Ramah Bowman Seymour

Ramah Bowman Seymour, age 90, of Knoxville, passed away February 2, 2020. Ramah was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School at the age of 16. She then obtained her teaching certificate and first taught in Union County. She then moved to Halls High School where she taught business for many years. Throughout her life she had many loves (traveling, reading, cooking, teaching, card games, watching UT ballgames), but none compared to her love she had for her family.

Cathy Bailey

Cathy Bailey – age 67 of Andersonville, passed away February 6, 2020 after a brave fight and complication of illness. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Cathy was a people person and loved many people in her life. She will be greatly missed by many.

Sandra Fay Logsdon-age 71 of Washburn passed away Thursday evening, February 6, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of Harvest Christian Fellowship. Preceded in death by parents, J. Victor Johnson and Norma Letsinger; brothers, Jerry Dean Johnson and Roy Kyle Johnson.

Johnnie F. Rose-age 86 of Luttrell passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was of the Church of God faith. Preceded in death by wife, Arlene Bell Rose; parents, Homer Franklin Rose and Bessie Hickle Rose Burnette; brother, Jack Rose; sisters, Delpha Rose Collins, Wanda Rose Burnette, Naomi Rose Collins, Betty Rose Lawson.

Barbara Elaine Renfroe-age 71 of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday morning, February 4, 2020 at Methodist Medical Center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. Preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Lorraine Hussey; brother, Robin Hussey.

Jerry Lester Oliver, Sr.

Jerry Lester Oliver, Sr.-age 77 of Andersonville passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home. He served his country and was a Veteran of the United State Army. Preceded in death by parents, William Oliver and Mary Katherine Sands; wife, Jenny Lynn Oliver; brother, Glenn and sister, Brenda.

Survivors: son, Jerry Oliver, Jr. and special friend, Amanda Houk; brothers, Clayton, Benny and Archie Sands; sisters, Connie, Barbara, Mary Ann, Hazel, Darlene, Peggy, Lisa, Pearl and Joyce. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Avis Michael Hickman

Avis Michael Hickman-age 77 of Maynardville passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his home following a long illness while surrounded by his loving family. He was of the Baptist faith. He was born April 3, 1942 in East Prairie, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Army as a Private First Class in the 101st Airborne Division of the Screaming Eagles at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Preceded in death by parents, Hiram Joe and Emma Eileen Hickman; siblings, Edwin Kenny, David J. and Randy F. Hickman; Bonnie Ruth Hickman and Laura Dean Tipton.

Boyd Franklin DeVault

Boyd F. DeVault-age 82 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Saturday, January 25, 2020 at NHC Respite Care of Farragut. He was born June 14, 1937 in Luttrell. Boyd was a member and deacon of Ailor Dale Baptist Church. He attended Horace Maynard High School and the University of Tennessee. He was a graduate of Knoxville Business College. He joined the U. S. Marine Corps in January, 1955 and completed six years active service with 26 months as a Marine Security Guard in the American Embassy in Tripoli, Libya. He was also a veteran of the U. S.

Victoria Mejia

Victoria Marie Mejia – age 56 of Andersonville, passed away January 20, 2020. She was a loving mother, aunt and sister. Victoria had a great love for her animals and would help anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Couples Hamer. Victoria is survived by her father, James Hamer of Theodosia, Missouri; cousins, Joseph Brozil and Lisa Pape.

Sylus Ayden Shope

Sylus Ayden Shope – age 2 month of Maynardville, was called home to join the angels on January 17, 2020. Although his time was too short on this earth, he will forever be loved and remembered by his family, especially his mommy and daddy.

Jessie Coy Wilder

Jessie Coy “Little” Wilder, age 79 of Maynardville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on September 13, 1940 and was a son of the late Bratcher and Lavada Kelly Wilder. Little was a member of St. Teresa of Kolkata Catholic Church in Maynardville and worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from the Operating Engineers Local 324 of Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Edward Troy “Big” Wilder, and sister, Janice Green.

Funeral services for Reverend Clarence Paul Byrd, age 79 of Manchester and formerly of Maryville, will be conducted on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 7:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 100 S. Rankin Road, Alcoa, Tennessee with Dr. Steve Hodges and Reverend Greg Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN with Reverend Jake Dorak officiating.

Elder D. R. Cabbage

Elder D. R. Cabbage-age 88 of Maynardville finished his course Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 2020 at home. He was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by wife, Rowena Cabbage; children, Claudett, Gary Lynn and Diane.

Survivors: Elder Ray and Teresa Cabbage. A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Suncrest Hospice.

Doyle Moore

Maxwell Doyle Moore-age 84 of Maynardville was born September 18, 1935 passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 14, 2020. Doyle was member and deacon of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Retired employee of Roadway Express and currently enjoyed his work at Cedar Grove Convenience Center. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Goldie Cook Moore; brother, Bruce Moore.

Betty Wallace

Betty Juanita Wallace – age 82 of Luttrell, passed away January 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Mountain View Church of God. Betty had a great love of animals, especially her faithful companion, Roxy.

She is preceded in death by husband, Harless M. Wallace; and son, Harless M. Wallace, Jr. Betty is survived by daughters, Dianne Rutherford and Pat Lambert; grandchildren, Chris, Mickey, Angie and Earl Ailor III; several great grandchildren; sisters, Norma Lucas, Janet Keener and Glenna Mowerly; and brother, Ken Paul.

Charles Taylor Carter

Charles Taylor Carter-age 77 of Sharps Chapel passed away Monday evening, January 13, 2020 at Ft. Sander’s Regional Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Marlock Corporation. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Daisy Carter; brother, John Carter; brother-in-law, Audy Keck.

Survivors: sons, Greg (Tammy) Carter; Ricky (Lisa) Carter; one grandson, Cody Carter; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Carter, Tony (Fran) Carter; sister, Barbara Keck; sister-in-law, Madalene Carter. Several nieces and nephews.

Cynthia Marie Flores

Cynthia Marie Flores-age 60 of Maynardville passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center.
Survivors: husband, Armando Rodriguez Flores of Maynardville; son, Kevin Flores of Knoxville; daughter, Adrian Hosford of Florida. Four grandchildren.
At the request of Cynthia, she will be cremated. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
