Kaylie Alise Talbott

Kaylie Talbott-age 19 of Luttrell, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, July 31, 2017. Preceded in death by grandfather “Pop”, Samuel Charles Talbott; and grandfather, Bill Wallace; and special aunt, Misty Wallace. She is survived by father, Samuel Charles Talbott, II (Sammy); mother, Tandy Vanzant and husband Randy; siblings, Lilly, Jesse, and Hunter Vanzant, and Samuel Hayden Bailey; grandmothers Patty Talbott (Grandma), Imogene Parker (Granny); and special aunt Lisa Armentrout “Gooey”; and many other loving family members.

Timothy O. Clabough

Timothy Orel Clabough-age 58 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 30, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by parents, William and Alice Clabough; brothers, John William, Glenn and Rex; sister, Debbie.

Linda Carol Quillen

Linda Carol Quillen, 71 of Rockford, TN passed away quietly Friday, July 28, 2017 with her family at her bedside. She was born to the late Clifford Webb and Martha Jane Spears on November 25, 1946 in Puttnam County Tennessee. Linda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Knoxville West Ward. Linda was a caring, strong willed and loving soul. She cared about people, often taking strangers in and caring for their emotional and physical health. She also was a home health nurse for many years.

Betty Jean Ellis Shultz

Betty Jean Ellis Shultz, age 85, passed away on July 26, 2017. She was a member at Salem Baptist Church. Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by husband Charles Preston Shultz Sr.; parents Dewey and Bertha Ellis; and brother Bob Ellis.

Clarence Ross Bryant

Clarence Ross Bryant, age 66, of Knoxville, passed away July 24, 2017. He was a member of Knoxville Primitive Baptist Church. Clarence was honored to serve his country in the United States Air Force. Wilma Waggoner Coffey, 72 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 with her family at her side. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Coffey; daughter, Debra Livingston; parents, Jim Waggoner and Thelma Painter’ step-mother, Nell Waggoner; brother-in-law, Jack Welch; niece, Crissy Sexton; father and mother-in-law, O.H. and Katerine Coffey. Wilma is survived by daughters, Cathy (Steve) Hunley and Jessica O’Baugh; son-in-law Kevin Livingston; grandchildren, Jonathon, Victoria, Zacherey, Kristina, Jackson and Cash.

Dennis Ray Carpenter

Dennis Ray Carpenter, 55 of Corryton went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Dennis was born to the late Bill R. and Evelyn J. King Carpenter on June 15, 1962 in Knoxville. He enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing. He loved his church and was known as a giving person. It brought a smile to his face when he knew he was helping others. He loved spending time with his family, surrounded by his grandchildren made him the happiest. Dennis was a long-time Knox County employee where he worked many years in the body shop.

Tyler Jacob Lakin- September 24, 1990- July 23, 2017. Timothy Ray “Tim” Smith age 46 of Andersonville, passed away suddenly Sunday, July 23, 2017. Tim was an employee of Ready Mix U.S.A for 25 years. He enjoyed riding 4 wheelers and being Papaw to his grandchildren.

Garland "Jack' Monroe

Garland “Jack” Monroe-age 85 of Knoxville went to sleep to be with his Lord, Jesus, Tuesday morning, July 25, 2017 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church, Birchleaf, Virginia; U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War; retired employee of A. T. & T. with 39 years service. Preceded in death by son, Jackie Monroe; mother, Beulah Owens Monroe.

Survivors: wife, Maxie Raley Monroe, Knoxville; daughter, Vicki Lambert, Knoxville; son, Greg Monroe, Maryville. Granddaughter, Dr. Elizabeth Lambert of Virginia.

Frances Gwendolyn Brock

Frances Gwendolyn “Gwen” Brock, went to her heavenly home to be with her heavenly father in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 22nd, 2017. Gwen was a retiree of Alpha Industries. She loved to go shopping and she had a great affinity for the music of Eric Clapton. She loved to play Red Ace with her close friends at the Moose Lodge. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. First and foremost, she loved her family. Gwen is preceded in death by her loving husband Herbert Kermit “Bobo” Brock, parents Sammy and Sarah Baker, brother Edgar Baker, sister-in-law Betty Shelley and in-laws Mr.

Bonnie Jean York

Bonnie Jean Parsley York-age 76 of Knoxville passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Physicians Regional Medical Center. She was of The Church of God faith and was a beloved wife and sister.

Alvin Glenn Frye

Alvin Glenn Frye, age 93, of Fountain City, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and served in World War II and the Korean War as a Corpsman. He was an active member of the Fountain City Lions Club, honorary member of the North Knoxville Rotary Club, and owner and operator of Fountain City Exxon.

Linda Sue Johnson, age 77, of Knoxville, has finally seen the face of Jesus, something she longed for on July 17, 2017. She is survived by the ones she laughed with, lived for, and loved on. She was kind and beautiful inside and out and loved her children and grandchildren with her unfailing passionate heart. She retired from Plasti-line, Inc. J.C. Wolfenbarger

J.C. Wolfenbarger, age 90, entered his eternal home Thursday July 20, 2017. Preceded in death by parents Cal and Martha Wolfenbarger; an infant brother and a most beloved son Dennis Wolfenbarger. Survived by his loving wife of 69 years Hope Farmer Wolfenbarger; sons Michael, William, and Steve Wolfenbarger; daughters-in-law Dianne, Suzanne, and Angel; granddaughters, Kimberley, Kelley, and Bridgette; grandsons, Blake and Drew; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Georgella Rogers; nieces and nephews, special friends Neil and Linda Smith.

Wesley Eugene Key

Wesley Eugene Key, age 63 of Knoxville, TN, went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2017 and is now gloriously singing with the angels. Wesley always met you with a smile on his face and a joke to make you laugh. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He loved to travel to the Outer Banks of NC and driving his Dodge pick-up truck. Wesley loved all animals, but had a special place in his heart for his beloved Miracle. He was an AMAZING singer, an inspiring choir leader and talented guitar and auto harp player.

Jacob Jake Franklin Butcher

Jacob “Jake” Franklin Butcher passed away on July 19, 2017 at the age of 81 after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Jake was born May 8, 1936 to Cecil H. Butcher, Sr. and Kate Walters Butcher in the rural town of Maynardville, Tennessee. Jake attended Maynardville High School and later the University of Tennessee and Hiwassee College.  After college, he joined the United States Marine Corps serving primarily in Korea, Japan and Marine Corps Air Station El Toro.  Jake always held the Marine Corps close to his heart.  He married Broadway actress and Oak Ridge native Sonya Wilde in 1962 and together they had four children, Maria (Randy) Loyd, Scarlett (Tim) Current, Brad (Leigh Ann) Butcher and Jason (Ashley) Butcher.  Jake and Sonya also have 8 grandchildren, Kendall Loyd White, Austin Loyd, McCall Current, Joshua Current, Colby Butcher, Katelyn Butcher, Jace Butcher and Olivia Butcher, and 2 great grandchildren, Abigail and Judah White.  During his long life, he treasured his family and they all adored him.

Gary Danny Smith

Gary Danny Smith age 69 of Maynardville, formerly of Luttrell went to be with the Lord, Thursday evening, July 20, 2017 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Bronze Star while serving in Nha Trang, South Vietnam with the 14th Security Police Squadron. Preceded in death by parents, Tivis and Lucy Smith; sisters, Ruby Donahue, Wilma Wolfe and Reba Householder Peterson; brothers, Toots, J. T. and Dickie Smith; nephew, Larry Smith, Darrell Donahue; niece, Patsy Griffey.
