Shirley Fontella (Greene) Monroe-age 82 of Washburn, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023. She was a member of Mt. Eager Baptist Church and a former employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center. Preceded in death by husband, Harl Monroe; parents, Rev. Lewis and Gladys (Capps) Greene; sister, Glenda Shelton; sister-in-law, Brenda Pratt; nephew by marriage, Dwayne Pratt.

Survivors: nieces and their families, Amy, Anthony, Jade, and Emily Kuykendall, Becky, Danny, Dillon, Devin, and Drew Farmer, Connie, Richie and Blair Nicley; sister-in-law, Gladys Williams; brother-in-law, Joe Shelton; nieces and nephews by marriage and their families, Stacy and Von Williams, Sherry Mills, Hazel Lovitt, Rodney and Lance Pratt. Special thanks to the Ridgeview Terrace of Life Care staff.

The family will receive friends 5:30-7:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel. Graveside service 2 PM Friday, June 9, 2023 Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery, Powder Springs, Rev. Richard Nicley officiating. Singing by Rev. Ray Headrick. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1 PM Friday to go with the funeral procession.
