Virgil D. Crawford

Virgil D. Crawford-age 80 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was a retired employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation and was a farmer. Virgil was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Annie Crawford; sisters, Lucille Keck, Christine Taylor, Martha Monroe, Ruby Clay and Mary Lou Allen; brothers, Earl, Darrell, Ralph, Frank and Lee Roy Crawford; son-in-law, Boyce Brock.

Ernest "Ernie" Robertson

Ernest “Ernie” Robertson, of Knoxville, passed away on September 5, 2018. He was a member of Westhaven Baptist Church. Ernie loved playing cards and going to the races. He was a loving husband, brother, and family man. Preceded in death by wife Marlene Robertson; parents, Colyer and Lena Robertson; daughter Sandy; sister Ruth Smart. Survived by daughters Vicky, Sherry, Tammy, and Linda; son Gary; special grandson Donnie Maples; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; sister Dena Robison; brothers Bob Robertson and Don Robertson.

James M. "J.M." Bailey

James M. (J.M.) Bailey - age 72 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in the comfort of his home. He was of Baptist faith and a member of Hickory Valley Missionary Baptist Church. J.M. was a life-long and extremely dedicated republican who had a passion for politics and public service. He served his county as a road commissioner for four years, a county commissioner for over 20 years, several terms as Chairman of the Union County Republican Party, and also served on numerous county committees. Janey Hamilton Dail

Janey Hamilton Dail-age 64 of Luttrell, born July 1, 1954 went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Janey was a retired employee of Housecall Home Healthcare. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by parents, Robert V. and Jewel T. Hamilton; brother, James Hamilton; sister, Betty Moehrle; brother-in-law, James Frank.

Geraldine Holifield

Geraldine Lynn Holifield – age 75 of Knoxville, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 3, 2018. She was a member of Trinity Chapel Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and her arts and crafts. Geraldine was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

Margie Grace Ray

Margie Grace Ray – age 38 of Knoxville, passed away on August 31, 2018. She was a member of Portland Baptist Church.

Margie is preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Gracie Houschell and Lowe and Lassie Ray; step father, Tommy Pendleton; and great grandfather, Pattie Pratt. She is survived by son, Joshua Ray; daughters, Delilah Lowe and Sommer Ray; mother, Delilah Pendleton; father, Ralph Ray and wife, Loretta; brothers, Eugene Ray and Kevan Ray; several nieces, nephew and cousins.

Joseph L. Kennedy

Joseph L. Kennedy Jr., age 48 of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord August 30, 2018. He was a member of Ramsey Church of God. He drove a truck for Estes Express Freight Lines. Joseph was a modern-day Patrick Swayze, who loved to dance, play pool, hunt, and occasionally, enjoyed drawing. He was a loving husband, father, and son, and an all-around honorable man. He was a strong example of what a man should be. His perseverance and unconditional love for others was a testament to how he lived.

Linda Mayes Reynolds

LINDA MAYES REYNOLDS – age 65, of Knoxville, passed away on August 29, 2018.
She was the most loving and devoted Christian woman, and a member of Dutch Valley Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Betty and Wade Reynolds; daughter, Tina Hinshaw.

Timothy "Tim" Mark Canupp

Tim Mark Canupp, age 57, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was the Chef and Kitchen Manager at Shoney’s on Broadway for many years. He was a graduate of Fulton High School class of 1981. Tim was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Roger Dale Munsey, Sr.

Roger Dale Munsey, Jr.-age 46 of Washburn passed away suddenly Monday morning, August 27, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident. Preceded in death by father, Roger Dale Munsey.

Mary Elizabeth Tucker

Mary Elizabeth Tucker - age 57 of Maynardville, passed away August 25, 2018 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Mary is survived by husband, David Tucker; children, Amy Bozonellos, Tammy, John Curtis Boren and Josh Boren; grandchilden, Nicholas and Abagail Bozonelos, Dylan Lerma, John Ray,Riley and Andrew Boren, Aleigha Salazar and Wyatt Boren; mother, Pat Andrews; siblings, Dan Hendrickson, Bill Allen, Bobby Allen, Penny Patton and Tonya Simco. A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 4:00 p.m.

Ervin "Leno" Schoolfield

Ervin “Leno” Schoolfield, age 41, passed away August 26, 2018. He was an Airforce veteran and an instructor for the UAV. Ervin mentored the Halls High School Robotics Team. He was a loving husband and father, with a great sense of humor and an energetic personality. He is preceded in death by mother, Delane Trunk; grandmother, Thelma Schoolfield. Survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Monica Schoolfield; son, Adam Schoolfield; daughter, Sydney Schoolfield; father, Randy Trunk; many friends, too numerous to count, who loved him.

Karen Faye Blair

Karen F. Blair-age 62 of Maynardville passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at her home after a long battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 27 years, Rickie Blair of Maynardville; two sons, Karl Stokes of Knoxville; Freddie Stokes of Kodak; sisters, Gail, Brenda, Jennie and Connie along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Donald Ray Jackson

Donald Ray Jackson, age 60, passed away on August 22, 2018. He was of Baptist faith. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a hard worker. He made friends wherever he went and never knew a stranger. He is preceded in death by his wife Cindy Jackson and son Bryan Jackson. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter, April Rose and husband Shawn; son, Jacob Jackson; grandson, Shane Oglesby; siblings, Wanda, Renee, Roy and Ronald; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; all of his friends at Higginbotham Heating and Air.

Lois “Faye” Williams Martin

Lois “Faye” Williams Martin, age 62, went to join her lord and savior on August 23, 2018. Lois left behind her beloved husband of 45 years Cecil “Cheta” Martin; son Tim Martin and his wife Marquette “Cricket” Martin; many loved grandchildren; brothers, Bob and Jerry Williams of Knoxville and John Williams of Friendsville; sisters, Jean Watson, Sue Williams, Shirley Carter all of Knoxville, and Betty Williams of Greenville, South Carolina; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials in her memory may be given to the Cancer Society of Knoxville.

Hazel Lee McPhetridge

Hazel Lee “NaNa” McPhetridge, age 95, of Knoxville passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. She was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. Former member of Sharon Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Powell High School, and then went on to obtain a degree from Knoxville Business College. She worked for Knox County Property Assessor office for 56 years.

Henry Paul McGinnis

Henry P. McGinnis-age 81 of Washburn passed away Tuesday morning, August 21, 2018 at his home following a long illness. Survived by his wife, Ida Brock McGinnis. Graveside service and interment 11 A.M. Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Brock Family Cemetery, Washburn. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.

Ava Kathryn Easterday

Ava Kathryn Easterday, age 8, passed away August 18, 2018. She was a dancer at Prima Dance Studio. Ava attended after school care and summer care at Wallace Memorial and was a student at Powell Elementary School. Ava’s passion in life was to dance. She loved being at the studio and she loved competing. She loved anything pink, teal, sparkly, shiny and glittery. She was a true girly girl and full of sass. She loved to make people laugh and could light up an entire room with her beautiful smile. She was a free spirit and full of adventure.
