Ahjeuya Alaska Hansard (Ted)

Ahjeuya Alaska Hansard (Ted), age 99 of Halls Crossroards, passed away peacefully Monday June 15, 2020. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Samuel Carl Hansard, parents, PL and Ninabell Hall, two sisters and two brothers. Survived by her son, Jack C. Hansard, grandchildren, Robert Hansard, Sandy Hansard Spangler, James Hansard, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Family will receive friends Wednesday 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with a service to follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Jack Walker officiating.

Ronald F. Harbin

Ronald F. Harbin, age 84 of Powell, passed away Sunday June 14, 2020. He spent his life working as a ditch digger and was the owner of F.H. Harbin Co., Inc. He was a 60 year Freemason and served as Past Master of Powell Lodge #582 F&AM in 1965 and of Bright Hope Lodge #557 F&AM in 2005. Preceded in death by parents Frederick “Hack” and Della Mae Harbin, siblings Bill, Elizabeth, and Kenneth, first wife Sibyl Ann Bayne, second wife Lola Mae Jones, and Tammy the mule.

Sheila Luann Brown

Sheila L. Brown-age 48 of Maynardville passed away Tuesday morning, June 16, 2020 at her home. Preceded in death by father, Floyd A. Freeman; grandmother, Dorothy Freeman; uncle, Clay Freeman.
Survivors: husband, Donnie Brown of Maynardville; son, Dusty Brown; daughters, Tosha and Donald O’Dell, Rosie and Dillan Keck, Cassie Brown (Adian); grandchildren, Haven Keck, Mayson O’Dell. Sister, Tina Rutherford; mother, Gladys Freeman along with a host of other family and friends.

Grover William Nicholson

Grover William Nicholson-age 60 of Corryton went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 13, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He had been an employee of Green Mountain Dr. Pepper for the past 10 years. Preceded in death by parents, James and Harriett Nicholson; grandson, Quinllin Racey.

Kyle Lee Davis

Kyle Lee Davis-age 18 of Sharps Chapel passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He attended Union County High School.
Survivors: parents, John H. and Robin L. Davis of Sharps Chapel; brothers, David Davis of Maynardville; Eldon Davis of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; sister, Robin Mae Davis of Sharps Chapel; brothers, Dawson Williams and Wesley Williams, both Dickinson, North Dakota. Niece, Harper Davis. Noah Williams of Dickinson, North Dakota; Christina Britt of Grants Pass, Oregon along with dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Irma M. Roberts

Irma M. Roberts – passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on June 12, 2020 at her home in Corryton. She was born, married and raised her children in New Jersey, then moved to Corryton in 1987. She was a member of the Corryton Senior Center and Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church where she proudly volunteered in the early days of their Hospitality Pantry.

Bobby Cummings

Bobby Gene Cummings – age 85 of Knoxville, passed away June 10, 2020 with his family by his side. He attended Dutch Valley Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by parents, William and Bertha Cummings; sisters, Vivian Richards, Wanda Carringer and Norma Sparks. Bobby is survived by children, Martha (Michael) Kitts, Bobby (Sue) Cummings and Carrie Nichols; grandchildren, Joe, Mike, Donnie, Christy and Valerie; four great grandchildren; and siblings, Charlene (Len) Landis, Charlotte Ferrell and Jay Cummings.

David Warren Effler

Army Sgt. David Warren Effler – age 72 of Maynardville passed away suddenly, May 10, 2020. David attended Hines Creek and Texas Valley Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion #212 and VFW #8682.

James Lee Cabbage

James Lee Cabbage-age 78 of Maynardville passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at his home after a long battle with Parkinson. He was born November 16, 1941 to the late Clyde and Norma (Janeway) Cabbage. He was saved as a young boy and was a member of Old Pleasant Gap Baptist Church. Jim was the owner of Cabbage Repair Shop and Auto Parts Store. On July 5, 1960 with love and respect, Jim became husband, son, brother and uncle into the family of Clay and Polly Jordon who also preceded him in death.

Vicky Sue Dillie

Vicky Sue Dillie-age 57 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home. She was born July 25, 1962 in Kokomo, Indiana. She was the owner/operator of Jungle Tots Daycare in Corryton. Preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bob” Vandergriff; brother, Kenneth Vandergriff, grandmothers, Mossie Collins and Rachel Woolard.

Judy Heath

Judith Ann Heath-age 81 of Maynardville, born May 14, 1939 passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Judy was a former member of the Union County Business and Professional Association. She fulfilled her life long dream of having her own flower shop for many years, Judy and Trudy’s Florist in Maynardville.

Isaac Carson Stout

Isaac Carson Stout-age 94 of Luttrell passed away Tuesday evening, May 26, 2020 at his home. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. Preceded in death by son, Garry Stout; parents, J. R. and Roma Hill Stout; brother, Vernon Stout.
Survivors: wife, Shirley Stout of Luttrell; son, Ricky Carson Stout of Oklahoma; daughter, Sheryl Stout of California. Four grandchildren. Brother, Harold Dean Stout of California. Several nieces, nephews and friends.

Dillon Zane Whitehead

Dillon Zane Whitehead-age 65 of Luttrell, born and raised in South Knoxville, the son of the late Claude and Bessie Whitehead passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and served four years mostly in Korea and Virginia where he met his wife of 43 years. He also worked in communications, construction and patient transportation until he retired. He loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors and all types of music. He was loved by many and a friend to all. Preceded in death by parents, step-father, his four siblings and a granddaughter.

Floyd Archer

Floyd Vasco Archer – age 65 of Maynardville, born January 6, 1955, passed away peacefully at home on May 24, 2020. He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Knox County Parks and Recreation Maintenance with 20 years of service. Floyd was owner-operator of Floyd’s Small Engines in Maynardville for over 35 years with his wife by his side helping. He was an avid drag racing fan and owner, winning four championships at Knoxville Dragway, Cherokee Dragway and London Dragway, and an Ironman Trophy at Middle Tennessee Dragway. Racing was his passion.

Daniel Joseph Kitts

Daniel Joseph Kitts, age 35 of Maynardville, TN passed away Thursday, May 21st at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Daniel fought a long and difficult battle but passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Daniel was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Halls.

Proceeded in death by his father Daniel L. Kitts, grandmother Ellen Kitts and uncle Tim Kitts.

Eldon Jones

Eldon Derrell Jones – passed away suddenly on May 18, 2020. He was born September 14, 1967 in Escondido, California. He lived most of his life in California until he moved to Maynardville in 2013. Eldon attended high school in California at Poway High School. He loved his family and enjoyed making people laugh. He always had a story to tell and caught people’s attention. When moving to Tennessee he enjoyed being with his scout family. He so enjoyed camping, games and making a difference in kids’ lives.

Billy Joe Norris, Sr.

Billy Joe (Bill) Norris, Sr.-age 77 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday evening, May 13, 2020. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by father, Earnest Norris; mother, Bonnie Lay Norris; brothers, Ray Norris and Gene Norris.
Survivors: son, Joe Norris and wife, Lori; daughter, Robin Williams; four grandchildren, Renea King, Joshua Norris, Elisha Grubb, Jessica Hayes; seven great-grandchildren, Ashton, Anthony, Hunter, Lily, Jaylin, Elijah and Grace.
