff leaves behind his daughters Patty Allen (husband Mike) and their children Reade, Kelly Mae, Rebekah Anne, Sawyer, and Laura Lee; Aimee Berry and her daughter Megan Bracy (husband Ryan) and their son Walter; Naomi Berry and her daughter Jayden Ford; Lorri (Ellis) Holbert (husband Chad) and their daughter Kampbelle. His sons Will (wife Wendi) and their daughters Makala and Chloe; Aaron John (AJ) Berry; Chris McKenzie and his children Nick, Riley, and Cayden; Cousins Jerry (Hank) Bedwell, Shannon (Bedwell) Talley, Danny Bedwell, Tony Bedwell, Jeanne (Ramey) Ellis, Cynthia (Ramey) Kregiil, Anita (Ramey) Wimberly, Teresa (Dowden) Fritz-Powers, James Dowden, Beverly (Wells) Coppock, Rick Wells, and Jamie Wells. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm. Rev. Scott Thomas officiating. Friends and family will meet 11:15 am, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway where Jeff will be honored with the "Fireman's Bell" Ceremony and fill military honors.
