Jerry Lynn Burchell-age 58 of Corryton passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He attended Redemption Harvest Church and was a retired employee of Knox County Parks and Recreation. Preceded in death by father, Coy Allen Burchell; mother, Betty Ruth Grubb Burchell; brother, Jackie Leonard Burchell; sisters, Judy Ann Burchell and Barbara Jean Burchell; sister-in-law, Loretta Burchell.
He is leaving behind his wife of 40 years, Vickie Burchell; daughter, Casey Ann Burchell; granddaughters, Ashlynn “Ashy” Myla and Brooklynn “Bookie” Hope Fabian of Corryton. Brothers, Ray Allen Burchell and sister-in-law, Trish Burchell of Corryton; Paul Edward Burchell of Clinton; half-brother, Michael Childress; Several special nieces and nephews. His special friend and future son-in-law, Gary Lynn Clark, Jr. His best buddy, Allen Richards of Knoxville. The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Fort Sanders Medical Center MSICU.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Monday, Redemption Harvest Church, 7824 Maynardville Highway, Knoxville, Rev. Jody Darden officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Tuesday, Big Barren Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m. to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Stevie Cameron, Travis Banks, Scott Large, Ray Burchell, Little Ray Burchell, Paul Burchell. Honorary Pallbearers: Gary Lynn Clark, Jr. and Bryson Large.
