Doyle D. Eastridge

Doyle Douglas Eastridge-age 74 of Sharps Chapel passed into the arms of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ Thursday, March 26, 2020 while surrounded by his loving family. He fought a long hard battle with cancer for five years, but came out a winner on the other side. He was a member of the former Big Sinks Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel and a retired employee of Union County Highway Department. He is reunited with his loving wife of 41 years, Helen Rowe Eastridge; parents, Arbra and Lucy (Cook) Eastridge; brothers, (Infant) Lonnie, Bill, Fred, Clyde Eastridge and Walter Cook.

James Alan Brummitt

James Alan Brummitt-age 57 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at his home. He was a member of The Church of Christ, Hickory Valley Road. Alan was the owner/operator of James Brummitt Construction Company and has a host of caring and loyal employees and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, father, James W. (Bill) Brummitt and mother, Marjorie L. Brummitt; brother, Andrew Joseph (Joe) Brummitt.

Silva Kitts Tharpe

Silva M. “Polly” Kitts Tharpe-age 95 of Maynardville, born June 16, 1924 passed away Monday morning, March 23, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was a member of Nave Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by nine children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many other family members and a host of friends.

Wilma Helen (Robertson) Wolfe

Wilma Helen Wolfe-age 85 of Maryville went home to be with Jesus Sunday morning, March 22, 2020 surrounded by her family at her granddaughters’ home in Sharps Chapel. Helen was preceded in death by parents, Claude and Sarah Robertson; husband, James Henry Wolfe; her children, Linda Wolfe Cumbie and Steven Wolfe; four brothers and one sister.

Cleo Estelle Shillings

Cleo Estelle Shillings-age 79 of Corryton, born August 8, 1940 in Claiborne County passed away Friday afternoon, March 20, 2020 at home surrounded by a host of loving family and friends. She was saved at the young age of 11 and was of the Baptist faith being a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, Sterley and Josie Davis; husband, Charles Shillings, the children’s father, Charles Stanifer; grandsons, Billy Stanifer and Josiah Guay; granddaughter, Sarah Guay; brothers, Joe and Ralph Davis; sisters, Helen and Lucy Ann Davis, Evelyn Graves.

Christene Nicley Merritt

Christene Merritt-age 76 of Maynardville passed away Thursday, March 19, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Preceded in death by parents, Fred E. and Imogene Sands Nicley; granddaughter, Alicia Rutherford; son, Terry Lynch.

Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Glenn Russell; grandchild, Christina Kiser; great-grandchildren, Bradley Rutherford, Angellica Ackermann, Jessie Kiser, Tyler Lister, Rebecca Lister; great-great-grandchildren, Alyanna Fellows, Oakleigh Rutherford.

Kay Frances (Hutchison) Kwiatkowski

Margie L. Russell Hunley

CORRYTON - Margie LouEmma Russell Hunley, of Corryton, age 78, born July 12, 1941 in Sharps Chapel, went home to be with the Lord 3:57 A.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and loved singing for the Lord and spending time with family. She was a caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, A.W. Russell and Gracie Brewer Russell; brothers, James Russell and Allen Russell; sisters, Zella Dykes, Alvada Dykes, and Gladys Lambdin.

Maxine "Mack" Capps

Maxine “Mack” Capps – age 91 of Maynardville. She grew up in Claiborne County.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Calvin and Flossie Snyder Capps; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Inez Capps and Dale and Mary Ruth Capps; nephew, Randy Capps and niece, Denise Capps Cooke. Maxine is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Bennie and Catherine Capps; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff of Willow Ridge Center for the care they gave her.

Inez Mason Partin

Inez Partin-age 82 of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Huntsville Healthcare, Huntsville, TN. She was a member of Beans Fork Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Avery Partin; parents, Luther and Dora (Miracle) Mason; six brothers and four sisters.

Survivors: sister, Lorene Williams of Maynardville. A host of nieces, nephews and many other family members.

Doug Harmon

Doug Harmon – age 72 formerly of Maynardville, passed away March 12, 2020 peacefully at home.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Harmon; daughters, Brenda Harmon and Melissa Messer; stepdaughter, Nancy McCarty; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Andy Thomas

James Andrew “Andy” Thomas-age 26 of Knoxville went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, March 9, 2020 as the result of an automobile accident. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his mother, Rhonda Thomas.

Survivors: father and step-mother, Jimmy and Michelle Thomas; sisters, Danielle Esslinger, Denise Brooks; step-brother, J. B. Anderson. Five nieces and two nephews, several aunts, uncles and other family members and a host of friends. Special friend, Clint Lane.

Kathleen Louise Sharp Mink

Kathleen Mildred Louise Mink, age 71 of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at home.

Born on September 2, 1948, from the union of Harm (Lum) and Noma (Ruby) Sharp in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She was one of nine children in her family. Later on, she met the love of her life; John Mink. They were married on October 24, 1972 in Monroe, MI. They raised their family of four children and spent over 48 wonderful years together.

Evelyn L. Sands

Evelyn Luvan “Bankie” Sands-age 81 of Luttrell passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at Beverly Park Place, Knoxville. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband, James A. Sands.

Survivors: daughter, Sandy Satterfield and fiancé, Lynn Kitts; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Pam Sands, Perry and Jean Sands, Mike and Lisa Sands; special grandson, Tyler Satterfield and wife, Brittany. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.

Carolyn J. Bradshaw

Carolyn J. Bradshaw-age 88 of Maryville, formerly of Maynardville passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at Shannondale Health Care Center where she had been in declining health the past two years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Alcoa. She and her husband were the former owner/operators of Hickory Star Resort and Marina in Union County. Preceded in death by husband, Bill Bradshaw; daughter, Billi Bradshaw.

Charles Andrew (Chuck) May

Charles Andrew (Chuck) May, age 58
8/4/1961-2/23/2020
Chuck passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home on 2/23/2020. He was a 1979 Graduate of Central High School. Chuck grew up playing baseball at Ftn. City Ballpark and went on to play on the baseball team at Central High School. Chuck loved Tennessee football and baseball and could answer any Trivia question presented to him. Chuck previously worked at Reeder Chevrolet as a Service Consultant for many years. Chuck was a life long member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Ftn. City. Chuck could always be seen smiling.

Ryan Alan Martinec

Ryan Alan Martinec – age 35 of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020. He had a passion for helping others.

He is preceded in death by grandfathers, Louise Grissom and Richard Martinec. Ryan is survived by his father, Mark Martinec and mother, Retha (Angel) Martinec; significant other, Heather Gintz; brothers and sisters, Christopher (Brittany) Martinec; Stephanie (Caleb) Wilmoth, Jada Young and Rickey Davis.
