J. V. Waller

James Vallen Waller, Jr. “J.V.” – born on May 9, 1942 in Chesney, Tennessee to James Vallen and Frances Skeen Waller. J. V. passed away on Saturday October 31, 2020 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was saved at an early age and was a lifelong member of Warwick’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. J. V. served in the United States Army stationed in Korea. He was also involved in many different organizations from being General Chairman of Carmen at Norfolk Southern Corporation to serving on many boards in Union County.

Alene (Pug) Hall Munsey

Alene (Pug) Hall Munsey-age 57 of Maynardville went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Raccoon Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Maynardville. She was preceded in death by parents, Estle and Margaret Hall; brothers, Ed, Lock, Joe, Rev. Clyde, James and Fred Hall; grandson, Seth Munsey.

Randall Lynn Kitts

Randall Lynn Kitts, May 2, 1975 – October 28, 2020. Our Randy left this world for paradise due to complications from Covid-19.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary; grandfather, Ralph Kitts; grandparents, Ted and Wilma Kitts; aunt and uncle, Sandy and Boo. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Nickie and sons, Richie, Austin, Michael and Sammy; brother, Glen; his father and stepmother, Ron and Neva; grandmother, Bonnie Reece; aunts, Sharon and Donna; uncle, Joel; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Brenda Baker; and several cousins.

Michael Brandon Fraser

Michael Brandon Fraser, 36, of Sevierville, died Sunday October 25th at UT hospital. He was born April 15th 1984.
Michael lived every day to the fullest, making an impression on everyone he met. He could instantly light up a room with his beautiful smile or his witty and charming personality. Michael was an entrepreneur but he always flourished in a sales position. He could talk to absolutely anyone. Michael loved to be adventurous and hardly ever turned down a chance to explore this world. He was spontaneous and electric!

Rev. Joe "Michael" Johnson

Reverend Joe “Michael” Johnson – age 49 from Maynardville, went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2020. He was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, friend, spiritual leader and pastor to many. He loved his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ and dedicated his life to sharing God’s word with the lost. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. Michael really enjoyed coon and squirrel hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by family and friends, but leaves behind a strong spiritual legacy.

Raymond T. Hutson

Raymond T. Hutson-age 80 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord Saturday evening, October 24, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly. Retired employee of Allied Signal, Knoxville. Preceded in death by wife of 47 years, Brenda Oleda (Williams) Hutson; son, Shawn Hutson; granddaughter, Isabella Grace Nicely; parents, Henry and Mamie Hutson; siblings, Betty Rose, Magaline, Eugene, Buck, Bobby, Bill, Glen (Ray), Eldon (Charles), twin brother, Laymond (Tony), Homer (Don) and Donna White.

Roy Bailey

Roy Bailey-age 80 of Maynardville was born August 3, 1940 passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020 at his home. He was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Boyd and Susie Bailey; brothers, Charlie “Dicky Boy”, Cliff, Cornelius. Vaughn, Claude and Clyde Bailey.

Donald Edward Bowers

Donald Edward Bowers-age 83 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly for 53 years. He was a Veteran having served in the U. S. Air Force. Don was a very devoted family man and loved his church. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Benton Bowers, the 1st and Rosa Lee Bowers; first wife, Jeanette Bowers; daughter, Yolanda Bowers; son, Donald Bowers; two grandchildren, Braylon and Channah Bowers; sister, RoseAnn Dyer.

Floyd "Topsy" Rutherford

Floyd L. “Topsy” Rutherford – age 89 of Luttrell, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his home. He is retired from Knox Mfg. Co. and is a Korean War Veteran. Floyd is a Deacon at New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, a member of J. C. Baker Lodge #720 F & AM and a member of Scottish Rites.

Tony Clifton Hensley

Tony Clifton Hensley-age 52 of Corryton passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his home after being in failing health. Tony was born July 11, 1968 in Knox County, Tennessee. He was of the Baptist faith and was a former member of Jim Town Baptist Church, Luttrell. Preceded in death by father, Andrew Jackson (A. J.) Hensley, Jr. who passed away October 19, 1997 at the age of 51. Grandparents, Andrew Jackson Hensley, Sr. and Mossie (Muncie) Hensley; James Clifford Sweet and Lucille (Lynch) Sweet Brown.

Jack Dale Roberts

Jack Dale Roberts-age 51 of Maynardville, born October 8, 1969 in Huntington Park, California passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his home. He was born again and had faith in Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by father, Marvin Dale Roberts.

Alvin V. "Goat" Patterson

Alvin Venice “Goat” Patterson-age 78 of Blaine passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at his home. He was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Vada (Smith) Patterson; sister, Shirley Rutherford; brothers, Dallas and Glen Patterson.

Survivors: son, Dustin Patterson; four sisters, Geneva Williams; Linda O’Brien and husband, Rodney; Penny Ramsey and husband, Larry; Marilyn Black, all of Blaine. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Betty Lowry

Betty H. Lowry – age 89 of Maynardville, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020. She was a member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Halls. She enjoyed needle point, knitting and watching basketball.

Ralph Ray

Ralph Ray-age 73 of New Tazewell, born September 14, 1947; he was born and raised in Sharps Chapel and passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tipprell, Tennessee. Preceded in death by parents, Lowe and Lassie (Pratt) Ray; daughter, Margie Ray; grandson, Dustin Ray; sisters, Martha, Anna Mae and Lorene Ray.

Keith Thomas

Keith Henry Thomas-age 52 of Washburn, born July 7, 1968 went to be with his Savior Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Keith was saved at an early age. Preceded in death by parents, John and Virgie Thomas.

Roland David Seymour

Roland David Seymour, 77, transitioned from this life to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2020.

David was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. David was the son of James and Nellie Pauline Seymour. He graduated from Halls High School (1960), The University of Tennessee (1965), and The University of Florida (1968). David served in the Tennessee Air National Guard 1960-1966. Service included being activated for the duty at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, during the Berlin Crisis. He retired from Bellsouth Telecommunications after 33 years of service in Florida and New York City.

Eugene D. Monroe

Eugene “Gene” Monroe-age 85 of Maynardville passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at his home. He was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School and served in the United States Army Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Bonnie Palmer Monroe; brother, Gareth Palmer Monroe and wife Zena; sisters Mary Josephine Meyer and Willa Sue Cox.

Phyllis Jarboe

Phyllis Jarboe – age 85 of Knoxville, born October 7, 1935 in Evarts, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, October 10, 2020 at Baptist Health of Corbin, Kentucky. She was a retired West High School teacher in Knoxville, teaching Business and Economics for 30 years. Phyllis was also a dog lover.

Mary L. Hayes

Mary Louise Hayes-age 79 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Monday, October 12, 2020 at her home. Mary was a proud Navy wife of 30 years and a member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly, Luttrell. She was the 1988 woman of the year of the Paisano E. H. Club in Kleberg County, Kingsville, Texas. Mary was preceded in death by parents, Oscar Ray and Ella Kate Johnson; brother, Leonard Ray Johnson.
