Leonard Kwiatkowski-age 75 of Powell passed away Tuesday, March 7,2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a retired truck driver.

Preceded in death by wife, Kay Hutchinson Kwiatkowski; brothers, Hank Kwiatkowski, Steve Kwiatkowski, Robert Kwiatkowski, Michael Kwiatkowski; sister, Barbara Frantz.

Jamie Rouse

James Stanley “Jamie” Rouse-age 58 of Maynardville passed away Monday, March 6,2023 at Park West Medical Center.
Preceded in death by parents, Arie and JoAnn Rouse; brother, Johnny Rouse.

Survivors: wife of 24 years, Lisa Rouse; daughters, Megan Harris and husband Ryan, Tina Rouse, Sara Rouse; sons, Joshua Rouse, Matthew Rouse, Mark Rouse; eight grandchildren; sisters, Judy Collins and husband Mikel, Becky Rouse, Janice England and husband Jerry; brother, Jerry Rouse and Tammy along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gregory Allen Nicely

Gregory Allen Nicely-age 53 of Washburn, formerly of Maynardville sadly left us on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Survivors: wife, Sherry Nicely; stepchildren, Brittany Bowlin and husband Nathan, Jessica Daniel and husband Charles, Ricky Kitts and wife Jessica; along with a host of step grandchildren.

Memorial service 1 PM, Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Rev. Tony Day officiating and music by Linda & Richard Nicely. In lieu of flowers donations may be made for expenses at the funeral home. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.

Billy Ray Chesney

Bill Chesney-age 73 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was a member of Mountain View Church of God in Luttrell. Bill was an excavator and heavy equipment operator along with being a farmer.
Preceded in death by granddaughter, Erica Buckner; parents, Horace and Bertha (Bailey) Chesney; sisters, Mary Lee Chesney, Betty Chesney, Kate Larmer, Gladys Farmer; brothers, Richard “Dick” Chesney, Frank Chesney and Roy Chesney.

William C. "W.C". Hall

William C. “W. C.” Hall – age 96 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, March 4,2023 at U. T. Medical Center. He attended New Friendship Baptist Church. He retired from his work in Michigan and moved back home to Tennessee in 1982 and enjoyed his retirement of farming and cattle. Preceded in death by wife, Louise Hall; sons, Joey Hall, Billy Hall and Donald Hall; parents, Anderson and Stella Hall; brothers, Lloyd Hall and Teddy Hall.

Vernon Leach

Vernon Leach-age 66 of New Tazewell passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at U. T. Medical Center. Preceded in death by son, Charles Leach; daughter, Raven Kay Leach; parents, Charlie and Ann Lee (Barnard) Leach.

Survivors: sister, Margaret Smallwood of Sharps Chapel; brothers, Johnny Leach of Sharps Chapel; Rick Leach and Roger Leach, both of Speedwell. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Gary Eugene Nicely

Gary Eugene Nicely-age 72 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord, Sunday evening, February 26,2023 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Taylors Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a self-employed General Contractor and a U.S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by parents, Curtis Wade Nicely, Sr. and Mollie Cash Nicely; daughter, Lindsey Rae Anderson; sisters, Peggy Earl and Mary Jessee; brother, David Nicely.

Linda Shope

Linda Shope – age 58 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2023.

She is preceded in death by husband, Alfred Gene Shope, Sr.; father, Calvin Jesse Stafford and mother, Lucy Miller. Linda is survived by son, Alfred Gene Shope, Jr.; daughters, Jenny Marie Shope, Taylor Leanne Shope and Abigail Rose Shope; grandson, Ezekiel Chase Klimek; favorite nephew, Jacob Foust; along with a host of family and friends.

Rev. Jerry G. Sexton

Reverend Jerry Gaylord Sexton (71) of Maynardville, TN, passed away after a long illness on February 23, 2023. Jerry was born October 12, 1951, and grew up among friends and family in what he referred to as Kettle Hollow. He was a talented builder, and many beautiful homes in the area were built by him. He learned early how to complete every step of his craft from the blueprints to the final polish. Many late nights were spent drawing or figuring on houses. He enjoyed recycling material from old barns and finding stone in rivers to add historical meaning to his structures.

Michael David Russell

Michael David Russell-age 64 of Luttrell passed away Wednesday morning, February 22,2023 at his home. He was a member of New Christian Rest Missionary Baptist. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a retired heavy equipment operator in Excavation. In his spare-time he enjoyed fishing with his grandkids and being on the lake.

Preceded in death by mother, Joyce Ann Russell; sister, Tracy Russell; brother, James Russell.

Jim Campbell

James “Jim” A. Campbell – age 73 of Maynardville, passed away February 21, 2023 at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. Jim was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Jim retired from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office as a Detective with 34 years of service and was one of the first Motorcycle Units with the department. No matter how he felt he was a big jokester and always could make you laugh and smile. He was the “self-proclaimed Mayor” of Cedar Grove Marina.

Michael Bradley Tolliver

Michael Bradley Tolliver-age 54 of Luttrell passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at his home. Member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Preceded in death by mother, Barbara Sue (Wyrick) Rutherford; father, Bradley Tolliver; brother, Russell Luke Tolliver; sister, Rebecca Pierce.

James Mackenzie

James Mackenzie- born July 11, 1936, passed away February 21, 2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was born in Toronto, Canada and was a naturalized US Citizen.

He is preceded in death by parents, Millicent and Andrew Mackenzie. James is survived by wife, Patsy Sharp Mackenzie; and four children.

Henry R. Webb

Henry R. Webb-age 79 passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, with his wife of 61 years Betty Webb by his side. He was a member of Nave Hill Baptist Church in Maynardville.

Preceded in death by his son, Timothy Webb; grandson Allen Wayne Webb; parents William & Lona Webb; brother Herman Webb and sister Patricia Jones.

Sylvia Carolyn Beeler

Sylvia Carolyn Beeler-age 83 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away Sunday morning, February 19,2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a born again Christian and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She is gone to be with the Lord and is resting in his arms. She had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone in need. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren with all of her heart.

Preceded in death by daughter, Connie Beeler Campbell and son, Gary Wade Beeler.

Lois Ann Presley-age 73 of New Tazewell passed away Saturday morning, February 18, 2023 at her home. She was a member of Straight Creek Baptist Church. Preceded in death by son, Jeffrey Alan Sweet; father, William Columbus Presley; mother, Eliza Martha Jane (Shoffner) Presley; sisters, Virgie Presley Bunker; Wilma Jean Presley Evans; Jessie Lee Presley Cole; brothers, William (Junior) Presley; Harold Presley; Lowell Presley; David Presley; Charles Presley.

Mary Elizabeth Forrest

Mary Elizabeth Forrest-age 78 of Luttrell passed away Friday morning, February 17, 2023 at Claiborne Medical Center. She was of the Church of God faith. Preceded in death by parents, Bill and Susie Taylor.

Survivors: husband of 24 years, Douglas Forrest of Luttrell; daughter, Paula Bailey of Knoxville; step-children, Michael Forrest, Edward James Forrest, Rachel Stacy, Wendy Summers, Carl Huffman, Douglas Forrest. Grandchildren, Keisha Keen, Tiffany Bailey, Amanda Bailey, Dakota Huffman, Jacob Huffman, Kaitlin Huffman, Logan Forrest, Destiny Cary. Several great-grandchildren.
