James Edward Norton-age 79 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Park West Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1942 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was retired from the U. S. Navy with over 21 years of service, rank of EWC and of the Catholic faith. Preceded in death by parents, George and Iona Marie (Hicks) Norton; brother, Richard Norton and son, Mike Collins.

Survivors: wife of 56 years, Patricia Collins Norton; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie Marie and Lonnie Rhymer; son, Richie Norton; grandson, Owen Rhymer, all of Maynardville; sister, Elaine Ferrari of Massachusetts along with other brothers and family members.

The body will be cremated and the ashes buried at sea by the U. S. Navy. No other services are scheduled. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
