Robert Bradley Douglas, known as Brad Douglas, was born October 12th, 1978. Brad spent his life in the Knoxville area embracing the Tennessee Volunteers, fishing and hiking. Brad's favorite thing to do was to take him and his family exploring. It is with great sadness that the family of Brad Douglas announces his passing at the age of 40. His spirit, enthusiasm and willingness to put other's needs above his own will be missed but not forgotten.
R. Bruce Kezer-age 84 of Knoxville departed this world for heaven on February 15 from his home. His family was at his side. Born in Jersey City, NJ, on September 30, 1934 to Edwin and Ruth (Adams) Kezer, Bruce graduated from the University of Vermont in 1957. He then entered the US Army and served, in peacetime, for three years until being honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant. Bruce loved Jesus with all his heart, and worked to live instead of the other way around.
Thomas M. McLaughlin age 57 currently of Maynardville TN, formerly of Edison NJ, passed away on February 8th 2019 at UT Hospital following an exhausting battle with cancer. Preceded in death by father, Thomas W, and brother Michael W McLaughlin.
Survived by wife Kathie, daughter and son-in-law Jennifer McLaughlin and Josh Lamb, son TJ, mother Elaine, sister and brother-in-law Lori and Gary Yurchak, grandchildren Chris and Michael, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Judson “Juddy“ Bailey - age 79 of Washburn, was born on February 27, 1939 and passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2019. We all called him Pap. He was a member of Nave Hill Baptist Church. He loved his family, hunting, playing cards, dogs and driving around. He spent his last few months putting on his shoes and saying “I believe I will go home”. He is finally “home“, peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Frances Jane Nichols “Janey”, age 61, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved mom, sister, and granny. Preceded in death by parents Jack Huggins and Bernice Van Dyke, brother Jackie Huggins, sisters Sarah Munsey, Sandy Huggins, and Darlene Dunaway.
Prudence (Penny) Childress Scarbrough, age 59, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019. She is preceded in death by parents Jim and Barbara (Grant) Childress, infant sister Jennifer Kay Childress, sister Brenda Altom, and brother Frank Childress.
Raymond Scott Brock-age 84 of Washburn passed away Friday evening, February 8, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by wife, Barbara Brock; parents, Walter and Lois (Atkins) Brock; sister, Ruby Idol; son-in-law, Henry Paul McGinnis.
Peggy Sue (Bailey) Dennison-age 60 of Maynardville passed away Friday morning, February 8, 2019 at her home following a long illness. She was a member of The Church of God at Maynardville.
Survivors: husband, Bobby Ray Dennison; daughters, Mitzi Petty and husband, Chesney;
Trish Houston and Dora Davis; step-children, Jacob Shultz, Jessica Shultz, Jonathon Dennison and Beth De Leon Several grandchildren along with one great-grandchild. Sisters, Vickie Coram and Debbie Bailey. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Sarah Hodge Williams "Mamaw Whistle" age 86, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019 after a very brief illness. She worked for Allergy & Asthma Sinus Center (North Office) for almost 70 years. Preceded in death by husband Jack C. Williams, parents Bernie and Carrie Hodge, and brother Robert Hodge. Survived by daughter Carol Shultz (Gary), grandchildren Cassidy, Tommy, and Jeffy, great-grandchildren Jaycee, Lynsey, Emily, J.D., special niece Donna Gibson, and her little dog Jack Zipper.
D.C. Thomas, age 86, passed away February 4, 2019. He has faithfully served as a deacon of Clear Springs Baptist Church. He also served as past Sunday School Director and rang the church bell at our Thompson School Road Campus for many years. D.C. will forever be known for his enthusiastic closing motion of our church business meeting, “Brother Moderator, I make a motion we adjourn this present session!”. He never met a stranger and never hesitated to share the love of Jesus with others. D.C. retired from Robertshaw Controls with 43 years of service and was a 50-year Mason.
Charles W. Jordon-age 64 of Maynardville was born September 4, 1954 and passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Preceded in death by son, Jimmy Jordon, parents, Charles and Juanita Jordon, brother, Stanley Jordon, sister, Janice Dwyer.
Charles is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
L. Arnold Young, age 88, of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019. He retired from A & P Grocery and was a decorated Korean war veteran proudly serving in the Navy. Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jane Young. Survived by his children Doug Young (Jane Treece), Richard Young (Debbie), Denise Piper (Joe); granddaughter Jennifer Brooks (Steven); great grandchildren Adelaide, Sullivan and Vivienne Brooks; brothers David, Russell, Franklin, Stanley and Don Young; sisters Elizabeth Whiteside and Shirley Pressley.

Reverend L.B. Herrell passed away on February 1, 2019 at 10:30am. Though always quick with a story or a laugh, and passionate about raccoon hunting, he realized that these were, in the end, mere vanities. His family and church thank God almighty that there is no sadness in the departure of L.B., for he was saved as a young child by the grace of Jesus Christ. Called to preach, and to pastor several churches, L.B. tried to decrease that he may, through the preached word given to him by the Holy Ghost, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who survive L.B.
Gladys Maples Corum, age 91, of Corryton, Tennessee passed away Friday, February 1, 2019. She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital and was of Christian Faith.
Preceded in death by husband Ray Corum; parents Charlie and Sally Maples; brothers and sisters Dan, Carl, Paul, David, Essie Tapp and Madge Kirby.

Mabel Gail Buckner-age 70 of Maynardville, born June 20, 1948 and left this earth on January 31, 2019. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Boyd C. Buckner; infant son, Michael Lloyd Buckner; parents, Vaughn (Bud) and Gladys Norris; sisters, Dorothy Tharpe, Mildred Cooper and Ruby Norris; sister-in-law, Doris Norris.

Mary Lee Montooth-age 74 of Luttrell also known to all as DeeDee passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her home. She was preceded in death by husband, Bryan K. Montooth; mother, Tressie E. Chittum; father, Harvey Chittum, Sr.; sister, Mary Jane Strevel; brothers, Reese and Harvey Chittum, Jr.; niece, Teresa Hope Chittum.
Nathan “Nate” Dallen Buckner – was born into this world March 1, 1989 at 3:41 a.m. He was saved April 5, 1998 on the bank at Nance Ferry and baptized by his dad. With the hope he received that day, he used it on January 25, 2019 when he took his last breath at 4:00 p.m. at U T Medical Center after he was so selfishly stripped from this life. He had a heart of gold and was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. If he loved you he’d go above and beyond to help you in anyway. From the day he was born he was ready to take on the world.
