Betty J. Lawson-age 77 of Maynardville passed away Monday morning, August 2, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed visiting several area churches. Preceded in death by parents, Thurman and Mae Wilkerson; sister, Leona Wilkerson; brothers, Kenneth Wilkerson and Ed Wilkerson.

Survivors: husband of 30 years, Ray Lawson of Maynardville; sons, Billy Gene Coffey and wife, Sherri of Maynardville; Eddie D. Coffey and wife, Tracy of Knoxville; William P. Coffey and wife, Liza of Maynardville; step-children, Junior Lawson and wife, Kim; Karen Knott and husband, John. Eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Sisters, Judy Hodge and Peggy Butcher Jones; brother, Raymond Wilkerson and wife, Diane. Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Paul Carter, Rev. Phillip Hayes officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021, Bethany Cemetery, Raccoon Valley Road, Knoxville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m. to go with the funeral procession. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
