Roland David Seymour
Roland David Seymour, 77, transitioned from this life to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2020.
David was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. David was the son of James and Nellie Pauline Seymour. He graduated from Halls High School (1960), The University of Tennessee (1965), and The University of Florida (1968). David served in the Tennessee Air National Guard 1960-1966. Service included being activated for the duty at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, during the Berlin Crisis. He retired from Bellsouth Telecommunications after 33 years of service in Florida and New York City.
David served on numerous community boards including leadership positions with Gideons International and the Academy of Senior Professionals at the University of West Florida. He was a member of Olive Baptist Church since 1999. He sang in the choir and taught bible study class for many years. David enjoyed all things TN-VOLS, photography, and was an avid golfer playing with NWFL Pin Seekers Association.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rev. James “Jimmy” Seymour and his mother, Nellie Pauline Seymour.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Cascone Seymour; daughter, Kristi Seymour of Wasilla, AK; son, Michael Seymour of Sevierville, TN and granddaughter Piper Rose Seymour; his brother, Wayland (Lorene) Seymour of Tampa, FL; step-daughters, Shelley Norred (Uwe, Lyndee, Lacee) of Milton, FL; Brandy Kea (Brian, Olivia, Emery) of Milton, FL; Ashley Mistovich (Shawn, Preston, Pierce) of Milton, FL.
Visitation will be held 10:00am until a funeral service to begin at 11:00am Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Olive Baptist Church with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating. A private family burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
