James "Jim" King
James “Jim” King – age 74 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Jim was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church for 43 years. He was owner and operator of Begard Impression Products in the 1980’s and then continued on in sales until he retired. Jim transitioned into becoming the Attendance Clerk for Union County High School. He was known for his sense of humor and his thoughtfulness of everyone. Whomever Jim came in contact with he shared his love for the church and gospel music, all of which he maintained his whole life.
Jim is preceded in death by parents, J. O. and Amanda King; and brother, Vic King. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Charolette King; daughters, Allison (David) Cox and Sharon (Doug) Fraker; sons, Derrick (Natalie) King and Reverend Philip (Lisa) King; grandchildren, Dylan, Reese, Brady, Peyton, Katie, Grant, Leanna and Matthew; sister, Anna Ruth Waldrop of Lexington, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hal Keys and Avalon Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Clear Springs Baptist Church at 7350 Tazewell Pike in Corryton. The funeral will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Philip King, Dr. Damon Patterson and Dr. Jerry Vittatoe officiating. Serving as pallbearers, Randy King, Rodney King, Joe King, John King, John Anderson and Josh Anderson; honorary pallbearers are the members of the Bible Followers Sunday School Class. Family and friends will meet at Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017 to go in procession to Pleasant View Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service.
