Edward (E. L.) Sharp

Edward Luther (E. L.) Sharp-age 94 of the Halls Community, Knoxville passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his home. He was a member and Deacon of Milan Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II stationed in Japan. Retired electrician for Y-12 in Oak Ridge with 10 years of service and a electrical worker for 50 years. E. L. was a 50-year member of Fountain City Lodge #757, a member of the Knoxville Scottish Rite for 50 years and a Shriner with the Kerbela Temple in Knoxville for 50 years. Preceded in death by loving wife of 69 years, Georgia H. Sharp; father, Edward L. Sharp; mother, Nola Sharp Patty and step-father, John; brother, Rev. Robert Sharp.
Survivors: son, Eddie (Charlotte) Sharp; daughter, Doris King; grandchildren, Keith (Jennifer) Sharp, Kevin (Joy) Sharp; great-grandchildren, Evan, Caleb, Mary Jean Georgia, Eli, Ashlyn Sharp; sister, Lavaille Keen. Several nieces, nephews along with a host of friends.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 with a masonic service at 7 p.m. Wednesday by Fountain City Lodge. Funeral service to follow Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Jody Winstead, Rev. Mike Viles officiating with music by The Cox Family, Patty Helms and Jackie Cox. Military graveside service 11 a.m. Thursday, Milan Cemetery, Maynardville presented by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the cemetery. Pallbearers: Deacons of Milan Baptist Church: Doug Bailey, Terry Chittum, Kenny Meyers, Marion Rose, Darren Bailey, Gerald Coppock. Honorary Pallbearers: Daniel Butler, Michael Simmons, James Sexton, Wayne Cox. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
