Barbara Howard Flynn, age 82, of the Karns Community, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Barbara was a devoted member of Ball Camp Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the children’s department for over 50 years as well as prepared and served many meals over the years. She retired from Ball Camp Elementary School after almost 40 years of service. Barbara loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Dwight Flynn, father, Waford Howard, and mother, Birdie Mynatt Sutherland.
Nola M. “Auntie” Merritt-age 87 of Powder Springs passed away Sunday morning, July 12, 2020. She was a member of Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of Standard Knitting Mills. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Allie Merritt; sister, Inez Merritt; nephew, Brad Nicley.
Survivors: niece, Patricia (Loy) Nicley; nephew, Matthew Nicley; special friend, Crystal Nicley; great-great-nieces and nephews, Noah, Callie, Madelyn, Reece and Gracee. Special thanks to Ridgeview Terrace of Life Care and Smoky Mountain Hospice.
Daniel H. Korth, age 60, of Maynardville, TN passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, July 9, 2020.
Gary Lynn (Papaw Hubcakes) Haynes-age 70 of Knoxville passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Thursday morning, July 9, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing before falling ill. You would always catch him singing to his Lord and enjoying life to the fullest. Per his request, his life will be celebrated privately and we will honor his wish of no services. Till we see you again, over and out Groovy J #1 Hubcap.

Linda Lee Spears-age 65 of Maynardville, formerly of New York went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by mother, Alma Conklin; father, Charles Spears; brothers, Louie Curry and Don Spears.
Willie Ray (Bill) Lawson-age 71 of Luttrell, born May 17, 1949 in Luttrell went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 6, 2020 at Fort Sander’s Regional Medical Center. He leaves here waiting to meet Him at Heaven’s Gate. Ray loved the Lord, his family and country. He served in the United States Marine Corp in Viet Nam. He never saw a stranger, loved helping people and he will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Dianne Evelyn Beck, aged 78, passed away on July 5th, 2020 at home in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was born in Pennsylvania and made her way with her family to Minnesota in her early years. Later, she eloped and married on a boat traveling to South America where she lived for twelve years, raising four children. Later homes included Louisiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Michael “Mike” Craig Ford-age 57 of New Tazewell, born February 21, 1963 passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Mike was saved at an early age and was a member of MCM Baptist Church. Mike enjoyed life from playing with his grandchildren, taking care of his mother, building something or helping his cousins work in the tobacco field. He is preceded in death by his wife, Pasty Miracle Ford, parents, Rev. Roffie and Lourene Widner Ford; sister, Tammy Ford Bailey; brothers, Jeffery and Kevin Ford.
CORA LUCINDA JARVIS SEAL, age 98, of Washburn, TN passed away at home on Friday, July 3, 2020. She was a member of Mount Eager Missionary Baptist Church. Cora retired in 1991 as a CNA at Hillcrest Nursing Home. For over twenty plus years thereafter, she continued as a private caregiver for many people in the community. She was often seen outside working in her yard and flowers, which she was so proud of. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and spending time with her family. Cora was a devoted mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family.
Lelia Ann Roegelein-age 64 of Maynardville, born October 26, 1955 passed away suddenly Saturday, July 4, 2020 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and was employed with the Coca-Cola Company for 17 years. Ann was an avid fan of U. T. Football and the Lady Vols. She enjoyed baking cakes for everyone and never met a stranger. She also had a special love for her grandchildren and great-grandkids.
Lisa Michelle Conatser-age 54 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Friday afternoon, July 3, 2020 at her home. She was a graduate of Rule High School, Knoxville, class of 1985. Preceded in death by grandmother, Betty Mullins, sister, Tammy Lee Mullins England, niece, Kaitlyn Walker, nephew, Baby Orvis England.
Thomas “Tommy” Daugherty, age 74, of Powell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Anchor Holds Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by parents Charlie and Gladys Daugherty, siblings Charles Jr., Bobby, Marvin, Joyce and Bill, Judy, and Linda, son Thomas “Jay” Daugherty, granddaughter Molly Brown, and father-in-law Daniel A. Grissom Sr.
Anna M Tarwater (Nan), age 94, departed this life on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. She was born on April 3, 1926 in Minersville, PA to James and Florence Mullen.
Fred Eugene McAfee, age 80 of Knoxville, passed away July 12, 2020. Preceded in death by wife Joyce DeVault McAfee, mother and father Maggie & Charles McAfee, brothers Charles Andrew McAfee and Robert Lewis McAfee, and sister Emma Irene Turner. Charles Edward “Bud” Branam, August 30, 1943 - July 10, 2020. Bud was born in Sevierville, TN to Eddie & Anna Laura Branam. He graduated from Sevier County High School in 1963. During his high school career, he was an all-around athlete in every sport. His exceptional athletic ability lead him to a full athletic football scholarship as a tight-end at Middle Tennessee State University. Graduating with a BS in 1967. Then, he went on to receive his Masters + 45 at UTK. Bud was a faithful Christian & longtime member at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Jerry Lynn Mincey, age 64 of Knoxville, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, July 10, 2020. He was born on December 8, 1955. He was a graduate of Gibbs High School, and a retired employee of the University of Tennessee. He was greeted in heaven by his father, Billy Howard Mincey.
Mary Elizabeth (Helms) Livesay – age 59 of Maynardville, departed this life to go to her Heavenly home on July 8, 2020. She was a member of Circle Assembly Church of God. At age 35 she was ready for a career change and decided to go to Ross the Boss School of Cosmetology to become a beautician. Mary believed everyone needed a touch of red in their hair. She had a special way to make people laugh and smile even when they were going through the most difficult of times. You never had to guess what was on her mind because she was quick to let you know what she was thinking.
