Josephine (Ivey) Sands Oxendine-age 88 of Blaine, formerly of Mascot passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 14, 2024 at home. She was born February 25, 1936. She was a member of Carter Road Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Standard Knitting Mill and Silver Furniture Company. Preceded in death by husbands, Carl Sands and R G Oxendine.
Survivors: Brother-in-law, Jimmy Oxendine and wife, Mary of Blaine; nephews, Daniel and April Oxendine of Rocky Top; Rev. Eddie Oxendine and wife, Sarah of Maynardville; niece, Carolyn McBee and husband, Gene of Luttrell. Her church family and friends along with several other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6-7 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2024 with the funeral service to follow at 7 pm Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Eddie Oxendine officiating with music by The Oxendine Family. Interment 11 am Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Eastview Memorial Gardens, 1320 Andrew Johnson Highway, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871. Please meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am Wednesday. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
