Tammie Ray Lynch-age 55 of Washburn, formerly of Luttrell passed away Monday, January 1, 2023 at Fort Sander’s Regional Medical Center. Preceded in death by her loving son, William Cody Lynch; father and mother, William Randy and Diane Lynch; sister, Nina Bell; brother, William Darrell Lynch; father of her children, Johnny “Buck” Wood.

Roy Roger Howe, Sr.

Roy Roger Howe, Sr.-age 80 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 31, 2023. He was a member of Byrams Fork Baptist Church. Roy was an Army veteran and loved to whittle. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marcella Howe; sister, Anita Costa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Paulette Howe; children, Tabatha Shope, Roy Howe, Jr., Janice Oliver, Joseph Howe; a slew of grandchildren and great children along with many nieces and nephews.

Harold Mashburn

Mashburn, Harold (Junior), age 77 of Maynardville TN, departed peacefully from his earthly realm to the eternal embrace of our heavenly father surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Park West Medical Center in Knoxville Tn. Harold was born on November 10, 1946, in Oneka N.C. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his parents, Lawerence Mashburn of Tazewell TN and Siretta B. Nelson of Loudon TN and a grandson Anthony C. Meyers.

Michael Taylor

Michael Charles Taylor, age 38, of Maynardville, TN went home to be with the Lord on December 23, 2023, surrounded by his family at Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center following a long battle with liver disease. Michael was born on June 10th, 1985, in Knoxville, TN and graduated from Anderson County High School in 2003. He achieved a Certificate as a Nursing Assistant but worked as a service technician most of his career. Michael loved to bowl, play golf, watch UT Football, and forge knives.

Lowell Herbert Thomas

Lowell H. Thomas-age 79 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at his home after illness with diabetes and dementia. He was a member and former Master of J.C. Baker Lodge #720 F.&A.M. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Preceded in death by wife, Linda F. Thomas; infant daughter, Connie Thomas; his parents, Rev. Charles and Marion Thomas; brother, Charles V. Thomas, Jr.

Larry Charles Hefner, Sr.

Larry Charles Hefner, Sr.-age 75 of Washburn (Union County) passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Preceded in death by his parents, H.K. and Geneva (Free) Hefner; father and mother-in-law, William R. and Inez Chesney.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah Sue Hefner; children, Tammy Kay Kitts Miller, Larry Charles Hefner, Jr., Willie Hefner, Terry Charles Hefner; seven grandchildren; brothers, Kent Hefner, Kyle Hefner along with other family members and friends.

Judy Faye Shoffner

Judy Faye Shoffner – age 68 of Sharps Chapel passed away Sunday afternoon, December 24, 2023 at her 2nd home in Tazewell. She attended Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church and Taylors Grove Missionary Baptist Church in her younger years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Cillis and Vella (Tapp) Shoffner; brothers, George Paul Shoffner, Roy Lee Shoffner.

Frank Davis

Frank R. Davis-age 88 of New Tazewell (Union County), born June 15, 1935 passed away Friday evening, December 22, 2023 at his home. He was member of Raccoon Valley Baptist Church and a former employee of Knox-Porcelain. Preceded in death by wife of 60 years, Anna (Shelby) Davis; daughter, Kathy Ann Davis at the young age of 3 years; parents, Sterley and Josie (Jordon) Davis; brothers, Joe Davis, Ralph Davis; sisters, Helen Davis, Lucy Ann Davis, Evelyn Graves, Estelle Shillings and Martha Powers.

Clayton L. Bailey-age 70 of Washburn passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by parents, Edd and Daisy Bailey; sisters, Cleo Smith, Linda Bailey; brothers, Vick, James, Carson and Doyle Wayne Bailey.

Terry Bell – age 69 of Washburn born, June 28, 1954, passed away Friday morning, December 22, 2023 at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System.
Proceeded in death by wife, Kathy Kay Bell; mom, Ester Bell; sister, Gerdymae Fisher; daughter, Laura Wilkerson; son, Rodney Collins.
Survived by daughters, LeAndrea Ostenoski, Trish Arms; son, Roscoe (Chris) Collins; several grandkids and great-grandkids; a special friend James Acuff.

Ana Maria Lopez De La Rosa – age 89 of Luttrell passed away Tuesday evening, December 19, 2023 at her home. She was a member of St. Teresa of Kolkata Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Arnulfo DeLeon; son, Jose Luis DeLeon Lopez; parents, Heriberto Lopez and Francisca De La Rosa.

Patricia Hackworth Gentry McCarter – age 74 of Maynardville, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023. She loved cooking, gardening and tending her flowers. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren. Pat was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly.

Robie Leon McClure, II – age 37 of Maynardville, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 14, 2023. Robie was a resilient soul who faced life’s challenges with unwavering strength. Despite enduring hardships, he leaves behind a legacy of courage and perseverance. Hubert "Pete" Dyke

Hubert Leon “Pete” Dyke-age 94 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his home. He was born August 27, 1929. Although he was 94, when asked, he was 39 years young. Pete was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Sharps Chapel and a retired employee of the Union County Highway Department. He was the last living member of a family of 12 siblings. Preceded in death by wife, Faye Antrican Dyke; father, Emit Dyke; mother, Mossie Lee (Peters) Dyke; grandsons, Matthew Dyke, Ryan Dyke and Carl Lee Sharp; granddaughter, Brandy McCarty.

Vincent Keith Flatford

Vincent Keith (Kenny) Flatford-age 60 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Friday, December 15, 2023. Kenny loved to play music on his guitar. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Wilma (Irwin) Flatford; brother, Danny Flatford, infant sister, Patricia Flatford; niece, Kami Flatford.

Rev. Wayne Kitts

Rev. Wayne Kitts-age 71 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Church. Wayne was a wonderful man that loved the Lord and his family, would help anyone in time of need and enjoyed yard selling. Preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Vina Kitts; brothers, Verlin Kitts, Glen Kitts, Lynn Kitts, Roy Kitts, Claude Kitts, Doug Kitts; sisters, Shirley Hall, infant sister, Ky Kitts.

Charles Lee Beason – age 82 of Maynardville, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a member of Oaks Chapel American Christian Church. He is a retired employee of Marlock.

Noah Evan Norton

Noah Evan Norton-age 23 of Luttrell passed away suddenly, Sunday, December 10, 2023. He was a member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church. He was the most loving child ever born, always smiling and was a friend to everyone. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dalton Kitts; granny, Elsie Evans; grandfather, James Norton.

Gregory Jones

Gregory Jones – age 68 of Corryton, passed away November 26, 2023 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a veteran serving in the Army, a long-haul truck driver for over 30 years and a member of the Confederate Drifters Motorcycle Club.

He is preceded in death by mother, Joyce Broyle; father, George Jones; and wife Susan Gaucho. Gregory is survived by daughters, Leslie Isham, Misty Jones and Tracy Thompson; son, George Jones; six grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Sharon Herd; and his beloved Lady.

Teresa (Howard) Arnwine

Teresa (Howard) Arnwine – Mattew 25:23… “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of the Lord.” On Friday, December 8th 2023 at 10:32 am, this world lost a mighty prayer warrior but Heaven gained a good and faithful servant. Our earthly spirit mourns our loss but our heavenly spirit rejoices in our gain.
She is reunited with her daughter, Kimberly; her parents, Ebbie and Elmer Howard; siblings, Larry, Jerry and Donnie Howard.
