Wilma Sue (Coppock) Davis

DAVIS, WILMA SUE (Sue) –
On Monday November 6th, 2017, the chorus of pianos in Heaven began playing more sweetly and the choir above now sings louder. A son rejoicing above and a son crying below. A church falls silent, its piano still. When the piano played by this good woman’s touch, all who heard said she was a Saint amongst us--but she too modest to believe it. But on this day, the Saint Row has been added by one. We desire the Lord to keep her here forever, but the Lord above has called, and the angels rejoice. She wears the crown of righteousness.

Sue (Coppock) Davis of Big Ridge (Maynardville, TN) with ill body, transitioned to her Eternal reward peacefully with loved ones holding her. A woman without enemies and friends with everyone who was graced by her presence. A woman with a heart big enough for all of us.

She lost a son when he was only 15 to the monster of Leukemia. How does she or the son left behind, or the father get through that? Because she was a good mother and wife. She had always taken her sons to the Lord's House and through His Love, they all were saved and understood. How can we all get through this day without her? As a beautiful mother, a wife, a grandmother, a friend, this true Saint would say, "Draw close to Him and put your arms around each other and it will be all right." We cry today, but we will spend the rest of our tomorrows rejoicing being made better by her example. Thank you Lord for giving her to us. Thank you Lord for bringing her home to Lynn and Bob.

Born June 13, 1944, age 73, she married her sweetheart, Bobby Earl Davis, and was blessed with a 50-year journey—celebrating a wonderful Golden Anniversary only months before his peaceful passing. A seamstress at Levis for over three decades and a piano player and singer of the Lord’s songs since she could walk. She and her husband raised their two sons, Bobby Lynn and Gregory Allen. Lynn left for Heaven at an early age—Mother, father and son are now at last together again.

Sue was blessed with a loving family and family-in-law—both sides becoming one big family. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Estelle Coppock. She is survived by her siblings: Faye and the late Dee Davis, Buddy Coppock, the late Marian and Kyle Whited and the late Mildred and Bill Joplin. Survived by her in-laws: Evelyn and Charles Smith, Billy and the late Claudia Hodge, Joann and Eddie Buckner, and the late Helen and Ed Langley.

Her son, Greg and his fiancée Diana, his daughters Geghie and Cera and their mother Stephany Faulkner Davis miss this blessed woman with all their hearts. Geghie and Cera was the spark in Bob and Sue’s eyes and without a doubt extended their life many years. Sue was also gifted with Bill Monroe, who became as a brother to Greg and a son to Sue.

Sue was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church in Maynardville and played the piano there joyfully for over 60 years. Sue enjoyed life with her friends and family and her church family. Her life is a living example of how mankind should be.

We thank you Lord for sparing her from pain. We cry today, but we know that this was a day of mercy and peace. Thank you for giving her happiness in her twilight days. Thank you Lord for sharing your Saint. She fought the good fight her entire life. She finished her race and has showed each of us how to run. She has kept the faith. Amen.
