David Allen Hunt

David Allen Hunt – age 50 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following heart complications. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter.

Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruth (Hicks) Hunt; Loving wife, Rebecca (Becky) Hunt.

Survived by daughter, Tayllor Hunt and fiancé Joesph Mercado of Knoxville; granddaughter, Miley Hope Hunt; a special thanks to his mother-in-law, Linda Brewer; several other relatives along with a host of friends.

Raymond C. McBee

Raymond C. McBee-83 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 22, 2024. Raymond loved his family and friends and was an Army Veteran. Preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Faye McBee; sister, Peggy McBee Williams; sister-in-law, Judy Barnes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joann McBee; daughter, Kelley McBee; sisters, Mary Walker, Betty Dalton; brother-in-law, Ronny Barnes (Brenda); several nieces, nephews, special friends Bob and Linda Cole along with all his buddies at A.T. Cole Store.

Barbara Jean Beeler

Barbara Jean Beeler-86 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at North Knox Medical Center. She was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of TVA. Preceded in death by husband, Vaughn H. Beeler; parents, John and Helen George; sister, Hila Lundy.

Junior E. Wyrick

Junior E. Wyrick-79 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Monday, January 22, 2024. Junior loved his family and friends and enjoyed whittling. Preceded in death by his infant son, Wendell Wyrick; parents, Emerson and Bessie (Sands) Wyrick; sister, Elizabeth Wyrick; brothers, Sunny Wyrick, Billy Wyrick.

Jewell Gay Asbury Mincey

Jewell “Gay” Asbury Mincey-age 89 of Knoxville was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world to live in her heavenly home Saturday, January 20, 2024. Preceded in death by husband, Billy Howard Mincey; son, Jerry Mincey; son-in-law, James Hembree; grandson, Christopher Hembree.

Billy D. Hopson

Billy D. Hopson – age 87 of Corryton, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his home. He was a member and deacon of Spiritual Baptist Church, Corryton. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his wife, Cora Sweet Hopson; parents, Albert and Cora (Asbury) Hopson; brother, Tom Hopson; sisters, Inez Chesney, Margaret Davis, Ruby Martin.

Monteray Sharp

Monteray Sharp-age 72 of Wilton Manors community of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Holy Cross Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a member of Taylor’s Grove Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.

Robert W. Martin

On Dec 21st 2023, Jesus called Robert Weldon (Rob, Robby) Martin home, at the age of 50.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Martin, his parents Danny Ray and Patricia Ann Martin, as well as his grandparents and many friends and relatives who surely rejoiced at his arrival and met him at the pearly gates.

Leona Beth Miller-age 72 of Halls went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.

Ivon White

Roy Ivon White – age 91 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully January 11, 2024 at Norris Health and Rehab. He was a Marine Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, a charter member of Community Baptist Church, a Mason with J. C. Baker Lodge for over 50 years and member of American Legion Post 212.

Beth Ann Collins

Beth Ann Collins-age 54 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel. She was a caregiver and loved her job at Visiting Angels, Knoxville Office. Beth was an active home schooler. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt. Preceded in death by father, Teddy Collins; brother, Robbie Collins; grandparents, Edward and Georgette Collins; Mattie and Glen Woods.

Rita Mae Middleton

Rita Mae Middleton-age 70 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was of the Baptist faith. Rita loved to sit outside and enjoy nature and her humming birds and also sit on the porch and talk to her dog, Harry. Preceded in death by parents, Aulden and Willa Mae Middleton; sisters, Brenda, Linda, Glenna McCrary and husband James, Althea Middleton; brothers, Teddy, Burl and Terry Middleton.

Joan Marcelle (Cooke) Holloway

Joan Marcelle (Cooke) Holloway – age 82 of Corryton passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was a member of Union Baptist Church on Washington Pike. She lived a life of service as an USO ambassador, Family Services representative on military installations, Special Olympics volunteer, and The American Red Cross Military and Disaster Service worker. In addition, she briefly worked for the FBI as a fingerprint examiner.

Claudette Coffman

“The sun’s coming up in the morning, Every tear will be gone from mine eye. This ol’ house is gonna give way to glory, And like an eagle, I’ll take to the sky.” On January 6th, 2024, Claudette Coffman, of Corryton, TN, made that long awaited journey - passing away from the effects of Lewy Body Dementia.

Allen, Patricia

Patricia Ann Allen – age 73 of Maynardville, was called home January 1, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. Ms. Pat, as she was known to her school “kid”, was a retired paraprofessional and school bus driver in Union County for many years.

She is preceded in death by parents, Adrian and Vondell Campbell; brothers, Charles, James and Steve Campbell; sisters, Kathy, Charolet, Karen and Lisa. Patricia leaves behind daughter, Amanda (John) Hall; son, Jonathan (Jamie) Allen; grandchildren, Victoria Rutherford and Lincoln Allen; and sister, Jan Campbell.

Carolyn Sue Brantley

Carolyn Sue Brantley – age 73 of Sharps Chapel, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Claiborne Medical Center. She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church having been saved at an early age. She owned and operated Brantley Grocery in Sharps Chapel for many years and although she was a mother to 3 children, she mothered many other children at the “White House”. If you knew her, you knew what it was like to be loved.

Donald Mathew Bradley

Donald “Dee” Bradley – age 53 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 24, 2023. Dee loved to fish and loved to drive fast cars. He was a hard worker and detailed cars.
Preceded in death by his mother, Martha “Tess” Bradley; sisters, Martha Stephens, Lynda Collins, Cynthia Bradley; brother, Thomas Steward. Survived by sister, Phyllis “P.K.” Grimes and husband David; many nieces, nephews and friends.
