Randy Allen Johnson

Randy Allen Johnson – age 35 of Washburn, was born on December 16, 1984 and passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at U T Hospital.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Basil and Alice Johnson of Washburn and Cecil and Geraldine Rowland of Tazewell, uncles, Bobby Rowland of Tazewell and Bobby Hayes of Washburn. Randy is survived by his parents, Curtis and Kimberly Johnson of Washburn, aunts, Melinda (David) Earls of Tazewell, Geannine (Cookie) Hayes and Cynthia (Rick) Coffey all of Washburn; and a host of other family and friends.

Gary Gentry

Gary Lynn Gentry-age 69 of Maynardville passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020 at home after a short battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Lelia Kiser Gentry; niece, Becky Hunt; special aunt, Ruth Raley; wife of 15 years, Barbara Gentry.

Christopher Tray Fletcher

Christopher “Tray” Fletcher-age 19 of Luttrell went to be with his Lord, Thursday evening, January 2, 2020 at his home. He was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church in Claiborne County and was a graduate of Union County High School, Class of 2019. Preceded in death by great-grandparents, William Albert and Frieda Ann Fletcher; Charles and Evelina Mize; Farnum “Coot” Bolin; grandparents, Edward and Gwendolyn Stewart; uncles, William Albert Fletcher, Jr, Floyd Lewis Fletcher, James Carl Fletcher; aunt, Kathern Czarina Bolin Collins.

Frank Shelton

Frank Shelton-age 86 of Washburn passed away Monday, January 6, 2020. He was a member of Mt. Eager Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Rev. Loy and Orpha Shelton; also preceded in death by wife, Maxine Mayes Shelton; son, Mike Shelton; sisters, Ruth Clay, Evon Shelton, Orena Clay and Lillie Mae Lay.

Jerry Lynn Relford

Jerry Lynn Relford-age 57 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020 at his home. He was born May 5, 1962, one of fifteen children of the late Clifton and Ima (Wright) Relford. He was also preceded in death by half-brother, Clarence Evans; brothers, Bill Wright, Terry, Gary, Darrell and Randy Relford; sisters, Phyllis Thompson, Mary and Darlene Relford.

Roger Nicley

Roger Paul Nicley-age 78 of Maynardville went home to be with Jesus Wednesday morning, January 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a retired employee of Roadway Express. Roger never met a stranger, always had a joke to tell and cherished his wife of 57 years and adored his children and grandchildren. He lived life to the fullest and loved the Lord with all his heart. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all his nurses and caregivers from the V. A., SCHAS and U. T. Hospice.

Lela "Dell" Wilmoth

Lela Delphia “Dell” West Wilmoth – age 92, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2019 at her home in Washburn. She was born on January 29, 1927 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Dell was a member of Puncheon Camp Baptist Church.

Betty Sue Hunley-Owenby

Betty Sue (Williamson) Hunley-Owenby – 77, born July 29, 1942, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019. She retired after many, many years as a nurse from Baptist Hospital. Betty was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church and loved to sing and enjoyed listening to bluegrass and gospel music. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends. She will be greatly missed.

Jessie Anna Marie "Cissy" Smith

Anna Marie “Cissy” Smith-age 60 of Luttrell, born November 20, 1959 passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at her home.

Cissy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a hard worker and an amazing cook. If there was any day that Cissy couldn't be found, there was no doubt she was either camping or fishing. She was loved by so many and will be missed dearly. I will always love and miss you Mommy, to the moon and back.

Ruby Arnwine

Ruby Mae Arnwine-age 88 of Maynardville passed away Monday afternoon, December 23, 2019 at Claiborne Health and Rehab Center. She was a very familiar face and employee of Quicky Mickeys Market and Alice Cook Restaurant for many years. Ruby loved to cook and make sandwiches for her many customers and also to entertain them. Preceded in death by son, Mike Arnwine; parents, Rev. Floyd and Eva Arnwine; brothers, Charlie and Bill Arnwine; sisters, Polly Karns, Sue Arnwine and Betty Arnwine.

Philip David Cox

Philip David Cox-age 62 of Maynardville, born April 3, 1957 went to be with the Lord Monday morning, December 23, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Philip was a 25-year employee of Clayton Homes, Maynardville Plant. Preceded in death by parents, James Preston and Grace (Buckner) Cox; brother, J. P. “Buck” Cox, Jr.; sister, Janet Gilbert.

James W. Rutherford

James William Rutherford-age 81 of Luttrell passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. Jim was a member of The Hudson Grove Church of God of the Gospel Assembly. Preceded in death by wife, Betty McBee Rutherford; parents, Leonard and Gracie Rutherford and all his siblings.

Marvin Stanley McCarty

Marvin Stanley McCarty-age 58 of Sharps Chapel passed away Thursday morning, December 19, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a devoted Christian. Preceded in death by father, Herschel McCarty; brothers, James “J. D.” McCarty, Daniel McCarty and infant twin brothers who died at birth.

Doyle Eugene "Gene" Seivers

Doyle Eugene “Gene” Seivers-age 73 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 21, 2019 at his home. Gene was a Christian and held a strong belief in his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a graduate of Gibbs High School. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War serving as a Medical Corpsman.

Maxine Fox

Sharon Maxine Fox-age 72 of Washburn, born March 30, 1947, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, December 22, 2019 at her home. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Washburn. Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ina Lay; brother, Bennie Lay.

Jack George

Jack George passed away on December 24, 2019 due to an illness. Mr. George was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the army. He was a 53 year employee with Beaty Chevrolet and retired as Parts Manager in 1999. Mr. George enjoyed golf and UT sports. For over 50 years, he served as a UT football usher. Most importantly, Jack loved the Lord, his family and many friends. While attending Milan Baptist Church over 66 years, he served as Head Deacon, Music Director and Sunday School Teacher.

Jackie Scott Monday

Jackie Scott Monday, age 53, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2019. He was a member of Marbledale Baptist Church. He was hilarious, stubborn and could fix anything. His happiest moments were spent sitting in the floor playing with his granddaughters, Makenli and Rilyn, and sitting on the bank fishing. He is preceded in death by parents, Jack and Elizabeth Monday.
