Charlotte Ruth Huskey Cox

Charlotte Ruth Huskey Cox, age 81, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, March 12th, 2018. She was an organist at Macedonia Baptist Church, had a passion for singing, and teaching Sunday school class. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially enjoyed her pets. Charlotte was preceded in death by husband Jay Cox, parents Henry and Hazel Huskey, and sister Barbara Ann Catlett.

Opal Mae Adcock

Opal Mae Adcock, age 88, of Knoxville Tennessee passed away peacefully at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on March 12th, 2018. Opal was a longtime member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Reverend Paul Adcock and son Larry Adcock. She is survived by sister Faye Breeden, daughters: Carol Wilson, Mary Miranda, and Brenda (Rex) Berry, daughter in law Darla Adcock, grandchildren: Amanda Elkins, Jason Adcock, Kelley Adcock and Isaac McCroskey, several great-grandchildren, and also one great-great- grandchild.

Michael Dugger

Mikey Dugger, age 62 of Knoxville passed away March 10, 2018. He was a loving father. Preceded in death by parents Arlie and Nellie Dugger and son, Michael Dugger. Tandy L. Summers, born November 21, 1943, passed away March 12, 2018. Preceded in death by wife Elizabeth Summers; parents Bessie Summers Howard and Joseph Summers; brothers Richard Summers and Carl “Toby” Howard. Survived by brothers Harrison and Don Summers; sisters Ruby Lorene Humphries (Covington, GA), Imogene Weaver (Knoxville), Betty McCain (Lenoir City), and Beatrice Myers (Sevierville); children Diane Harding, Carol Lyons, Steve Taylor, Sherry Breeden, and Becky Jones; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pierson Chase Brown, age 3, passed away March 11, 2018. Pierson was smart boy, full of life and his personality would light up a room. Jeanie Berry Bowling

Jeanie Berry Bowling-age 57 of Maynardville gained her precious angel wings Sunday, March 11, 2018. She attended Powell United Methodist Church. Jeanie was a retired school teacher with Union County Schools and held a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Lincoln Memorial University and a Master’s Degree in Education from Tusculum College. Jeanie was a loving wife, mother, nannie and Gigi. She dearly loved her kindergarten students and she taught for 27 years at Big Ridge Elementary School. We want to give special thanks to Dr.

Jeffrey Allen Sharp

Jeffrey Allen Sharp-age 47 of Sharps Chapel, born May 27, 1970 in Kokomo, Indiana died Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at his home in Sharps Chapel of cancer. Preceded in death by father, Benjamin Harold (Sam) Sharp; grandparents, Theodore and Georgia Ellison; Tobe and Edith Sharp.

Survivors: mother, Brenda Faye Sharp; wife, Tina Sharp; sons, Levi and Eli Benjamin Sharp; brother, Jason and Patricia Sharp; special niece, Ashli and C. J. Roach; great-niece, Lily Roach along with a host of friends and family.

Ruth Franklin

Ruth Franklin, age 84, of Knoxville, was saved at an early age and went to be with her heavenly father on March 9, 2018. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn H. Smith; second husband, Sam Franklin; parents, Fate and Myrtle McBee; brother, Swan McBee; sisters, Trula Hobock, Ruby Woods, and Lucille McBee. She is survived by her loving son, Stanley Smith, of Knoxville; sister, Helen (Luther) Cox, of Maynardville; several nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Ruby Hobock and Vicki Hamilton.

Louise Snelson Tucker

Louise Snelson Tucker, age 90, entered into the presence of the Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 8, 2018. She was a long-time member of Sharon Baptist Church where she served the Lord in many different roles. She is retired from General Sessions Court Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Altus Dale Tucker; daughter, Connie Gale Owenby; parents, David & Lettie Snelson; brothers, Arnold, Eugene, and Glen Snelson; sister and best friend, Ruby Thomas. She is survived by her sons, David Tucker (Patty) and Terry Tucker (fiancée Teresa).

Sandra Gail Harmon – age 72 of Maynardville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. She was a member of New Testament Baptist Church.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Milford Harmon. She is survived by daughters, Bethany (Gary) Ball and Lindsay (Bryan) Ferguson; sons, Terry (Missy) McGinnis and Matt (Dawn) Harmon; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Lee Edward “T-Bo” Bailey-age 82 of Maynardville passed away Monday evening, March 5, 2018 at U. T. Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith and a retired employee of Lay Packing Company.
Preceded in death by wife: Margaret Muncey Bailey; son, Billy Joe Bailey; mother, Clara Hopson Smith; father, York Bailey.

Mary Etta Wilson

Mary Etta Wilson, age 75, walked in to the Kingdom of Heaven to meet the Lord Jesus Christ and to reunite with greatly missed family on March 5, 2018. Mary was born on December 6, 1942 and resided in Luttrell, TN for the majority of her 75 years. A graduate of the Tennessee School of Beauty, she was a beautician for many years, special aide at Luttrell Elementary School and various other jobs to keep her busy. Mary was preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Paul Edward Wilson; father, John “Boss” Dyer Sr; mother, Edna Mae Dyer; and sister, Janet Dolores Hopson.

Patrick Henry Lay

Patrick Henry Lay-age 54 of Sharps Chapel passed away Sunday morning, March 4, 2018 at The Waters of Clinton. Preceded in death by father, Ralph Lay.

Survivors: mother, Helen Louise Bailey Lay Holloway; brother, Gary Lay, both of Sharps Chapel; two aunts, Vontella Cole and Dula “Dude” Hamilton. Several cousins and a host of friends.

Garland Hart

Garland L. Hart, age 86, of Powell, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 8th, 2018. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War and was present when the Truce was signed. He was employed at the Knoxville News-Sentinel for several years and then left to begin his own catering business. He loved fishing, being outdoors and creating art in the form of oil painting. He was preceded in death by parents; Rev. M.D. and Nora Hart, brother Paul Hart and sister Ruby Spencer.

Jerry Julian

Jerry “Sarge” Julian, age 84, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 28th, 2018. He was in a United States Army Veteran and served his country for 26 years, A member of the American Legion, and retired from the Concord Telephone Company after 20 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by parents Butler and Stacy Julian, and all of his siblings.

Reverend Roy Acuff

Rev. Roy Glen Acuff – 86 of Blaine, was born, January 27, 1932 to Joe P. and Lora Sellers Acuff and passed away, Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army PFC from 1952-1954. Roy began preaching in 1961 and has been a faithful servant of the Lord for fifty-seven years.

James Grubb "Jimmy" Shumate

James Grubb “Jimmy” Shumate-age 79 of Maynardville passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at his home. He was born February 6, 1939 in Union County. Preceded in death by parents, James A. and Oma Grubb Shumate; infant brother, George Shumate.
James was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University and the University of Tennessee with degrees in Physics, Environment and Mathematics and also held a teaching certificate. He was a retired school teacher with Union County Schools.

He is survived by several cousins.
