Edward Robert Collette

Edward Robert Collette went to be with his Lord and Savior January 10th, 2019.
Ed was born September 19, 1964. Ed graduated the University of Florida with a degree in Environmental Engineering. He was elected and served as international president of the honor society Phi Theta Kappa. He loved the ocean and spent a better part of his life on the beaches in Florida. His hobbies included fishing, scuba diving, body building, hunting and wood working.

Jack Ray Bohanan

Jack Ray Bohanan, age 78 of Powell, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 surrounded by his family and close friends.
He was a longtime member and deacon of Smithwood Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruby Bohanan; father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Nellene Buckner; and brother, Jerry Bohanan.

Jason Shane Hubbs Jr.

Jason Shane Hubbs Jr., age 31, went home to be with his heavenly father January 13, 2019 while surrounded by his family and friends at UT Hospital, due to an automobile accident. He is preceded in death by his papaw and grandmaw Marvin and Twila DeCost, papaw Joe T. Hubbs; uncles Jeff Humphrey, Tony Hubbs, and Steve Buckner. Jason was the son of Jason and Crystal Hubbs and was the most amazing brother to Dustin, Justin, and Autumn. He was also the most amazing, loving, and caring father. His whole world was his son Cason Shane Hubbs.

Barbara E. Acuff

Barbara E. (Hunter) Acuff-age 88 of Corryton passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Bill Acuff, parents, Clarence and Mossie (Wallace) Hunter; sisters, Geniva and Roy Burnett; Elise and Ken Beeler, Wanda and Don Beeler, Lois and Heral Kitts, Joyce Williams, brothers, Author, Earl, Ralph and Paul Hunter.

Survivors: sister, Carolyn (Leroy) Hensley of Luttrell; special sister-in-law, Lorene Hunter of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Hobart Edgar Cook

Hobart Edgar Cook-age 85 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, January 14, 2019 at Holston Healthcare. Edgar was a member and deacon of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and he loved singing with the Cedar Grove Quartet. He served in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Retired employee of Dempster Brothers, Knoxville. Edgar also served as the City Manager of Maynardville for three years. Preceded in death by son, Donnie Cook; parents, Hobart and Mossie Cook; brother, Carlyle Cook; sisters, Carolyn Norris and Oval Cox.

Steven J. Jackson, MD

Steven J. Jackson, MD, age 66 of Knoxville, passed away suddenly on January 10, 2019. He was a family practice doctor in Fountain City for 26 years. Preceded in death by parents Doris and Bert Jackson of Amarillo, Texas, sister Judy Browning, and brother Dan Jackson. Survived by sons Tyler Jackson and Evan Jackson, and brother John Jackson of Waggoner, Oklahoma. A Celebration of Dr. J’s life will be held 4:00pm Friday, January 18, 2019, at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel, with a reception to follow.

Kathryn Ann "Kay" Marvin

Kathryn Ann (Kay) Marvin-age 66 of Maynardville passed away Thursday morning, January 10, 2019 at Willow Ridge Center following a long battle with cancer. Kay was born August 6, 1952 in Ohio the daughter of the late Paul and Edna (Fleming) Marvin. Her survivors include a brother, Doug Marvin and her twin-sister, Kathy Edwards.

Lowell Grayson Beckner Sr.

Lowell Graydon Beckner Sr. age 84 of Knoxville, went to be with our heavenly Father on January 10, 2019. He left this earth while at home in the arms of his wife of 46 years, Brenda Hensley. He served in the U. S. Navy and the Marines for several years in Korea. His professional career, for 20 years, was with White Stores. Preceded in death by his parents; Odell and Ethel Beckner, his brother, Delbert and sisters; Jackie and Louise. He is survived by his wife: Brenda, his children: Lowell Jr. (Jean) Beckner, Leah Crisp and Jackie (Allison) Beckner.

Losie Miracle

Losie Miracle – age 83 of Maynardville, gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Nancy Hunley; and grandson, Michael Whitson. Losie is survived by her daughters, Rita Grahl, Freda (Hardy) Rankin and Janice (Tom) Jenkins; sons, Dennis Miracle, Jim (Brenda) Miracle and Greg (Tina) Miracle; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren; brother, Argene Hunley; sisters, Arlene Miracle and Retha Hoskins; and several nieces and nephews.

Lenore Maureen Watson

Lenore Maureen Watson, of Halls, has gone to be with her Heavenly Father on January 5, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Maureen was born on September 6, 1926 to Esker and Bessie Widner in New Tazewell, TN. She had a kind and gentle spirit, was devoted to the care and comfort of others, and was a teacher of all things. She loved and was loved by all who touched her life.

Doris Ann Seymour

Doris Greene Seymour-age 80 of Maynardville passed away Thursday evening, January 3, 2019 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. Doris served as the Clerk and Master of Union County Chancery Court for 24 years. Preceded in death by son, Stacy Seymour; daughter, Karen Seymour; parents, Edgar and Mildred Greene; brothers, Clarence Greene and Ray Greene.

Thomas (Tom) E. Sellers

Thomas (Tom) E. Sellers, age 66 went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, January 2, 2019 at his home. Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He is a long time and faithful member of Northside Baptist Church holding the office of Trustee, he was a member of the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class, member of the Senior Saints Group. A member of a small men’s Bible Study group at Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Tom is a member of the American Legion Post 2, and The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1560. Tom is a member of Carpenters Union Local 50.

Bobbie Jean Moore

Bobbie Jean Moore – age 76 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was an amazing woman with a heart of gold and a spunky attitude that made everyone laugh. She is loved by so many and will be missed dearly.

James M. Clark

James Madison Clark-age 102 of Maynardville, formerly of San Antonia, Texas was born September 16, 1916 in Irving, Texas passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday morning, January 2, 2019. He was a retired U. S. Army Veteran with 20 years of service, serving during World War II and the Korean War. Preceded in death by wife, Betty Clark and son, John Clark.

Survivors: daughter, Velda Demetroff and husband, Scott of Maynardville; grandchildren, Yasmin Demetroff, Chris Demetroff and Faith Dupree. Six great-grandchildren.

Madeline Gentry Courtney, age 95 of Knoxville, went to be with Jesus on December 31, 2018. She lived a long healthy life until she broke her hip on November 17, 2018. Madeline spent most of her days watching TBN and loved looking forward to her daily visits from her son, Jim before his sudden passing in June 2018. She loved her family, her sons and her caregiver, Wilma Scott. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Geneva Holt, her sister, Lois Stanberry, her husband, Jeff L. Courtney and her sons, Jeff L. Courtney III and Jim Courtney.

Peggy Jane Gass

Peggy Jane Gass, age 64 of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018. She was a member of Portland Street Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother and loving sister. She was a CNA at NHC Healthcare (Emerald Avenue) for 12 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and her son was her world. Peggy enjoyed reading her Bible and writing down scripture. Preceded in death by parents Leonard James Long Jr. and Easter Long, sister Mary Helen Gass, twin sister Shirley Jean Long, and nephew Gary James Long.
