Mattie “Tubby” (Welch) Coppock - age 89 of Maynardville, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025 surrounded by her family that she adored dearly. She was a longtime member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Everyone loved Mattie and she will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Mammie Welch; Brothers Uyless Welch and Buford Welch; Sisters, Vonnie Stanifer, Roberta Bruner and Virginia Raley; Grandson, Phillip Watson; and Great Grand Daughter, Isabel Aguilar. Mattie is survived by 1 Brother, Carl Welch; her children, Kathy (Tony) Bailey of Maynardville, Larry Coppock of Stem, N.C., Gary (Hope) Coppock of Louisburg, N.C., Lisa (Sherwood) Boyd of Stem N.C.; 11 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 5pm till 7pm with services at 7pm. Rev. Jason Muncey will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:45am to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tristan Dorsey, Adam Chrisy/in Honor of Phillip Watson, Josh Coppock, Daniel Coppock, Collin Bailey and Wesley Riley. Serving as Honorary pallbearers, Bobby Lord, Cody Gwinn and Erick Aguilar. The family would like to give a special thank you to Willow Ridge for their caring staff past and present for the last 13 years. They have become part of our family.
