Cameron Eli “Cam” Smith-age 20 of the Big Ridge Community of Union County left us too soon to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, May 22, 2019. Cam was saved at the age of nine alongside his sister, Reagan at Milan Baptist Church. He then attended and joined Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Cam was a great son, brother, uncle and friend who was a blast to be around and his laughter was contagious. Cams love and compassion for sports was unmatched.
Marnie Alexandria Tolliver-Graham, age 41, of Corryton, TN, died May 21, 2019, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Marnie was born March 23,1978, in Greeneville, TN.
She was devoted to her family, friends, and cats. She had a love of literature, travel, purses, shoes, and revenge.
Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Herbert Lynch, and paternal grandparents Phlim and Hallie Tolliver.
Evan Thomas Richey, age 18, passed away on May 17, 2019 after a
year long battle with osteosarcoma. Evan was born on November 16,
2000. He showed us what a true superhero really is as he
demonstrated amazing courage, bravery and strength during his
battle. His thoughtfulness and kindness even in the face of an
insurmountable nemesis called cancer showed us all what a truly
remarkable young man he was. We will never forget his kind and
caring heart, and we honor his legacy by never forgetting this brave
Bryce Allen Collier – age 19, our beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away tragically on May 22, 2019 in Knoxville. Those who knew Bryce, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Born on March 23, 2000 to parents, Amy and Greg Collier of Luttrell, Bryce was an outstanding athlete. He played football, basketball and was an excellent baseball player. Bryce loved his family, friends and sports. He graduated Gibbs High School in 2018 and was currently employed at Clayton Homes.
Mary Suggs Cox, age 80 died at UT Medical Center on May 22, 2019. She graduated from Central High School in 1955. She then retired from AT&T after 30 years. Preceded in death by parents Lon Suggs and Zetta Smith Suggs, brothers Charles Suggs and Jimmy Suggs. She is survived by husband J.D. Cox, son John, daughter Joy (Keith) McElroy, grandson Joey (Lena) Treece, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00pm Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow at 6:00pm. Rev. Randall Singleton will officiate.
Betty (Lay) Acuff – age 88 of Washburn, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019. She was a member of Mount Eager Baptist Church.
Reeda Gail Garrison Miller, age 75, of Hendersonville, TN, formerly of Powell, TN, went to be with the
Lord on May 20, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born January 5, 1944 in Knoxville to the late
Thomas Reed and Margaret Garrison. Gail attended Powell High School and graduated from Fulton High
School in 1962. She married the love of her life, Kenneth, on June 22, 1973.
She began her 45-year career at the University of Tennessee and spent time at both the IRS and TVA;
Allen “Al” James Doss passed away on May 22, 2019, at the age of 72, from pancreatic cancer. He was born in Ft. Smith Arkansas on June 20, 1946. Al served in the Army in Vietnam from 1968 until 1969 in 1st Division Big Red One Charlie Company 18th. Al was an experienced mechanic and was the owner of Shop Equipment Service Company for 13 years. Al was an avid fisherman and camper. He fished in many local bass tournaments as well as Hungry Fishermen, Redman, and FLW Tournament trails. His favorite place to be was Dale Hollow Lake.
James Robert Lee Fraley-age 38 of Maynardville, born June 27th 1980, passed away peacefully on May 21st 2019 with family by his side. Proceeded in death by maternal grandparents; James Reed & Ola Robertson. Paternal grandparents; Robert Fraley & Darlene Fraley.
Jerry Wayne Beeler – age 68 of Maynardville, was born July 15, 1950 and went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 2:23 a.m. He was a member of Nave Hill Baptist Church. Jerry worked for Trantanella Construction Company for 35 years. He was a farmer and was loved by many everywhere.

Jewel Irene (Wolfenbarger) Lacy, born May 23, 1943, peacefully and graciously went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Jewel has lived in this community her entire life. She was a graduate of Rule High School, a member of Norwood Baptist Church, and an employee with H &R Block for many years. Her passions throughout the years have included; election volunteer, serving in her church and participating in a bowling league every Tuesday morning. She has left a path of many friendships and she will be dearly missed.
Daniel “Scott” Anderson – age 50 of Corryton, originally of Greenville, Texas, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at his home surrounded by wife, his precious boys, family members and friends. He was a member of Corryton Church.
Amanda Lee Daniels, age 41, passed away at 8:30am on Thursday, May 16, 2019.
Amanda was born in Knoxville on December 2, 1977 in Knoxville. She was a home health care provider at L&L Sweet Home Care. Amanda was full of life and the room would light up when she walked in. She had a contagious smile and you couldn’t help but love her. Amanda had a very forgiving heart and never held a grudge.
She is preceded in death by her husband Josh Daniels.
Marie Elizabeth Holt – age 80, was born on March 29, 1939 and passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Rosa Holt; husband of 32 years, Leon Holt; daughter, Kathy McDaniels; and eight siblings. Marie is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Harold) Ray; son, Lee (Marie) Holt; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; brother, Bruce Holt, and special friend, Dennis Lovell.
Anderson Nicely-age 78 of Luttrell took his Heavenly flight home Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nicely; daughter, Tammie Ray; parents, Mitchell and Lenore Nicley; brother, Eugene Nicley and sister, Margie Nicley.
Don Keith Bridges – 84 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 13, 2019. A member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville, an active member of Kerbela Shriners, Union County Shrine Club, Clinch Valley Chapter #369 OES, Past Master of J. C. Baker Lodge #720 and employee of TDOT for 45 years.
Fredrick (Pete) Chadwell-age 81 of Maynardville passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 after a long illness. He passed away peacefully at his home with family and friends at his side. He was of the Baptist faith. Pete was a member of J. C. Baker Lodge #720 F. & A.M. and The Kerbela Shrine. Pete was instrumental in bringing the Optimist Club to Union County, former owner of Chadwell Brothers Meat Company, Hickory Valley Meat Company and was the owner of the original Pete’s Place Restaurant in Union County. He was very much loved by many. Preceded in death by father, Vernon O.
Berry, Wilma McQueen, 70, died Sunday the 12th of May at home in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents William McQueen Cureton and Martha Haun Cureton. She as a young girl attended Miss Claudette's Riley Baton School and graduated from Smithwood Elementary School. She then attended and graduated from Knoxville Central High School in 1967. She was in chorus at Central. She then worked at Miller's Department Store and also Hess's. She joined Kirkwood Presbyterian Church in Burlington as a young lady.
Lawrence Franklin Webb, Sr. – age 68 of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2019. He was of the Baptist faith. Lawrence was a Marine Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
