Clyde Milas Welch

Clyde Milas Welch, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away on June 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Preceded in death by parents, Fowler and Velma Welch; brother, Jack Welch; mother-in-law, Bertie Sexton. He leaves behind wife of 54 years, Joyce Ann Welch; daugthers, Andrea Welch, Contessa Welch; son, Isaac Welch; grandchildren, Weston Welch, Christian Perkey, Alesha Reeves and Hay’le Muncey; sisters, loving sister Gail (Vince) Johnson, Elizabeth (Gary) Linder.

Juanita Byrd

Juanita Byrd, of Middleburg, FL, formerly of Knoxville, passed away June 24, 2017. She was a long-time member of Sharon Baptist Church. Juanita retired from Home Federal Bank after many dedicated years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodward H. Byrd; her parents, Bonnie and Homer Walker; and her brother, Allen Walker. She is survived by her son, Henry Byrd and his wife, Linda; granddaughters, Meredith Dunn and Stephanie Smith; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Norma Walker.

Fred Edward Henry

Fred Edward Henry, age 86, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell for 51 years as a teacher and leader. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Fred attended Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy. He was the owner of Powell Scale Company. Fred loved his family, hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Josie Henry; brothers Richard and Clyde Henry; sister Evelyn Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are wife of 64 years Eloise Henry; sons Fred (Danita) Henry, Jr.

Blake Edward Switow

Blake Edward Switow, age 19, of Knoxville passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Blake was an old soul who loved history, politics, classic movies and music, historic homes and war memorials, and spending time with his family and friends. Preceded in death by Walter the Prosperous Kitty.

George William "G" Richardson

George "G" William Richardson, age 81 of Halls, went home to be with his Savior on Monday, June 26th, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents Bon and Trula Richardson, sister and brother-in-law Helen and Troy Parker, and brothers Troy and Carl Richardson. He is survived by sisters Joyce (Wally) Edwards and Shirley (Jim) Bunch, aunt Marie Kidwell, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sebern Huskey

Sebern A. Huskey, Jr. age 79 of Knoxville passed away June 26, 2017. He worked most of his life in construction and served in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors wife JoAnn Huskey, son Terry and wife Dana Huskey of Ohio, stepchildren Glenn and wife Angie Medley of Chattanooga, Randall and wife Debbie Medley and children of Knoxville and Karen Ferguson and children, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will meet 1:45 pm Friday at Middle Creek Cemetery for a graveside service at 2pm.

Ann Louise Ailor

Ann Louise Ailor, age 83, of Knoxville, passed away June 26, 2017. Member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Willard Lennon and Retha Brannon. Survivors: husband, Jim Ailor. Sons, Dennis (Debbie) Ailor, Mike Ailor, Terry (Nancy) Ailor and Jerry Ailor. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, and nieces and nephews. Flossie Jane (Summers) Stinnett, age 86, of Mascot, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 25, 2017. She was a member of Loveland Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband James Stinnett; parents Perry and Leela Summers; brothers Everette and Earl Summers; sister-in-law Gracie Summers. She is survived by brothers, Gene Summers (Mildred), Dee Summers (Jo), and Lee Summers (Janetta); sister-in-law Mary Summers; host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Lorne Tolliver

Lorne Tolliver – age 59 of Sharps Chapel, was born August 15, 1957. He went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 23, 2017 at home. Lorne was saved at a young age and was a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Sharps Chapel. Lorne worked for the Union County Sheriff Department with people that he considered family. He had a heart of gold and loved helping others with no thought of getting anything in return. Lorne never met a stranger. When he loved, he loved with everything in him.

James "Jim" King

James “Jim” King – age 74 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Jim was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church for 43 years. He was owner and operator of Begard Impression Products in the 1980’s and then continued on in sales until he retired. Jim transitioned into becoming the Attendance Clerk for Union County High School. He was known for his sense of humor and his thoughtfulness of everyone.

Rev. Billy Lee Needham

Rev. Billy Lee Needham-age 79 of Washburn passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his home with his family and friends. He was the pastor and member of Needham Chapel Church and had pastored several area churches in his career. U. S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by parents, Basil and Mossie Needham, four sisters, three brothers.

Deborah Diane Norris

At 11.40am 12th June 2017 my dear loving wife of fifteen years Deborah Diane Norris went to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. She left behind three adult children, Daniel Vantuyl, Dean Vantuyl and Melinda Atkins and a good number of grandchildren. We take comfort knowing that she would have run through those pearly gates straight into those loving arms of Jesus and knowing she has not stopped overflowing with exuberant joy and happiness since she got there. It is a comfort to know there are no more tears, pain or sickness.

Donna Gail Chittum Boggs

Donna Gail Chittum Boggs, age 58, of Knoxville, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2017. She was a member of Hinds Creek Baptist Church and a dedicated mother and wife. Donna enjoyed many types of crafting, painting, embroidery, and gardening. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Chittum; father, Robert Chittum; and brother, Jack Chittum.

Eva Greene Johnson

Eva Greene Johnson, born July 11,1946 , went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 19, 2017. She was a member of Greene's Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Emma Jane Greene; sister, Margaret Johnson; brothers, Robert and Ben Greene. She is survived by her daughter Gerry Dunlap and son in law Daniel Dunlap; son Roy Wayne Killion Jr.; grandchildren Casey Sams, Wayne Killion, Autumn Killion, Sarah Killion, Sam Killion, and Paige Reed.

Matthew William Neeham

Matthew William Needham, age 42, of Knoxville passed away June 17, 2017. Matthew was a 1993 graduate of Powell High School and attended Union Baptist Church in Halls. He had a passion for his family, and loved fishing and hunting. Preceded in death by father, Robert “Bob” Needham. Survived by wife of 19 years, Rosey Needham; daughter, Whitney Needham; son, Kyle Needham; mother, Pat Needham; brother, Wade Needham; sister, Mary Ann Finger; and several nieces and nephews.

George Timothy (Tim) Suffridge

George Timothy (Tim) Suffridge-age 46 of Knoxville passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by parents, Thomas Allen and Jennie Faye Suffridge; grandparents, Everett and Mossie Harrell; Doyle and Eva Suffridge; aunts, Kay Nicley, Diane Williams, Sue England.

Johnny Ray Janeway

Johnny Ray Janeway-age 63 of Knoxville took his Heavenly flight on Father’s Day, June 18, 2017 at his home. He was a member of American Baptist Church. Johnny was a retired employee of the University of Tennessee Athletic Department with 41 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Ray and Frances (Nelson) Janeway.

Reverend Dewey Raley

Reverend Dewey George Raley – born July 16, 1924, passed away Thursday afternoon June 15, 2017 at Trinity Hills Senior Living with family by his side. Stephanie sang him into the arms of Jesus. A WWII U. S. Navy Veteran, he served aboard the USS Huse (DE-145) Atlantic Fleet and the USS Vulcan (AR-5) Pacific Fleet. After service to his country he enlisted into the service of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He pastored churches in Union, Grainger, Anderson, Knox and Loudon Counties. His greatest joy was spreading the Gospel.

Nella Faye Muncey Atkins

Nella Faye Muncey Atkins-age 76 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Nella is the last surviving child of a family of 13; the children of the late Bill and Lilly Muncey to include sisters: Ina Tharp, Alverta Wyrick, Ruth Wallace, Betty Jane Mynatt, Mossie Hensley, Trula Seymour; brothers: Clyde, Claude, Hubert, Arthur, Martin and Junior Muncey. Nella is survived by her husband: Donald Atkins of Luttrell. Several nieces and nephews.
