Lukus James Burner – age 41, of Union County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, after a long battle with cancer. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, former Knox County Police Officer and beloved member of Paulette Fire Department. Lukus loved drag racing, welding, and working on cars. He was an amazing dad, son and grandson who loved his family dearly.

Lucus is preceded in death by mother, Donna Bruner. He is survived by his loving parents, Meril and Ella Bruner; brother, Derek Bruner; son, Isiah Bruner; daughter, Ashley Bruner; and stepson, Robert Jandura.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2023 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Jason Mills and Reverend Eddie Muncey officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023 to go in procession to Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, 1046 Beard Valley Rd., Maynardville, TN 37807 for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
