James Robert Sands-age 63 of Washburn went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 9, 2024. He was a farmer and a Union County Co-Op employee. He loved to hunt, fish, ginseng hunting, and farm with tractors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Hettie Sands; daughter, Lisa Marie Sands; brothers, Roger and Roy Sands.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sands; daughter, Samantha (Joe) Sands; son, Robert (Megan) Sands; grandchildren, Preston, Paisley, Joseph, Phoenix, Ava, Adam, Paxton, Aleah and Jessa Sands; great granddaughter, Ellie Sands; sisters, Ella Jo Bunch, Helen Sands and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary. Funeral service 2 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Will Phillips officiating, music by Jerry and Carolyn Epperson. Interment to follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Washburn. Pallbearers: Robert Sands, Joe Sands, Larry Nicely, Elmer Nicely, Larry Bunch, Robbie Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers: Joseph Sands, Preston Sands.
