Reverend Louise Baker Taffer McMahan, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2025 at the age of 79. She was the cherished spouse of Reverend Gordon McMahan and is survived by her children, daughters: Sophia Taffer (Randy Harris), Betty Taffer (Tim Cupp), Pamela Baker Taffer (Lee Helton), and her son Merle Herbert Taffer Jr, from her previous marriage to Merle Herbert Taffer Sr.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents Pastor Pearl Baker and Alwilda Hamblin Baker. Brother Ishmael Denver Baker (Leona Shepherd); and her sisters: Pauline Baker (Bill Coots), Frankie Baker (Eugene Coots), and Tiney Baker (Willie Bowling).

She is survived by her brother Reverend Eugene Baker and his wife Kathleen Shepherd Baker; her grandsons Bobby Couch (Chelsea), Alex Harris, Elijah Helton (Shelby), and Samuel Helton, and her granddaughters Robin Harris (James), Arika Couch (Arnie), and Amy Couch (Travis). As well as great grandchildren: Emery, Jaxson, Isabella, Braxton, Alleybeth, Trinity, Raven, Benjamin, Emily, and Sorin.

Louise was loved and admired by a host of nieces and nephews, especially Minnie, Dussie, and Keith, & Pearl and Rhonda.

Family and Friends are invited for Visitation, Wednesday 29th, 2025, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Reigns Worship Center at 600 John Deer Drive, Maynardville, TN. Please begin arriving at 9:30a.m. Followed by graveside services at Pleasant View Cemetery, Thursday, January 30th, 2025.
