James (Jim) Thomas Carter-age 75 of Sharps Chapel, born April 3, 1949 passed away Wednesday morning, December 4, 2024 at Willow Ridge Center, Maynardville. He was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel. Preceded in death by wife, Jeanette (Collins) Carter; parents, Frank and Daisy Carter; brothers, John Carter, Charles Carter and Tony Carter; brother-in-law, Audy Keck.

He is survived by daughter, Melissa (Carter) Dykes; granddaughters, Cassie Dykes and Katie Dykes; sister, Barbara Keck; sisters-in-law, Madeline (Cricket) Carter, Francis Carter and Sheila (Collins) Mason. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Willow Ridge Center, Maynardville for their loving care.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Saturday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jason Walker officiating with music Debbie Rowe and the Oak Grove Youth Group. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024, Taylor’s Grove Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 1 p.m. Sunday to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Jake Carter, Casey Sollars, Greg Carter, Cody Carter, Jim Carmen, Austin Massengill.
