Troy Savage

Troy Lee Savage, 81, of Knoxville entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. He was surrounded by his family and friends during his last hours. Troy was born June 14, 1936 and lived a full active life until his recent and sudden diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). While his illness was but an abrupt short battle, his life with Jesus is now everlasting. He was a 1955 graduate of Fulton High School in Knoxville, TN, and served his country in the US Navy on the USS IOWA (BB61), before beginning his career as an entrepreneur in various venues from restaurateur to residential remodeler and car dealer. He was a loving, caring son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. He is preceded in death by (parents) Conley and Lucinda Tharp Savage, (former spouse) Peggy Giffin (Savage) McWilliams, (sister) Shirley (Sharp) Perry and (lifelong friend) Gary Baker. He is survived by (daughter) Anita Lucinda (Cindy) Wilmoth and husband Ken of Lenoir City, TN, (son) Justin Troy Savage of Massachusetts, (daughter) Ashley Michelle Savage of New Jersey; (three granddaughters) Christina Wilmoth Myers and husband Jason of Farragut, TN, Amanda Wilmoth Flenniken and husband Casey of Knoxville, TN, Erica Wilmoth Lombardo and husband Kyle of Lenoir City, TN; (five great granddaughters) Kenslie, Jaycie and Baylie Myers, and Keira and Brooklie Flenniken; (brother) Clarence Glen Savage and wife Delores of Lenoir City, TN, (sister) Mildred Alene Raeder and husband Wolfgang of Corryton, TN, and (half-brother) Jeff Bluford of Knoxville, TN. Several nieces and nephews. (Special friends and caregivers) Anne Jacoby Manning and husband Richard, Tammy Mersino, Dawn Hodge and Sharma Lawson, all of Knoxville, TN; they each had a true loving and bonded relationship with Troy, along with a host of friends which are too many to name. The family expresses their gratitude for the service provided by TN CANCER SPECIALISTS, the caregivers of ADDUS AID & ASSISTANCE through the BlueCare of TN CHOICES program, along with the multiple AMEDISYS HOSPICE family of practitioners. Visitation will be held at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City, TN on Sunday August 20th from 2-4pm with the Funeral service to follow, Dr. Dick DeMerchant officiating. A processional to the cemetery will leave immediately following the funeral service for the burial at Pleasant View Cemetery in Maynardville. Pallbearers for the services will be Jason Myers, Casey Flenniken, Kyle Lombardo, Ron Corum, David Riley Jr., and Chip Baker. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial donations to the Belly Rubs Basset Hound Rescue, PO Box 1082, Brentwood, TN 37024-1082 or bellyrubsbr@bellyrubs.org, because Troy dearly loved his pups Billy, Charlie, Trinity, Lily, and two that had previously passed Wiggins and Bella.
