Janice (Lay) Beason-age 60 of Sharps Chapel passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2024 at her home. She was a loyal, faithful member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Janice is preceded in death by her father, Sandy Lay.

Survivors: husband of 40 years, Keith Beason; daughter, Valerie Greene and husband, Jim Greene. Grandson, Kenny Greene; mother, Carlean Lay; sisters, Diane Lay; Cheryl (Travis) Roark; Gail (Randy) Sexton. Brothers, Kenneth (Amber) Lay; Lee Roy (Donna) Lay; Chester (Mary) Lay; sister-in-law, Sharon (David) McBee; brother-in-law, Arnold (Tammy) Beason. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins along with many friends.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2024 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Joe Graves, Rev. Jason Walker officiating with music by Ashley Queener. Interment 11 a.m. Tuesday, February, 27, 2024 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Family and friends will meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Brian Shoffner, Jody Dyke, Scott Queener, Travis Beason, Edward Berry, Jace Walker.
