Jesus Friend of Sinners

(As part of a series entitled “Out of the Fire and Into the Skillet”)
Luke 7:34
“The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!”

Hum! Jesus, friend of sinners. When I consider the events surrounding Luke 7:34, which would include the entirety of the Gospel accounts, I am forced to ask myself the following question:

Hopping Bunny Rabbit

Are you looking for something different to serve at your next get-togther? Something that doesn't require taking out a loan on the car to afford? This is such a recipe. Everybody likes cheese. Everybody likes toast. Here you have it, a good party dish.

Put the pot of rabbit on the kitchen table. Add a pile of small plates, some paper napkins and long handled forks. Back in my drinking days I would have added cold beers, but today with my Christian lifestyle, it's iced tea for me. Enjoy.

Arthur "Art" Bohanan Speaks at Union County Historical Society Meeting

Union County Historical Society was privileged to host Mr. Arthur Bohanan and Mrs. Bohanan at its August meeting. Mr. Bohanan spoke about “Who are Humans and How Did We Get Here?” He is descended from the Sevier County Bohanans and has three books to his credit–two of which are historical fiction with a vivid imagination of how he portrays his great grandfather, Henry Bohanan’s, life back in the late 1700s. Art is, among other things, a forensic scientist. By age 18, he had graduated from high school and had gone to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

County Officials Sworn In

On Saturday, August 25, 2018, the Union County officials were sworn in before officially taken office on September 4th. Their friends and family, as well as the general public, filled the commons area at Union County High School to witness the ceremony. For some this ceremony marks a new chapter in their life and for others it is a continuing of their legacy and service to Union County and its citizens. All officers took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the State of Tennessee and the Constitution of the United States to the best of their ability with God's help.

Out of the Skillet and into the Fire

Matthew 12:31 King James Version (KJV)
“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.”

Far be it from me to write a controversial article about religion. Ha! Ha! That is the old-fashioned way of saying LOL! This is the beginning of a new series of articles which will be called: “Out of the Skillet and into the Fire.”

Chiropractic Care for Kyphosis

The classic sign of kyphosis is a rounded (hump-like) middle back. Chiropractic care is a nonsurgical treatment option for kyphosis. It can help treat pain, stiffness, and other kyphosis symptoms. Generally, the initial step in chiropractic treatment for kyphosis is to determine the cause of the abnormal middle back appearance.

It’s Happening All Around Us

With gigabit fiber internet slowly proliferating around the country because of municipal fiber projects, Google Fiber, startup ISPs, and new investment from incumbents spurred by grants and competition, America is quickly dividing into two additional segments, no longer is it those that have internet and those that do not, now we are seeing further divide between those that have fast internet and those who do not.

Eating the Word

She showed up at our house the day before Christmas Eve. Tim and I brought the little bitty stray puppy inside. Not having any dog food, we warmed up a can of chicken noodle soup. Bless her little hungry heart; she started whining when she smelled it cooking. She ate until her sides pooched. That did it. We kept Pobby and our lives were never the same.
