Frances Qualls Nixon

Frances Qualls Nixon, age 96, passed away July 5, 2017. She loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Laurel Church of Christ. One of the many ways Frances showered love on others was at Children’s Hospital where she volunteered for over 27 years. Frances was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. They all have wonderful memories of their special times with Nana. Frances is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Thomas Baird Nixon, parents Buck and Belle Qualls and sister, Marjorie Helen Cook.

Rachel Ann Cox

Rachel Ann Cox – infant daughter of Brandi Sharp and Rickey Cox went to be in the arms of the Lord on July 1, 2017.

Rachel is survived by her parents, Brandi Sharp and Rickey Cox; sisters, Kathy Parton and Laura Monroe; brother, Wyatt Cox; grandparents, Amy and Sam Evans and Gary and Wanda Sharp; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and two adorable nephews.

Alberta "Bertie" Marie McLemore

Alberta “Bertie” Marie McLemore, age 65, of Knoxville, has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ June 30, 2017. She was a member of the Church of God. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, and doing crossword puzzles. Bertie cared for the elderly and disabled in many capacities over the last 30 years. She loved telling others about the Greatness of the Lord. She was preceded in death by son Anthony “Tony” Wayne McLemore; sister, Bessie Eulene Stiles; nephew Steve Atchley.

Beth Scates

Beth Erin Scates, age 37, passed away suddenly June 30, 2017. She graduated from Halls High School in 1996. She loved to watch movies and enjoyed swimming. Her smile could light up a room and warm a heart. Preceded in death by father Wayne Scates. She is survived by sons Tyler Scates, of Johnson City, Tucker Scates, of Halls, and Tres Scates; daughter Tatum Carter of Knoxville; mother Debbie Scates of Halls; brother Nathan Scates, of Powell; special friend Joseph Carter. Family will receive friends Saturday July 8, 2017 from 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m. service to follow at 3:00p.m.

Ethel Louise McLemore

Ethel Louise McLemore, age 62 of Knoxville, TN passed away June 30, 2017. She was a former employee at Hillcrest North and NHC Healthcare. Preceded in death by husband Charles Baker McLemore; grandchildren Brandon James McLemore and Cody Michael Dunnam; siblings Betsey Styles and Alberta McLemore; parents Earl and Margaret McHaffie.

Patricia Ann Majority

Patricia Ann Majority, age 63, passed away July 3, 2017. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald & Phyllis Stewart. Survivors include her husband, Frank Majority; daughter, April (Dwayne) Weaver; granddaughters, Alexis, Emily, and Chloe; sister, Diana (Bob) Pratt, and Carla (Emory) Cain; brother, Donald Stewart, Jr.; step-daughter, Lisa Nielsen. Family will receive friends 6-8PM Wednesday at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.

Julia Anne Leatherwood

Julia Anne Leatherwood, 31, of Knoxville broke free of her chains to walk the streets of gold on June 28, 2017. She is preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Blanche Bowman and Othell and Mae Leatherwood. Survived by son Gabriel Smith; mother Carol Moore and father Joseph Leatherwood (wife Keyla); brothers Joshua Leatherwood (wife Courtney), Daniel Moore, Richard Moore, and Phillip Moore; sister Bo Leatherwood; step brothers Travis Moore and Ryan Moore; nephew Lincoln Leatherwood; and long-time boyfriend Justin Suhr. Julia was an in-home caregiver with a servant's heart.

Edna Inez Capps

Edna Inez (Thomas) Capps-age 84 of Halls went with her Lord and Savior to her Heavenly Home Friday, June 30, 2017. She was the 5th of six children born to Paris and Reva (Rosenbalm) Thomas, born on November 15, 1932. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ and her family with all her heart and soul. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Cecil E. Capps; brothers and their wives, Vick and Elsie Thomas, Ray and Lorene Thomas; sisters and their husbands, Vera and Paris Walker, Ora Bell and Dot Haynes.

