James William Rutherford-age 81 of Luttrell passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. Jim was a member of The Hudson Grove Church of God of the Gospel Assembly. Preceded in death by wife, Betty McBee Rutherford; parents, Leonard and Gracie Rutherford and all his siblings.
Marvin Stanley McCarty-age 58 of Sharps Chapel passed away Thursday morning, December 19, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a devoted Christian. Preceded in death by father, Herschel McCarty; brothers, James “J. D.” McCarty, Daniel McCarty and infant twin brothers who died at birth.
Doyle Eugene “Gene” Seivers-age 73 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 21, 2019 at his home. Gene was a Christian and held a strong belief in his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a graduate of Gibbs High School. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War serving as a Medical Corpsman.
Sharon Maxine Fox-age 72 of Washburn, born March 30, 1947, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, December 22, 2019 at her home. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Washburn. Preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ina Lay; brother, Bennie Lay.
Jack George passed away on December 24, 2019 due to an illness. Mr. George was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the army. He was a 53 year employee with Beaty Chevrolet and retired as Parts Manager in 1999. Mr. George enjoyed golf and UT sports. For over 50 years, he served as a UT football usher. Most importantly, Jack loved the Lord, his family and many friends. While attending Milan Baptist Church over 66 years, he served as Head Deacon, Music Director and Sunday School Teacher.
Jackie Scott Monday, age 53, went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2019. He was a member of Marbledale Baptist Church. He was hilarious, stubborn and could fix anything. His happiest moments were spent sitting in the floor playing with his granddaughters, Makenli and Rilyn, and sitting on the bank fishing. He is preceded in death by parents, Jack and Elizabeth Monday.
Peggy Emge, age 81, of Powell TN, passed from this world on Sunday, December 15, 2019, into the arms of her loving Savior. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and sister. She was a member of Fair Havens Baptist Church. Peggy is preceded in death by her father William J. Erwin; mother Eva (Morgan) Erwin; brothers Jack, Leon, and Robert Erwin; and sister Pat LaRue. She is survived by her husband David Emge; sons Jeffrey, Scott, and Chris; sisters Helen Craft and Emily Brewer; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Chanon Joann Munsey Walker-age 45 of Knoxville passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at her home. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Mildred Kitts Munsey; brother, Christopher Munsey; niece, Whitney Ryan; grandparents, Horace and Emily Kitts; Clarence and Lola Munsey along with several aunts and uncles.
Barbara J. “Bobbie” Davis Harrell-age 55 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Monday, December 16, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Dutch Valley Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Donald Davis; sister, Janice Cooke; brother, Donnie Davis.
Janice McCarter Myers, age 75 of Powell, was reunited with her son Marc Grimm in Heaven on Friday, December 13, 2019. She was an elementary school teacher with Knox County Schools for over 30 years.
She is preceded in death by husband of 25 years Claude “Bud” Myers; son Marc Grimm; and parents Clarence “Shorty” & Nita McCarter.
Tammy Marie Savage- 54 of Washburn, born February 28, 1965 passed away Saturday morning, December 14, 2019 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. She married Terry Glenn Savage on July 10, 1981 and they raised two sons. Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Epperson; sister, Sherry Epperson Greer.
James “Jim” Burl Hall age 86 of Halls went home to be with the Lord 3:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Waters of Clinton. He attended Dutch Valley Baptist Church. U. S. Army veteran with the Korean War. Preceded in death by loving wife, Frances Hall. Parents, James Oscar and Eunice Nevada Hall, Children, James “Jimmy” Hall, Daughter, Charlotte Treece and granddaughter, Christi Treece. Survivors, Daughter and son in law; Debbie and Jimmy Vandergriff. Brother and sister in law, Ron and Charlsie Hall. Sister, Harrilyn Tipton of Rock Port, Tx. Several nieces and nephews.
Clarence “Bud” Hall, passed away Friday, December 13, 2019, at the age of 80 in Knoxville Tennessee. Clarence loved hunting, fishing, and sitting on his porch watching the wildlife. He retired from White Lily Foods after working for 42 years. He was a great husband, father, and brother, and loved his family very much. Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mary Hall.

James Anderson “Jim” Clay, Jr.-age 63 of Washburn went home to be with his Heavenly Father Friday morning, December 6, 2019 while surrounded by his family at his home. He was a long-time member of Mt. Eager Baptist Church. Jim was a former employee of Plasti-Line Inc. and was a retired Barber. Everyone who knew him loved him. Preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruth Clay; sisters, Lois Dalton and Rhonda Clay; brother, Rev. Johnny Clay.
Barbara Beeler McGinnis-age 84 of Washburn went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 5, 2019 at her home. Preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, J. R. (Grace) Beeler; Don (Wanda) Beeler; Bill (Lillian) Beeler, all of Washburn; Hazel Lester of Tazewell.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Alice) McGinnis of Knoxville; Rita (Jim) Teffteller of Rutledge; Debbie (Gary) Wood and Jeff McGinnis, all of Washburn. She had eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Wayne Clifton Smith-age 86 of Heiskell passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his home with is family by his side. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a member of the Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. He was a member of J. C. Baker Lodge #720 F. & A.M.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Shirley Smith; children, Charlotte Diane, Wayne, Tim, Rick and wife, Dolly; Darrell and Beverly. He was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
E. J. Ray-age 73 of Maynardville went home peacefully Monday evening, December 2, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Andy and Maggie Ray; sisters, Dorthy, Gladys and Mary Patricia Ray; brother, Jr Ray.
Cynthia Dawn (Cooper) Hensley-age 53 of Luttrell, born January 18, 1966 passed away Monday morning, December 2, 2019 at her home. Cynthia was a member of Jim Town Baptist Church and an employee of the Horace Maynard Middle School. Preceded in death by father, Rev. E. R. Cooper; mother, Opal Raley Cooper; brothers, Mark and Tony Cooper.
