Wanda Lay Williams
Wanda Lay Williams-age 83 of Maynardville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning, June 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She spent most of her life singing about The Lord and was a proud member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Bruce Williams; son, Tommy Williams; grandson, Alex Williams; parents, Floyd and Sarah Lay; brothers, Raymer, Harold and H. C. Lay; sister, Edith Beason.
Survivors: Son, Eddie and Teresa Williams; daughters, Judy and Tony Bennett; Phyllis and Brian Jessie; Karen and Fred Wenger. Brother, Delano Lay; sister, Elizabeth and Paul Johnson. Grandchildren, Matt, Jenny, Amanda, A. J., Jessie, Sarah, Zachary and Leslie. Great-grandchildren, Alex, Ely, Sammy, Emeri, Elaina, Thomas, Henri Jane, Jordan, Jace, India, Cappy, Gracie, Maya and Celeste. Special friend, Bea Brooks. Several nieces and nephews along with many other family members and a host of friends. Special thanks to Dr. Fred Hurst and Staff along with Suncrest Hospice for the special care of our mother.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Alder Springs Baptist Church, Rev. Jimmy Davidson officiating with music by her children and also the church choir. Interment 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go with the procession. Pallbearers: Cody Dixon, Brian Jessie, A. J. Bennett, Matt Wenger, Logan Seaton, Alex West, Zachary Williams, Tony Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers: Thomas Bennett, Jordan Dixon, Jace Dixon, Sammy West, Isaac Kandel, Ely Causey.
