Jimmy R. Houston

Jim Houston-age 80 of Sharps Chapel passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his home.
Proceeded in death by parents: Ottis and Grace (Walker) Houston, sister Ada Mae Houston, and brother Samuel Houston.
Survivors: Wife Meryl Linkous Houston, daughter Jamie Rhodes (Stacy), son Jason, and daughter Julie, stepdaughter Ashley McCann (Bryan), grandchildren Chase Rhodes (Ally), Caleb Rhodes, Kaylee Houston, Brooklyn and Rachel Sharp, Augustus and Eleanor McCann. Great grandchildren Kinsley and Rhett.
Sister Linda Ruth Houston Ousley, and several nieces and nephews.

Amber Nichole Warwick Beason

Amber Nichole Warwick Beason-age 21 of Knoxville passed away Sunday evening, June 6, 2021 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Amber was preceded in death by her adopted mother, Betty Beason; sister, Debra Smith; biological father, Rick Warwick; grandparents, Harvey and Carol Warwick.

Survivors: mother, Kim Rogers of Maynardville; brother, Christopher Lowery; sisters, Amy Lowery and Katie Keisler. Several other relatives and friends.

The body will be cremated and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.

Charles S. Sides

Charles Sidney Sides-age 84 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, June 1, 2021 at his home. Charles was an Honorably Discharged Veteran and was retired from the U. S. Army at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was born January 5, 1937 in Rector, Arkansas the son of the late Charles and Delta (Gregory) Sides.

Willis Edward "Flywheel" Beeler

Willis Edward “Flywheel” Beeler – age 76 of Maynardville, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Tony Edward Beeler and Eddie DeWayne “Pete” Beeler; mother, Zelma (James) Norris; father, Elmer Lee (Cora) Beeler; brother, John “Butch” Beeler; sister, Linda Beeler; and best friend, Harold Satterfield.

Michael Joe Heiskell

Michael Joe Heiskell, age 76 of Corryton, passed away June 2, 2021. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He served in the army during the Vietnam War. Joe retired from TVA after over 40 years. Preceded in death by wife Brenda Gail Heiskell. Survived by sons Edward Adam Heiskell and Joseph Scott Heiskell and wife Brenda; grandchildren Michael, Paisley, and Maggie Heiskell; brother Ed Heiskell. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Monday, June 7, 2021, and 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.

Billie Faye "Collins" Wolfenbarger

Billie Faye Wolfenbarger-age 81 of Washburn, born July 4, 1929 passed away Wednesday evening, June 2, 2021 at her home. Billie was a member of Central View American Christian Church and a retired employee of Levi Strauss and Company, Powell with 29 years of service. She was the last surviving member of the family of the late Frank and Sarah (Beets) Collins. She is also preceded in death by husband, Paul E. Wolfenbarger; infant sister, Lena Collins; sisters, Ommo Whitner, Francis Stephens and Edith Beeler; brothers, R. B. Collins, J. C. Collins, Frank Collins and Jimmy Collins.

Phyllis E. Capps

Phyllis E. (Williams) Capps-age 87 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Friday morning, May 28, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was a member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly. Phyllis was a former employee of Levi Strauss Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Bill and Nellie (Collins) Williams; husband, James “Jack” Capps; grandsons, Bobby Ray Capps, Jr., Joshua Reynolds; son-in-law, Mike Anderson; brothers, A. J. Williams, Hollis Williams, Leon Williams, Billy Gene Williams; sister, Doris Ann Hickman.

Wanda Merritt Moyers

Wanda Merritt Moyers-age 82 of Maynardville went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, May 24, 2021. Wanda was a lifelong member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly, Luttrell and served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, coordinator of the church’s Christmas program, prepared countless meals at the church and known for her participation with the Red Velvet Cake church fundraising. She lived and loved to serve the Lord, Jesus Christ, to one day live with Him forever. She trusted and leaned on the Lord her whole life and instilled this strength into her family.

Carl Johnny Keck

Carl Johnny Keck, age 63, of Corryton left this life peacefully Saturday, May 22nd surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Dona (Curtis) Kitts, grandfather, George (Mary) Keck, mother and father, John and Vadra Lee Keck as well as his son John Keck.

SMSgt Lance W. Roe

SMSgt Lance Wesley Roe age 41 of Mary Esther, FL formerly of
Maynardville, TN received his heavenly wings Sunday, May 16, 2021 while
enroute to Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, NE. Lance was saved at
age 13 and a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church in Maynardville, TN.

Douglas Lynn Heifner

Douglas Lynn Heifner-age 68 of Corryton went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2021. He was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church; a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1969 and a U. S. Army Veteran serving 1973 – 1979. Preceded in death by parents, Horace Clasco and Anna (Weaver) Heifner; sister, Mary Jane Heifner; brother, Ralph “Hotshot” Heifner.

Bill Ray Hall

Billy Ray Hall-age 75 of Sharps Chapel, loving husband and father of six children passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home. Bill was born May 13, 1946 in Roda, Virginia, the son of the late Lewis Albert and Ethel Hall. He was a coal miner and truck driver for many years. On December 17, 1971, he married Melba Jean Aldrich. They had four daughters, Sherrie, Melinda, Jeannie and Peggy; two sons, Billy and A. J.

Johnny Garrett

Johnny Ellis Garrett, Jr. – age 64 born March 8, 1957 of Maynardville, former owner and operator of Johnny’s Transmissions, Tazewell Pike, Corryton passed away May 13, 2021 His passions were his family, grandchildren, hot rods, and cars. He loved the lake, Applebee’s and friends. It was always 5:00 o’clock somewhere and let’s pop a top any day, any time.

Rhonda Stout

Rhonda Gail Stout – age 49 of Strawberry Plains, passed away May 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer. She is a member of Jim Town Baptist Church.

Franklin Delano Wallace, Jr.

Franklin D. “Pete” Wallace, Jr.-age 54 of Maynardville passed away Friday evening, May 14, 2021 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents, Rex and Ann Wallace; sisters, Mickie Hurst and Mary Wynn.

Survivors: wife, Karen Wallace; daughters, D. J. (Wallace) Hill and Latisha Suttles, grandson, Austin Suttles; sister, Mary Bates and brother, Cletus Edwards. Several nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Robert B. England

Robert Burgess “Poley” England-age 77 of Maynardville, born October 4, 1943 went to rest Friday, May 14, 2021 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a member of Ailordale Baptist Church and a retire employee of Wells Tile Company. Preceded in death by parents, William F. and Basil England; daughters, Carolyn Lee England and Sue Diane England.
Survivors: wife of 57 years, Alice Johnson England; two daughters, Ruby Charlene England and Sandra England, all of Maynardville. Six grandchildren, Four Great-grandchildren. Many friends and loved ones.

Lodene Smith

Edith Lodene Smith-age 78 of Luttrell passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville. She was preceded in death by parents, Luther and Edith Corum; brothers, Leslie, Jerry and Doug Corum; sister, Naomi Corum; nephew, Dudley Corum; niece, Brenda Graham.
Survivors: husband of 58 years, Mack Smith; sister, Mary (H. V.) Keys; several nieces, nephews along with many great-nieces and nephews.
