He was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel. Preceded in death by wife, Jeanette (Collins) Carter; parents, Frank and Daisy Carter; brothers, John Carter, Charles Carter and Tony Carter; brother-in-law, Audy Keck.

Jeffrey Glen Brown-age 55 of Maynardville went peacefully to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, December 3, 2024 at his home. He is a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Glen and Donna Jean Brown; sister, Shelia Cheney and brother-in-law, Ricky Tharp; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Dora Tharp.

Frank William Thomas, Jr.

Frank William Thomas, Jr.-age 61 of Kodak, Tennessee passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home after a brave battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Willie and Mary Tharp and Charles and Marion Thomas, all from Maynardville. Mother-in-law, Louise Talley and sister-in-law, Betty McKinney. Several beloved aunts and uncles.

Harold L. Moore

Harold Lynn Moore – 97 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord November 24, 2024. He was the oldest son of Vaughn and Edith (Ailor) Moore. Harold was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School and The University of Tennessee and a U. S. Navy Veteran. He retired in 2000 as Vice President of First State Bank. Harold loved his country, his family and The Vols!

Ossie Irwin, Jr.

Ossie Irwin, Jr., affectionately known as “Papaw”, was born on June 4, 1945, and peacefully passed away on November 27, 2024. A devoted family man and cherished friend, Ossie’s life was marked by his unwavering love for his family, his faith, and his passion for music. He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1965 – 1971, where he demonstrated his commitment to his country. Ossie was a dedicated member of New Beverly Baptist Church, where his faith guided him and inspired those around him.

Lorene Beeler Ogle

Lorene Beeler Ogle-age 84 of Luttrell, born February 3, 1940 went home to be with past friends, family and the Lord Monday, November 25, 2024 peacefully at home with loved ones present. Lorene is reunited in Heaven with husband, Sam Ogle, parents, Clarence and Estelle Beeler, brothers, Wayne Beeler and Rev. Glen Beeler.

Richard Cooper

Richard Clayton Cooper – age 57 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024 after a long battle of pancreatitis, while surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by father and mother, H. Clayton and Judy Cooper; son, Daniel (Andrea) Lewis; daughter, Angel (Kase) Owens; grandchildren, Madelyne (James) Lineham, Mayson O’Dell; and Bayleigh and Benjamin Lewis; great granddaughter, Lakin; sisters, Julie (James) DeVault and Angie (James) Clay; brother, Chris (Amanda) Cooper; nieces and nephews, Hannah, Trent, Makayla, Parker, Maleaha, Meah and Hayden.

Rev. Gary Otis Tye

Rev. Gary Otis Tye -age 75 of Speedwell, Tennessee went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 24th at Oak Ridge Medical Center at 2:30am after a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and cancer. He was born on July 30, 1949, in Wofford KY to the late Fred and Jessie Tye.

Cyndy Szekeres Prozzo, a renowned children’s book author and illustrator whose enchanting animal characters delighted generations, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at the age of 91 in Maryville, TN. Born on October 31, 1933, in Fairfield, CT, she was the cherished daughter of Stephen and Anna Szekeres.

Regina Lynn (McCoy) Dotson

Regina Lynn McCoy Dotson, age 59, of the Hickory Star Community in Maynardville, TN, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 21, 2024 in the comfort of her home. She was born January 17, 1965 in Lorain, OH. Preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Ricky Dean Dotson; father, Donald McCoy; mother, Wilma Helmandollar Blackburn; and sister, Rhonda York.

Kay Whetsell

Kay Frances Taylor Howard Welch Whetsell – age 88 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Knoxville. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Kay was born on February 15, 1935 in Knoxville to Arlee Taylor and Hazel (Cook) Taylor. She enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing and playing Bingo. Kay was employed by Standard Knitting Mill for 20 years. She was a member or Texas Valley Church.

Preceded in death by husband, Carroll G. Keen; daughter, Anita Atkins, grandson, Justin Keen; parents, Edward L. Sharp; Nola (Hankins) Sharp-Patty; stepfather, John Patty; son-in-law, Gregory Harmon; brothers, E. L. Sharp and Robert Sharp.

Timothy Alan Sellers

Tim Alan Sellers – age 59 of Strawberry Plains, passed suddenly November 19, 2024 at North Knox Medical Center. He was a friendly man who never met a stranger.

He is survived by wife of 27 years, Regina (Peters) Sellers; daughters, Marissa (Joey) Phillips and Amanda Sellers; grandchildren, Hayden, Theo and Declan Phillips; parents, Glenn and Wanda Sellers; sister, Jani (Mike) Chollman; and brother, Chris (Lindy) Sellers.

Oralia De Leon Briano – age 63 of Strawberry Plains, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 28, 2024 surrounded by her family. She enjoyed walking, cooking, working in her garden and walking with her dog. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ana Lopez and Arnulfo De Leon; brother, Jose Luis De Leon.

She is survived by her husband, Ruben Briano; children, Dalila Leek (Josh), Ruben Briano (Emily), Cindy Briano (Tanh); grandchildren, Alexia Leek, Jacob Cao, Catherine Davenport, Sophia Briano, Ana Lucia Cao; three sisters and six brothers, many nieces and nephews.

Steven Earl Miracle

Steven Earl Miracle-age 64 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Saturday afternoon, November 9, 2024, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was a retired truck driver with ABF Freight Line and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother and uncle. He loved his animals especially the squirrels and chipmunks. Preceded in death by son, Steven Miracle, Jr., father, Eugene Miracle, sisters, Angie Miracle and Paula Killion; nephew, Dustin Wilson.

Rozella Wallace-age 75 of Luttrell passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Willow Ridge Center. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church of God. She loved to sing in church, gardening and being outdoors. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Zettie Harless; brother, Don Harless.

His professional career spanned over four decades as a skilled baker, and he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