Isaac Reis Parks

Isaac Reis Parks, age 34, passed away on June 22, 2017. Isaac was an amazing man with a big heart who was known for making people laugh. He was a hard worker and employee of Interstate Mechanical Contractors. He enjoyed frisbee golf, music, the outdoors and watching his son play baseball. Isaac was a devoted husband, father, son and brother who will be always missed and never forgotten. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John T. and Betty J. Linda Sue Whitson

Linda Sue Whitson, 68 of Powell went home to be with her Lord on June 27, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and June Hughes; son, James Byrd, brothers, Curtis, James and Mark Hughes. Linda is survived by her husband William (Jabo) of 50 years; son, Tony Byrd; daughters, Tammy Whitson and Tina Varner; grandchildren, Jacob, Breanna, Tony, Gracie, and Natalie. Additional survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and her beloved pet “Little Man”.

Calvin L. Robinson

Calvin L. Robinson, 75 of Knoxville passed away quietly on Wednesday June 28, 2017. He was born February 17, 1942 to the late Merle and Kathleen Robinson in Knoxville. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brother Wayne (Judy) Robinson of Knoxville; niece Julie (Brian) Asbell; great-nephew Mason Asbell. Betty Irene Hurst

Betty Irene Cutshaw Hurst, age 77 of Knoxville, passed away June 27, 2017. Preceded in death by husband John C. Hurst; infant son David Michael Hurst; granddaughter Brittney Cheyenne Parrott. Survived by daughters Edith Hurst Shultz and Debbie Hurst Parton; grandchildren Justin Keith Shultz, Elizabeth, Daniel, John, and Paul Parton; sister Phyllis Jean Franklin. William Jeffrey Lowery

William Jeffrey Lowery age 51 passed away June 22, 2017. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a loving husband and father who adored his children, he loved being outdoors, fishing, grilling out, listening to music and hanging out with his family and friends. He was a wonderful artist and loved to use his talent to bring joy to others. Preceded in death by father David Jones, brothers Allen Bruner and Wayne Lowery and grandparents Sarah and Frank Wilson.

Clyde Milas Welch

Clyde Milas Welch, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away on June 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Preceded in death by parents, Fowler and Velma Welch; brother, Jack Welch; mother-in-law, Bertie Sexton. He leaves behind wife of 54 years, Joyce Ann Welch; daugthers, Andrea Welch, Contessa Welch; son, Isaac Welch; grandchildren, Weston Welch, Christian Perkey, Alesha Reeves and Hay’le Muncey; sisters, loving sister Gail (Vince) Johnson, Elizabeth (Gary) Linder.

Juanita Byrd

Juanita Byrd, of Middleburg, FL, formerly of Knoxville, passed away June 24, 2017. She was a long-time member of Sharon Baptist Church. Juanita retired from Home Federal Bank after many dedicated years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodward H. Byrd; her parents, Bonnie and Homer Walker; and her brother, Allen Walker. She is survived by her son, Henry Byrd and his wife, Linda; granddaughters, Meredith Dunn and Stephanie Smith; 7 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Norma Walker.

Fred Edward Henry

Fred Edward Henry, age 86, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Powell for 51 years as a teacher and leader. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Fred attended Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy. He was the owner of Powell Scale Company. Fred loved his family, hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by parents Robert and Josie Henry; brothers Richard and Clyde Henry; sister Evelyn Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are wife of 64 years Eloise Henry; sons Fred (Danita) Henry, Jr.

Blake Edward Switow

Blake Edward Switow, age 19, of Knoxville passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home surrounded by family. Blake was an old soul who loved history, politics, classic movies and music, historic homes and war memorials, and spending time with his family and friends. Preceded in death by Walter the Prosperous Kitty.

George William "G" Richardson

George "G" William Richardson, age 81 of Halls, went home to be with his Savior on Monday, June 26th, 2017. He was preceded in death by parents Bon and Trula Richardson, sister and brother-in-law Helen and Troy Parker, and brothers Troy and Carl Richardson. He is survived by sisters Joyce (Wally) Edwards and Shirley (Jim) Bunch, aunt Marie Kidwell, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to express a Special Thank You to the Staff of the 7 South floor at U.T. Medical Center.

Sebern Huskey

Sebern A. Huskey, Jr. age 79 of Knoxville passed away June 26, 2017. He worked most of his life in construction and served in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors wife JoAnn Huskey, son Terry and wife Dana Huskey of Ohio, stepchildren Glenn and wife Angie Medley of Chattanooga, Randall and wife Debbie Medley and children of Knoxville and Karen Ferguson and children, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will meet 1:45 pm Friday at Middle Creek Cemetery for a graveside service at 2pm.
