Richard Wayne Crist, Sr.

Richard Wayne Crist, Sr. – age 79 of Maynardville, passed away at his home Sunday, August 22, 2021. Born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 11, 1942, he graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1960 where he excelled in the Future Farmers of America program. Rich was married to his wife, Pamela Joyce Bourland for 60 years. He had several careers throughout his life including long haul truck driving and running an upholstery business.

Joe Buckner

Joseph M. “Joe” Buckner-age 44 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at his home. He was a member of Warwick Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, James Buckner; sister, Melinda Leann Buckner.

David E. Yarberry

David Edman Yarberry-age 73 of Luttrell passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, August 20, 2021 at his home. David was a U. S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and a lifetime member of the V. F. W. and the American Legion. Preceded in death by parents, James and Barbara (Kirby) Yarberry; brother, Richard Yarberry.

Linda Kate Beeler

Linda Kate Beeler-age 70, of Luttrell, passed away August 17, 2021, at The Gardens on Lake Brook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Faustine & Sammie Beeler; and her sister, Susan Weaver.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret & Joe Campbell; and her nephew, Gabe Thrasher; as well as nieces, Terris Monroe and Heather Minton, and their families.

Glenn Dellinger

Glenn Dellinger-age 64 of Maynardville passed away Monday, August 17, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Charles David and Mary Ruth (Franklin) Dellinger and was born June 14, 1957 in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Roy Clay Collins

Roy Clay Collins, 77, of Luttrell, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at North Knoxville Medical Center.

Clay was born to Wren and Adell Collins on January 2, 1944. He was married to his wonderful spouse Brenda Christine Collins for 47 years, having two sons to carry on the family name.

Clay is preceded in death by wife, Brenda Collins.

Survivors: sons, Leonard and Christopher Collins; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one brother and four sisters.

Edward (E. L.) Sharp

Edward Luther (E. L.) Sharp-age 94 of the Halls Community, Knoxville passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his home. He was a member and Deacon of Milan Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II stationed in Japan. Retired electrician for Y-12 in Oak Ridge with 10 years of service and a electrical worker for 50 years. E. L. was a 50-year member of Fountain City Lodge #757, a member of the Knoxville Scottish Rite for 50 years and a Shriner with the Kerbela Temple in Knoxville for 50 years. Preceded in death by loving wife of 69 years, Georgia H.

Joe Carroll Mitchell

Joe Carroll Mitchell-age 52 of Knoxville passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his home. He was an installer with Broadway Carpets in Knoxville. Preceded in death by father, Tim Mitchell; son, Joey Mitchell; grandchildren, Alyssa and Haley Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Heather Mitchell; brother, Wesley Mitchell; sister, Tammy Mitchell.

Mikel Ralph Sharp

Mikel Ralph Sharp age 60 of New Tazewell was born January 3,1961 and passed away August 9,2021 at the U.T. Medical Center. Mike was a member of Head of Barren Baptist Church. Mike was co-owner of Sharps Grading Contractors for many years with his dad, Claiborne Co. Road Superintendent for 12 years, and on the Powell Valley Electric Board of Directors for 32 years.

Paul Howard Donehew

Paul Howard Donehew, age 79, of Daleville, Virginia (former long-time resident of Union County, Tennessee) passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital unexpectedly.

A masonic graveside will be 12:30 noon, Tuesday August 10, 2021 at Dyer Cemetery, Highway 131, Powder Springs, Tennessee 37848 with Chaplin David Wolfenbarger officiating.

Paul’s family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Florida 33607.

Robert Wilson Coffey

Robert Wilson Coffey – age 37 formerly of Thorn Hill, passed away August 7, 2021. He was born September 9, 1983.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Everett and Betty (Wolfenbarger) Coffey. He leaves behind to mourn his death, Father and stepmother, Rick (Cynthia) Coffey; mother, Salina Godwin; children, Caden, Landon, Peyton, Josie, Jace, Sophie, and Poppie; maternal grandparents, James Whitener and Shirley Wong; sisters, Shelly (Shannon) Greene, Haley Coffey and Jessica Gray; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and several cousins.

Robert G. England

Robert Greene England-age 93 of Knoxville, born October 31, 1927 passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps having served in World War II and the Korean War. Robert was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lyon Lodge #29 F. & A.M., Independence, Oregon. Robert was an educator, curricular developer, school principle, technical writer and aviator. He was the son of the late Edward and Eleanor England; also preceded in death by sister, Shirley Steward.

Harry Baker, Sr.

Harry Edward Baker, Sr. – age 88 of Corryton, Tennessee, went to meet his Lord and Savior on August 4, 2021. He passed away at Tennova North Medical Center in Powell, Tennessee. Harry was born June 16, 1933 in Towson, Maryland to Lillian M. and Harry E. Baker. After graduating from Towson High School, he enlisted in the Navy in 1952 for four years of active duty and then four years of inactive duty. During his active duty he served on the aircraft carrier USS Gilbert Islands during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in February 1960.

Diane Bailey Simmons

Diane Bailey Simmons-age 58 of Luttrell passed away Tuesday morning, August 3, 2021at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Girldine (Nicley) Bailey.
Survivors: son, Steve Hensley; daughters, Crystal (Randall) Nicley; Brook Collins. Sisters, Joanne (Paul) Cardwell; Dorothy (Brody) Hickman; brothers, Harold, Leon and David Bailey. Three grandchildren, one great-grandson. Several nieces and nephews.

Betty J. Lawson

Betty J. Lawson-age 77 of Maynardville passed away Monday morning, August 2, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed visiting several area churches. Preceded in death by parents, Thurman and Mae Wilkerson; sister, Leona Wilkerson; brothers, Kenneth Wilkerson and Ed Wilkerson.

Bobby Gene Norris

Bobby Gene Norris Jr. age 47 of Maynardville, TN peacefully passed away on Monday, August 2nd 2021. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his dad Bobby Gene Norris Sr. and his brother Greg Emmit Norris. He is survived by his daughter MJ, mom Connie Norris Perry, brother Scottie Norris, niece Abbey Norris, nephew-in-law Marty White, sister Crystal Jones, stepfather Tom Perry and former sister-in-law Jenny Norris, cousin, Angie Covington and many other family and friends.

Mildred Bernice Flatford

Mildred Bernice (Rutherford) Flatford, age 91 of Andersonville, passed away on August 1, 2021. She was a long-time member of Byrams Fork Baptist Church. She raised her family of six boys along with four of her husband’s siblings and provided care for her elderly parents. Their home was always open to those who needed a place to stay, a warm bed and a meal. She was a very special lady and loved by so many.
