Jerry Neal Fugate-age 64 of Washburn, TN, a native of Haywood County, North Carolina passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at Parkwest Medical Center with his family by his side. Jerry was the son of the late Ben Jr. and Margaret Louise Fugate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe David and James Robert; half-brother, Kenneth Fugate; nephew, Aaron Miles Fugate. Jerry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He retired from his lifelong love of the sawmill work. Jerry loved to fish, hunt, horseback ride, camp and teaching his grandchildren all about life. He taught them how to garden, fish, hunt and how to live life to the fullest, how to ride horses and how to love unconditionally. He loved spending time and taking road trips with the love of his life!

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Teresa Crawford Fugate of Washburn; son, Jeremiah David Fugate of Morganton, NC; daughter, Laura Fugate Edwards and husband, Michael Edwards of Washburn. Two grandchildren, Coleman Edwards and Gracie Edwards; one sister, Patricia Fugate Sharp (Sam) of Canton, NC; sister-in-law, Maxine Lassiter Fugate as well as several nieces and nephews.

For the Tennessee folks, the family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at Central View American Christian Church, Washburn, TN with a service to follow.

For the North Carolina folks, the family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Dellwood Baptist Church, Waynesville, NC with a service to follow.
