Willie Eugene Lawson-age 77 of Maynardville passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and served in Germany in 1966 during the Viet Nam War. He was of the Baptist faith and professed faith in Christ at an early age. Preceded in death by mother and step-father, Imogene and James Hayes; father, Willie Junior Lawson; grandmother, Ruth (Clyde) Lawson; son, Donald Eugene Lawson; brothers, Jimmy, Charlie and Darrell Hayes.

Survivors: Daughter, Jerry Lawson Baez; sisters, Mary Hayes, Pam (Jerry) Luttrell, brothers, Steve (Kelly) Hayes, Tony Hayes, Tim Hayes and partner, Trish. A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to Covenant Hospice.

The family plans are for cremation and no public service will be scheduled. The cremains will be placed in the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, 10 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
