Larry K. Fox-age 74 of Washburn went home to be with the Lord Sunday morning, December 27, 2020 at Claiborne Medical Center. He was a member, deacon and chairman of the Deacon Board of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Washburn. Preceded in death by wife, Sharon Maxine Fox; parents, David and Grace Fox; sisters, Infant Judy Fox, Sue Idol and Nancy Collins; brother, Tom Fox.
James T. “J-Bird” Washam-age 81 of Luttrell went to be with our Lord Jesus Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was a member of The Lighthouse, Luttrell. He was a former Union County Commissioner, Luttrell Volunteer Fireman, Union County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He was employed for over 30 years at the Luttrell Mine under all five owners. He was the son of the late Lawrence Otis and Opal Booker Washam; also preceded in death by brother, Roger O. Washam; sister, Lana Deanna Beeler.
Lois O. Harmon - 96 of Maynardville, went to be with her Lord December 27, 2020. She was a member of Ailordale Baptist Church.
David Edward Hurst, age 60, of Tazewell, Tennessee, born February 25, 1960, was called to his heavenly home on December 25, 2020, while at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. He professed faith in Jesus Christ and received Him into his heart as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and became a member of the Caney Valley American Christian Church but attended Faithful Baptist Church in Bean Station, TN. Believing, having faith and receiving the gift of salvation empowered him to live his life in victory for God!
Cleta K. Ford Adams Phillips – age 87 formerly of Caryville departed this life on Christmas Day, 2020 after a long battle with dementia. She will be dearly missed by all.

Gladys Mae (Kiser) Cumby-age 88 of Maynardville passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Preceded in death by husband, Leonard Cumby. She was the last living child of the late Luther and Daisey Kiser. Also preceded in death by brothers, Amos, Lamer, Clyde, Jim and Audrey Kiser; sisters, Stella Archer, Bessie Hoskins, Lassie Welch, Romie Sharp, Dorothy Woods, Lelia Gentry.
Jama Pearl Webb, 82, of Knoxville, passed away December 25, 2020. She was a member of New Start Baptist Church in Union County. Preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Ben Webb; parents, Jim and Pearl Bailey; sisters, Elsie Thomas, June Hill; brothers, Elmer and Austin Bailey.

Dawn Marie Fielden-age 67 of Knoxville, a resident of Willow Ridge Center in Maynardville passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital North. She was born April 24, 1953 in Porter, New York the daughter of the late Clyde C. and Doris J. Muth.

Victoria Jean (Dyer) Vann-age 74 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord Friday morning, December 18, 2020 at U. T. Medical Center. She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a loving mom, grandmother and sister now resting in the arms of the Lord. Preceded in death by parents, Ondus and Norma Dyer; brother, Danny Dyer; sister-in-law, Kathy Dyer.
Wayne Crawford, Sr.-age 77 of Maynardville born June 14, 1943 passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at U. T. Medical Center. Wayne was saved by Christ in his teenage years. He was called to be a deacon in 1998 and faithfully served for 7 years. He lived his religion and his belief until the day he was called home. Although no formal higher education, Wayne mastered many crafts and trades, from laying brick and pouring concrete to building houses. His greatest accomplishment was raising children and being a pillar of strength to his family.
Peggy Sue Nicley-age 82 of Washburn was born February 23, 1938 and went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Willow Ridge Center in Maynardville. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church of Washburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Sr. and Mertie Nicley; infant sister and brother, Georgia and Curtis; sisters, Martha Capps and Betty Collins; brothers, Beecher, Fred, Virgil, John and Herbert, Jr.
George Clayton Haynes-age 85 of Knoxville, born April 11, 1935 went to be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, December 13, 2020 at home with his wife and children at his side. George was a deacon and a longtime member of Emory Valley Baptist Church. He was a welder from 1973 till 2011 when a stroke stopped him from doing what he loved. He was a Godly man who was always faithful in prayer and reading his Bible. He loved to sing and praise God for all of his many blessings. He loved all of his family and his “Little Woman” that he cherished every day.
James Bruce Williams-age 82 of Maynardville went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, December 14, 2020 U. T. Medical Center. He was a proud member and trustee of Alder Springs Baptist Church. He had been the Judge for the City of Maynardville for the past 16 years. He was preceded in death by son, Tommy Williams; grandson, Alex Williams; parents, Jim and Ora Dell Williams; sisters, Doris Johnson and Brenda Elmore.
Mary Leona Stout, age 90, Mascot, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Willow Ridge Center, Maynardville. She was born March 27, 1930. Member of Green Acres Baptist Church, retired from Phillips/Magnavox in Strawberry Plains. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Celia Elizabeth Stout; brothers, Bud, Sedrick (Roudy), and Charles, Jr; sisters, Lucy Spickard, Polly Griffin, Dessie Acuff, and Bobbie Kuykendall; closest and dearest friend whom she thought of as sister Frances Hayes.
Michael Monroe Needham – 71 of Maynardville, entered the Heavenly Gates on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center following a short battle with Covid-19. He was very patriotic and a proud Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U S Army achieving the rank of Specialist 5th Class. Michael was a very loving and kind man and never met a stranger. Everyone who knew him loved him and he had a very contagious smile and personality. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Ray Sultzbaugh was born in Los Angeles, CA to Lisle William Sultzbaugh and Olive Amelia Boren on May 30th 1943.
His interests and talents were many. While attending Whittier High School he was the wrestling champ all 4 years. He was of small stature but that never stopped him from flipping and pinning down a 250lb giant. A testimony to his character of strength.
LouElla Loy Evans-age 84 of Maynardville went to be with Lord Friday, December 11, 2020 with a smile on her face and surrounded by her family. LouElla faithfully attended Alder Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years, there she served as bereavement team coordinator. She retired from Levi Strauss and Company in 1994 after 30 years of service. LouElla loved volunteering for the Paulette Volunteer Fire Department. She was a caregiver to many family members, friends and animals over the years.
Wallace, Carolyn Faye (Grubb)-age 71 of Luttrell, passed away at St. Sanders Hospital on Friday December 11, 2020, surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born in Knox County on May 25, 1949. She retired in 2012 from Pinky’s Auto Sales & Mufflers where she enjoyed working with her son and husband. Carolyn also served two terms as the Mayor of Luttrell, being the first female ever elected to that office.
