Thomas Spencer Gillespie, age 69, passed away on August 13, 2022. Born in Maynardville, TN and graduated from Horace Maynard High School. He moved to Detroit, MI at age 18 and worked at Ford Motor Co., where he retired after 20 years of service. He then moved to Knoxville, TN and worked as a manager at Central Parking for several years. Preceded in death by parents, Spencer and Jana V. Gillespie; sister, Evelyn Sue Woods Roe; and niece, Sheri Faye Sexton.

Survived by sisters, Jean Idell and Ginger Mayfield; nieces, Margaret Jacobsen, Jennifer Vineyard, Becky (Jeff) Vittetoe, Karen (Ray) Hosack; nephew, Kevin (Shannon) Woods; several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their care during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Young Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, TN 37919.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 28 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant View Cemetery, Hwy 61, Maynardville, TN. Reverends Larry and Brenda Carroll officiating.
