Jock Allen Ramsey-age 55 of Rutledge passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Dean Ramsey; grandparents, Jack and Edith Jennings; Hobert and Zulla Ramsey. Several cousins and other family members.
Survivors: mother, Hazel Ramsey; sister, Julie Ramsey, both of the home.
David Wayne Foster, 68 years old, of Knoxville, passed on to his heavenly home, while surrounded by his family, June 4, 2019. Retired from Vulcan Materials after 30 years of service, David always had a smile to offer and a funny to tell. He was a quick-witted prankster, always looking for his next victim. He always had an ear to listen and word of advice, even if we didn’t ask for it. We will miss his jokes, laughs and of course, his guidance. He was our Papaw with the peppermints. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Luther Foster Sr.
Marvin Edward Powers, age 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 31, 2019. He was an active member and pianist at Halls Primitive Baptist Church. He grew up in South Knoxville and graduated from Young High School in 1951. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He began his banking career at Park National Bank in 1956 and retired from First American Bank in 1995.
On Saturday June 1, 2019, James Houk Whitaker loving husband and father of four lost his courageous battle with ALS at the age of 63.
He was born in Knoxville, TN to Betty Ann and James Whitaker.
He married Pamela in 1984 and together raised four children. Jim worked loyally for 30 years at Uster Technologies, a company he dearly loved.
Bobby Gene Paul-age 80 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Friday, May 31, 2019 at his home. Preceded in death by parents, David and Ruby Cecil (Tharp) Paul; brother, J. B., Charles, Herbert and Estel Paul.
Survivors: sisters, Ruby Moody of Clinton; Dolly June Buckner of Indiana; brothers, Stanley Paul of Indiana; Dennis Paul of Maynardville. Several nieces and nephews.
Leonard Wayne “Crip” Bailey-age 61 of Maynardville, born March 27, 1958 passed away Saturday morning, June 1, 2019 at Fort Sander’s Regional Medical Center after a battle with cancer. He was a member of Ailor Dale Baptist Church. Preceded in death by Son, Jamison Bailey; mother, Juanita Cooper; father, James Carson Bailey; step-father, Walter Cooper; nephew, Skyler Cooper; aunts, Elsie Hobock, Louise Brown, Mary Jane Blackburn and Irene Sweet; uncles, Willis Munsey, Herbert Munsey, Larry Munsey, Austin Munsey, Raymond Bailey, Carl Bailey and Glen Allen Bailey.
Howard Junior Beeler-age 84 of Luttrell went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Friday afternoon, May 31, 2019 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a faithful member and Deacon of New Friendship Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Tom’s Food with 30 years of service. Howard loved to hunt and fish.
Joann Nicely Oxendine-age 72 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2019 at Beverly Park Place. She was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She was born December 22, 1946 the daughter of the late Charles and Caltha “Bailey” Nicely; also preceded in death by husband, Rev. Walter Oxendine; daughter, Joyce Leann Oxendine; brothers, Sherman, Walter, Cecil, Lee Roy and Eugene Nicely; sisters, Beulah Williams, Shirley Ailor and Pauline Kiser.
Virginia Haggard, age 80, of Powell, Tennessee, went to meet her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with her friends and loved ones in Heaven. Jenny was born August 20, 1938, and was the last remaining child of Tip Curtis Hill and Leola Williams Coleman. She graduated in 1957 from Claiborne County High School, and was a long-standing, faithful member of Callahan Road Baptist Church.
Donald Michael Houser – age 69 of Andersonville. On the morning of May 16, 2019, Don was carried by angels into the arms of God. His pain is gone, he is at peace. He will be missed by all who loved him, and all who knew him, loved him. He was retired from the City of Knoxville Fire Department where he enjoyed many years of service and made many friends. Don was a member of Hines Creek Baptist Church. He was always singing and everyone loved hearing him sing gospel songs.
Danny Carson Clapp – age 52 of Corryton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was a member of Reo of Knoxville, Church of God and an employee of West Rock.

Wanda Edith “Lambdin” Barton-age 81 of Maynardville passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at her home following a brief illness. She was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel. She was born May 10, 1938 the daughter of the late John and Blanchie (Ray) Lambdin; also preceded in death by brothers, Roy, Troy, Lawrence and Sherman Lambdin; sisters, Reba Cole and Goldie Mae Bull.
Vasco “Buzz” Albright, Jr., age 70 of Knoxville, passed away on May 23, 2019. He served his country as a medic in the U.S. Army and was also an expert marksman. Buzz loved gardening, flea markets and fixing things. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Tommie Sue Albright; brother, L.D. Albright; and parents, Vasco and Lora May Albright. He is survived by his son, Joshua Albright; sisters, Wilma Boruff and Sheila Davis; brother, John Albright; sister-in-law, Darlene Albright; several nieces and nephews.
Cameron Eli “Cam” Smith-age 20 of the Big Ridge Community of Union County left us too soon to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, May 22, 2019. Cam was saved at the age of nine alongside his sister, Reagan at Milan Baptist Church. He then attended and joined Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Cam was a great son, brother, uncle and friend who was a blast to be around and his laughter was contagious. Cams love and compassion for sports was unmatched.
Marnie Alexandria Tolliver-Graham, age 41, of Corryton, TN, died May 21, 2019, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Marnie was born March 23,1978, in Greeneville, TN.
She was devoted to her family, friends, and cats. She had a love of literature, travel, purses, shoes, and revenge.
Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Herbert Lynch, and paternal grandparents Phlim and Hallie Tolliver.
Evan Thomas Richey, age 18, passed away on May 17, 2019 after a
year long battle with osteosarcoma. Evan was born on November 16,
2000. He showed us what a true superhero really is as he
demonstrated amazing courage, bravery and strength during his
battle. His thoughtfulness and kindness even in the face of an
insurmountable nemesis called cancer showed us all what a truly
remarkable young man he was. We will never forget his kind and
caring heart, and we honor his legacy by never forgetting this brave
Bryce Allen Collier – age 19, our beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed away tragically on May 22, 2019 in Knoxville. Those who knew Bryce, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. Born on March 23, 2000 to parents, Amy and Greg Collier of Luttrell, Bryce was an outstanding athlete. He played football, basketball and was an excellent baseball player. Bryce loved his family, friends and sports. He graduated Gibbs High School in 2018 and was currently employed at Clayton Homes.
Mary Suggs Cox, age 80 died at UT Medical Center on May 22, 2019. She graduated from Central High School in 1955. She then retired from AT&T after 30 years. Preceded in death by parents Lon Suggs and Zetta Smith Suggs, brothers Charles Suggs and Jimmy Suggs. She is survived by husband J.D. Cox, son John, daughter Joy (Keith) McElroy, grandson Joey (Lena) Treece, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00pm Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow at 6:00pm. Rev. Randall Singleton will officiate.
