Wayne A. Collins
Wayne Arlis Collins-age 86 of Sharps Chapel passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a member of Blazing Star Lodge #455 F. & A.M. Wayne served as a Union County Commissioner for over 29 years and other offices associated with the county. Preceded in death by son, Harold Wayne Collins; parents, Esco and Mossie (Keck) Collins; sisters, Patsy Dyke, Oralee Lytle, Ina Sharp; brothers, Isaac, Edward and Normal Collins.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Lorene Sharp Collins; daughter, Shirley (Randy) Dykes; sons, Steve (Ruby) Collins, Stanley (Renée) Collins; grandchildren, Tasha (Gary), Adam, Brandon (Cait Lyn), Cody, Keith and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Cedric, Cayden, Brylee, AdaLyn and Princeton. Sister, Bobbie Edwards and husband, J. R. Several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 with masonic service 7 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 presented by Blazing Star Lodge #455 F. & A.M. Funeral service to follow, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Gary Brown officiating with music by The Valley Boys and Cedric and Cayden Brown. Interment 2 P.M. Sunday, November 26, 2017, M. C. Keck Cemetery, New Tazewell. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to go in the funeral procession. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
