Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Kathy Lynn Cox Jones-age 73 of Maynardville, born May 15, 1950 to the late Porter and Roberta (Bailey) Cox departed this life Thursday, July 6, 2023 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Kathy was the proud owner of Kathy’s Hair Styling and if you set in her chair, you automatically became her friend. Sadly, she closed in the 90’s but her legacy lived on. She opened her home to many and enjoyed your company; you never left hungry or unloved. She was a loving sister, aunt and friend. Kathy is preceded in death by, brothers, Charlie Cox, Joe Cox and sister, Dovie Smith.

She is survived by brothers, Earl and Sandra Cox; Jimmy Cox and sister, Mickey and Bill Nicely. Several loving nieces and nephews along with a host of very special friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2023 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Sunday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Gabril Haynes officiating with music by Rev. Richard and Linda Nicley. Interment 10 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, Cox Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home to go in the procession. Pallbearers: Steven Cox, Eddie Smith, Bill Nicely, Stacey Crawford, Tommy Jones, Andrew Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers: Nephews. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
