Jewell M. (Cole) Edwards-age 81 of Sharps Chapel passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at Claiborne Medical Center. Jewell was a 1957 graduate of Horace Maynard High School and was the Valedictorian of her class. She worked with her father for many years running the Woodrow Cole Store in Sharps Chapel and was a retired employee of DeBusk Industries, Maynardville. Jewell was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. Preceded in death by parents, Woodrow and Hettie (Cox) Cole; son, John Martin Edwards; grandson, James Adam Edwards.

Survivors: daughter, Marlene Godfrey and husband, Ronald; son, Michael Edwards, all of Maynardville; four grandchildren, Stacy Edwards, Dakota Edwards, Derrek Williams and Angel Edwards and great-grandchildren. Sister, Wilma Lou Tolliver; niece, Jeannie Tolliver Dyer, both of Sharps Chapel along with other family members and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Friday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp, Rev. Tim Sharp officiating with music by Diane Lay. Interment 12 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery, New Tazewell. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:45 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers: Ronald Godfrey, Ronnie Godfrey, Derek Williams, Stacy Edwards, Dakota Edwards, David Edwards, Tim Chittum, Daniel Cole. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
