Lorene Sharp Collins – age 87 of Sharps Chapel, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 14, 2024 at Tri-State Health and Rehab. She was saved at a young age and a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Retired cook of Sharps Chapel School. Lorene was a special mom and mamaw to so many. She always took care of everyone in her life, making sure we were always fed and welcome in her home. She loved her family more than anything and spent her life caring for and raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She taught us all kindness, hard work, strength, and endless love. We will always look back on the time we had with her with happy and grateful hearts and remember how blessed we are that the Lord chose her to be ours. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Wayne Arlis Collins; son, Harold Wayne Collins; parents, Pascal and Alma (Sowder) Sharp; brothers, Ralph Sharp, James Claudie Sharp, Monteray Sharp; sisters, Bessie Jane Johnson, Dottie Williams, Hilda Braden; nephew, Mike Sharp.

Survived by daughter, Shirley Collins Dykes and husband Randy; sons, Steve Collins and wife Ruby, Stanley Collins and wife Renee, all of Sharps Chapel; grandchildren, Tasha Collins Beason and husband Travis, Brandon Collins and Cait Lyn Brown, Adam Collins, Cody Collins and wife Brooke, Keith and Brandon Dykes; great-grandchildren, Cedric Brown, Cayden Brown, Corbin Beason, AdaLyn Collins, Princeton Collins, Major Collins, Brylee Collins, Brody Collins; brothers, Luna (Martha) Sharp of Maynardville; Bob Sharp of Sharps Chapel; special brother, Fred West of Sharps Chapel; sister, Joyce (Wayne) Lee of New Tazewell; brother and sisters-in-law, James Braden, Mildred Sharp, Angela Sharp. Numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM, officiated by Rev. Tim Sharp and Rev. Greg Sharp, eulogy and obituary by Cedric Brown, music by Cayden Brown. Interment will immediately follow funeral service at M.C. Keck Cemetery, New Tazewell. Pallbearers will be Brandon Collins, Travis Beason, Cedric Brown, Cayden Brown, Kevin Williams, Aaron Sharp, Adam Collins, Cody Collins.
