Myrtle (Osborne) Nicely – 87 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord, September 3, 2020. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by parents, Clella and Viola Osborne; husband, Cecil; daughter, Robin; granddaughter, LaVonda. Myrtle is survived by daughter, Vickie Ryder (David McCarroll) sons, Toney, Freddie (Shirley) and Calvin; siblings, Kenneth Osborne and Barbara Paul; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and four great - great grandchildren. The family wishes to express special thanks to all the staff at Willow Ridge Center.

Charlotte Louise Ellis, age 76, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord August 29, 2020. She was preceded in death by parents, Helen Jones and William “Bob” McMurray, step-father, Leroy Jones, siblings, Bobbie “Bobbie Jo” McMurray, William “Bud” McMurray, and Sally, David, and Steven Jones, and fathers of her children, William E. Sweat and Bill Ellis.

Durandon Leith Chandler-age 42 of Luttrell passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, September 1, 2020 at his home. He was a member of Mountain View Church of God. He was a very avid fan of U. T. sports and was a loving brother, uncle and friend. Preceded in death by parents, B. L. and Reba (Bays) Chandler; sisters, Reneda Lee and Francine Chandler.

Dannie Peters-age 65 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Monday evening, August 31, 2020 at his home. He was saved at an early age at Blue Springs Baptist Church. Dannie was a loyal member of Blazing Star Lodge No. 455 F. & A.M. He was a wonderfully talented musician and was an original member of the well-known Betterway Quartet. He had a faithful passion for music and singing for the Lord. He had an incredible love for God, his family and special friends, Star and Snoopy.

Kyle Junior Gentry – 76 of Maynardville, passed away August 29, 2020. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Kyle loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and his church.

He is preceded in death by parents, Tilman and Ruth Gentry; and sister, Kathy Hayes. Kyle is survived by wife of 33 years, Betty Gentry; children, Angie (Steve) Longley, Kevin Gentry, Greg (Robin) Gentry, Kristi (James) Burbage, Brandy (Kirt) Walker and Tonya (Daniel) Henry; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Laverne and Judy; brother, General; and many nieces and nephews.

Elmer Earl Mullins born June 21, 1952 and passed away August 27, 2020. Son of the late David and Mary Kitts Mullins who preceded him in death along with his niece Tiffany. Survivors include his husband Tim Steinke; brother and sister-in-law Sam and Reva Mullins; and many friends. A lifelong resident of Knoxville and Powell; graduate of Powell High School and the University of Tennessee. Elmer was a visual display manager at Sears, Target and Kohl’s, he also had a cleaning business. Services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

David Edwin Dowling, age 65, of Powell, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020. He had a deep love of animals, gardening, antiques, trading, hunting and fishing. David was always willing to help his friends and family when ever they called. He was the center of any gathering and was often found surrounded by laughing friends and family, with a smile on his face, while he told a wild story or joke. David was a larger than life man who touched so many peoples lives and will be so greatly missed.

Travis Von Fachin, age 48, of Bearden passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home. Retired from the United States Navy, and very dedicated to the service of his country, serving on the Aircraft Carrier Theodore Roosevelt. He was employed as security with Shield and Buckler Security, Inc. One of his favorite hobbies was building model ships. He loved animals and collecting guns.

Deborah “Debbie” Lee Humphrey, born April 3, 1960, passed away on August 26, 2020, losing her battle with cancer at UT Medical Center, where she worked for 34 years. She loved her family, watching UT football, and camping at the lake where her family spent a lot of time. She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Rita Goddard, her brother, Tommy Goddard, and her sister Jennifer Doane.

Emily Aleen (Coffman) Nicely-age 66 of Washburn passed away Monday morning, August 24, 2020 at Claiborne Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in by parents, Ausburn and Sarah Idol Coffman; sister, Glenda Rosalee Coffman.

Lawrence "Boo" Thomas-age 57 of Maynardville, born September 26, 1962. He passed away peacefully Friday, August 21, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Boo was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the Union County Sheriff's Department, was a former employee of the Union County Ambulance Service and was a former Maynardville City Councilman. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend. Proceeded in death by Parents, Earl "Jawbone" Thomas and Bertha Mae Thomas. Sisters: Mary Mills, Annie Carpenter, Kathy Thomas, and Bernice Thomas.

Chris Allen Killion, age 63, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully 2:50 am, Monday, August 24, 2020, at Tennova North Medical Center. He was a veteran of the US Army and a truck driver for many years. Chris was preceded in death by step-father, James “Ed” Dockery, and grandparents, Evelyn & Clifford Jones and Millard & Roxie Killion.

Bobbie Joyce Keck-age 80 of Maynardville, born May 3, 1940 went home to the Lord Friday, August 21, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Taylor's Grove Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, W. T. Keck; her children, Paris Keck of Maynardville; Danny Keck of New Tazewell; Lisa Sweet of New Tazewell; Tina Smith of Tazewell; parents, Willis (Bill) Rouse of Maynardville and Pheonie Keck Rouse of New Tazewell; sisters, Patricia Johnson King of Tazewell; Freda Roe of Kokomo, Indiana; Nancy Godsey of Maryville; Infant great-grandson, Kevin Helton.

Betty Ann Kitts-age 77 of Luttrell passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Beverly Park Place Healthcare in Knoxville. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents, Henry (Earl) Grubb and Nancy Baker Grubb; husband, Charles Kitts; brother, James Grubb; nephew, James (Goober) Grubb; son-in-law, Mark Caldwell.

Survivors: daughter, Tonia Caldwell and Steve Cooper; sons, Chuck (Nancy) Kitts; brothers, Arthur Grubb, Leonard Grubb; Wayne (Linda) Grubb; sisters, Glinda (Frank) Justus; Teresa (Eddie) Satterfield; Eleven grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren.

Katie C. Cox, age 87 of Sharps Chapel, was born September 26, 1932. She passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2020. Katie was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by husband, Robert Cox; Parents, Willard and Relda Brewer; sister, Virgie Perry and Elreda Cox; Brother Rondie Brewer.

Frances Lynch-age 90 of Luttrell passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Willow Ridge Center. She was a member of Warwick’s Chapel Baptist Church, Luttrell. Preceded in death by husband, Jack Lynch; infant children, Ronnie and Wilma; parents, Claude and Jesse Collins; sister, Wanda Underwood; brother, A. J. Collins.

Omer Ray Lee age 76 of Luttrell passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Beverly Park Place Healthcare in Knoxville. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors: sisters, Joyce Salyer of Knoxville; Mary Ogle of Andersonville. Several nieces and nephews.

Amy Carol Archer – age 42 of Strawplains, went to her heavenly home on August 19, 2020. She was at home when she made her journey. Amy was of the Baptist faith. She loved God and her family. Her son, Dalton Cox was the apple of her eye.

Helen Ruth West Barnes-age 79 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a loving mom and mamaw and friend, but, especially a loving wife. She loved her family with all her heart. She was saved at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by daughter, Linda Cox; parents, Bill and Bessie West; sister, Mary (Joe) Smith; mother and father-in-law who were like parents to her, Lee and Clovia Barnes.

Wilma “Dean” Ellison – age 86 of Sharps Chapel, passed away suddenly August 18, 2020 at her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Troy Ellison. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Janet (Ricky) Collins; son, Bobby (Beth) Ellison; granddaughers, Corryne Huxley and MiKayla Huxley; grandsons, Eric Lynn Collins, T. L. Ellison, II and Jordan Ellison; great grandson, Conner Collins; and caretaker, friend and family, Mamaw Brantley.
