Nancy Jane Chadwell – age 85 of Maynardville passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Mary Inez Smith; husband of 63 years, Fred “Pete” Chadwell; five brothers; her beloved grandson, Tyler Scott Chadwell.

She is survived by her beloved daughter and caregiver, Missy Chadwell; son, Scott (Lisa) Chadwell; grandchildren, Brittney (Chris) Wolff, Tanner (Tiffany) Chadwell, and the love of her life, special granddaughter, Abby Grace Chadwell and her father, Tony Hayes. She also leaves behind seven precious great-grandchildren; special friends, Coy and Julia Smith, Barbara Born.

Nancy was retired from TDOT and was the original owner of “Pete’s Place” in Maynardville. Nancy lived a full life, as she stated “I did it my way”. Per Nancy’s request, there will be no funeral services. She would always say “I preached my own funeral”, as she tried to be good to everyone and helped anyone she could and should be remembered most for her kindness and support to many people, especially children.
